The name is fitting, because it's a really small building which doesn't have a ton of room to accommodate the line that always inevitably forms! However, there is plenty of seating outside. The employees were also nice and friendly. You can see them making the pretzels fresh from scratch, skillfully shaping them in one quick, fluid motion. These are probably the best soft pretzels I've ever had! The traditional pretzel had a bit of a crunchy crust on the outside with a soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet interior. It was dipped in a vat of butter and had just the right amount of salt. The cheddar cheese sauce that I ordered on the side paired perfectly with it (tasting better than the highly processed nacho cheese sauce, but they have that as option too). I also tried the cinnamon sugar pretzel, which was delicious and had a generous coating of it, but I still like the traditional more. These pretzels are top notch and I would absolutely come back anytime I'm in the area (and maybe try the pretzel dog next time)! read more

The shop was technically supposed to be closed when we arrived around 5:45, but there is live music performed right across the street on Friday evenings, so they open up again during that time to cater to the folks coming to listen. Hubby & I were window shopping & came upon this shop. I think the smell of fresh baked pretzels drew me in. I was served immediately but waited about 3 minutes for pretzels to come out of the oven. While waiting, I watched the lady making the pretzels. She was working hard to keep up with the demand. I declined all the different dips & opted for plain yellow mustard to top my pretzel. The pretzel was hot & delicious and tasted great with just a touch of mustard. Really flavorful & doesn't need a thing added to it. I would definitely eat here again. read more

After numerous trips to this Amish country, I finally found the infamous Amish pretzels. Apparently they are more prevalent in PA Amish country. We walked into this very small establishment that also sells popcorn. I ordered one plain pretzel and waited for it to come out of the oven. About 4 minutes later, the fresh pretzel was pulled out of the oven and dunked in melted butter. They put it in a brown bag to go for us. The bag was soaked with butter but I broke it out when we got into our car. I took my first bite and passed the pretzel around. We all agreed that this was the best pretzel we had ever eaten. It was soft, fresh, tasty, and buttery. We should have ordered a dozen. Next time for sure. The employees were nice and helpful. read more

Great little nook in downtown Berlin in Amish Country. It's located in a small shopping center alongside a boutique in a charming historic white building. We almost didn't stop by -- but are so glad we did. There's a selection of pre-made treats like chocolate covered pretzels, but you'll want to go for their fresh pretzels. We chose a Garlic & Herb pretzel which was handed to us straight out of the oven. These pretzels are thin and doughy, not super fat and tough like other German pretzels. One soft pretzel can satisfy one person but leave two people wanting more. At about $3 per, you won't break the bank. Dipping sauces are available for extra cost but I think there's adequate zest on the Garlic & Herb alone. Would stop by again if I was ever in the area. read more

This was a little stop for a snack and drink. It was hot outside and they have lots of picnic benches to sit at. Went in and there wasn't any pretzels made so I grabbed a pretzel dog with cheese and a drink. Place is tiny, not much room You grab your food and go outside. The ladies working are very nice and working hard to keep fresh delicious pretzels coming out. I didn't get to sit out side, the whole time I was jumping up and freaking out because of the bees. I am deathly afraid of them and they were actually all over the town. Not my favorite thing, so we kept on the move. Prices are good, if you get a chance to stop by you will enjoy it. read more

I have debated whether or not to post a review. I want to say first - the only reason I even gave 3 stars was due to their wonderful pretzels. Delicious. With that being said - this place was kind of a nightmare for anyone that gives any care at all about covid safety measures. Mid-October and there was absolutely no ability to social distance and they strongly encouraged no masks. I... I just don't know how to express how much it disappointed me. I wear the mask mostly for protecting them and others around me... not myself. To not see a single person there wearing one was disappointing. I don't know, it's just a bummer whenever I see a business choose to disregard public health orders. They are willing to abide by regulations for other health department orders for running a food business, but I guess not this one. read more

OMG the best soft pretzels EVER! In my decades of experience as a soft pretzel connoisseur, as my hips and tummy will vehemently attest, I've savored them in stadiums, from street vendors, malls, carnivals, ships, microwave ovens, homemade, and nearly everywhere else shy of with green eggs and ham. This place takes the cake... errr soft pretzel dough... as the BEST we've ever had! We discovered this small shop walking near the top of the hill in "downtown Berlin" on a frigid winter day. Talk about hitting the spot with a handful of hot, soft, chewy, buttery goodness. What do you write about a pretzel place? Usually, you wouldn't write anything. You'd go there, pay for the pretzel, get handed something that's been riding a carousel for three hours, eat it, then stroke out from the amount of coarse rock salt that they seemingly shoveled on there. That's not the case with the Pretzel Nook. My wife and I stumbled upon it a few years back, and now, every single time we are in the area, we make a special trip just to go. It's not like any pretzel I've ever had before. They usually have a few pretzels sitting there, and you'd think when you walk in that that's what you're getting, but NO! You get a fresh baked pretzel instead! It's happened every time we've went! You order, they roll out the dough, form it by hand, bake it in the oven, dip it in butter, and hand it to you still piping hot! And this isn't like a pretzel you'd get at a sporting event or the movie theater or Costco. This is delicious, soft, sweet yet savory pretzel perfection! I understand they have other types of pretzels there too! I wouldn't know though, I can't seem to order anything else rather than the original recipe pretzel because it's just that good! Do yourself a favor the next time you are in Berlin, go visit some quilt shops, look at the consignment stores, peruse some finely built Amish furniture, but make sure you leave time to stop into the Pretzel Nook! read more

We stopped in here to grab a pretzel while visiting the touristy bits of Amish Country. Immediately after ordering our pretzel I was kinda surprised to see the lady tie the pretzel knot, toss it on a pan, and pop it into the hot box. A few minutes later our pretzel emerged and I stood in awe as she dredged the entire thing through a __BATH OF MELTED BUTTER__ before leaving it to drip on a rack for a few moments. Shake of salt and it was in my hand. Skip the cheese, there's no need for it given the primetime explosion of flavor that hot fresh pretzel dough and melted butter with *just* enough salt can provide. Not sure I blinked in the amount of time it took us to devour this pretzel. My husband had gone out the night before looking for snacks and beer to begin our weekend getaway. While he was searching, he spotted the Pretzel Nook and filed it away for the next day. When we came in here, the pretzel cook let us know it would be a minute before we had a pretzel because she was having trouble keeping up with demand--don't worry, we weren't mad. What's better than a FRESH soft pretzel? THIS SOFT PRETZEL. She made the thing as we watched and then bathed it in hot butter. We got cheese, but it was completely unnecessary because this buttery dough was perfection. It was melt-in-your-mouth good. I came here a few days with some other church members while in Berlin. Came here as I heard the pretzels were amazing! I had a traditional pretzel with jalapeño cheese. It was pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the biggest and best pretzel I'd ever had. It was kind've small actually. Taste wise, it was very tasty! However, I was hoping for something a bit "more." I guess I'm just used to the Annie Anne's Pretzels and how massive they are. Three stars isn't bad. It's still an "A-ok" rating. Would probably stop here again if I'm in the area. read more
