Stopped in on a road trip to Akron and I'm so glad I did! This is the cutest little shop! Lots of delicious flavors and options! I had the caramel apple flavor and while it was super coated, it wasn't overbearingly sweet, I'm sure this one is seasonal so grab it while you can! I also had the cheddar and Carmel kettle corn and they were great as well! Loved the cheddar and even contemplated returning on the way back to grab some more! They also have cookies, biscotti and scones, as well as an assortment of candy and snacks so this is the perfect place to stop in while traveling, visiting Cuyahoga Valley National Park or just in the area if you're local! Definitely recommend'!

The popcorn is fresh and tasty. There are many flavors to try. My favorite is the Peninsula Mix.

Who doesn't love sweets/candy?!?! Well, I met someone once who hates cake but no one is judging her…read more:) As for me, give me all the chocolate (milk not dark). Let's get into this review.... I visited for the first time on a Friday evening in early October 2024. I never knew this candy store existed so it was fun to check it out. I had just finished dinner at Pizza 216 down the street so as I was walking back to my car, I stumbled upon Rocket Fizz. My friend who was with me has been here before and said she loved the candy shop. We briefly decided to stop in to browse, mostly because I was curious and wanted to visit. All the bright colours from the outside looking inside enticed me to enter and will probably entice you too (see my attached photos). SWEETS GALORE -- If you enjoy sweets/candy then this is your sugar heaven! You'll find all sorts of chocolate, soft drinks (soda/pop), chips, gum, etc. They sell many drinks and chips from Asia that have unique flavours (something you may find in Japan or Korea) so I thought that was cool. I saw plenty of bubble tea drinks and traditional soft drinks such as Coke and orange flavoured drinks. I only browsed for about 5 minutes with my friend but I ended up buying some taffy's (chewy sweets) which cost 15 cents each. Most of their chocolate bars were an average cost of $6+ for a small size. I also bought a "Hubba Bubba" (bubblegum) that is shaped as tape so it's called Bubble Tape. If you have kids or a niece and nephew, bring them here as they will love it even though your dentist might not. I had fun browsing and while I wanted to buy a unique sweet/candy item, I just did not feel like spending too much money right then. The two store associates working that evening were friendly and answered all my questions. I'll certainly be back as I'm a sweet tooth. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 128/150 total reviews in 2024 - 777 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 9 December 2024

And pop. Ended up with some candy and ice cream. I got the Lake Erie Cookie Monster, which had chunks of cookie dough, etc., in it and was tinted blue. Fun and refreshing. Kid K liked her vanilla. Service was great. Prices are fair. The place is cool. Free city parking across the street. Wish we had this in my town; combine Rocket Fizz and a local toy store and a small ice cream shop, and you'd get close.

Great location: It's located on W Water Street, just WSW of Columbus avenue...it's right in heart of (resurgent) downtown Sandusky. 2. Sweets: They have a very nice selection of olde tyme candy. You'll find the likes of Abba-Zabba, Goo Goo Cluster, Chick-o-Sticks, wax mustaches/lips/fangs, etc. Obviously, they have newer brands, as well. 3. Drinks: They have a superior selection of "craft" pop, including diet Dang, the best diet pop in the world. Also, I saw Ale 8, Moxie, Cheerwine, about 75 varieties of Root beer, and a bunch more pop. 4. They have ice cream floats (can't vouch for these...yet). ...best of all... 5. The back room: It's part pop culture museum (from the 50s to the 2000s) and part flea market. Need a poster of Wonder Woman (either Lynda or Gal), John Wayne, Arnold, or Magic Johnson? Get it here. Desire to posses the Gorf cartridge or Activision Football cartridge for your Atari 2600? You're covered. Want that Fat Albert board game that you've been missing since 1973? You're in luck. There are TONS of things to check out and, if you choose, to buy. I bought a couple of books that I had as a kid and haven't seen since the 80s...("The Encyclopedia of Hostile Aliens," and "Earth's Greatest Interstellar Battles"). 6. Video Games: This is especially cool...in the back room, you'll find a MultiGame machine that's in great condition. 55 games...1 quarter per play. Come in on Friday and you'll find that it's set on "free play." Yep. I don't know about you, but the next time I'm in Sandusky, with or without the kids, drunk or sober, naked or fully clothed, I'm stopping at Soda Pop's, and ain't nobody stoppin' me! FIVE STARS!

When entering the candy shop, you may be given a bag or metal bin to choose candy. The candy is primarily sold and weighed by the pound. You are able to pick and mix the candy in your bin whether you like dark chocolate, milk chocolate, caramels, maples, chocolate with pretzels etc. If you have friends and loved ones out of town, Heggys does have the option to have your chocolates mailed from their location across the country. A great idea for any occasion. People love their Heggys Chocolate and nuts Candy by the pound is around $15.50. There is also a nut counter with mixed nuts, pecans, hazelnuts, cashews and more. Behind the counter, workers work diligently individually wrapping various chocolates and caramels with each day being different candies for the week wrapped. A few of my personal favorites: milk chocolate marshmallows and the milk chocolate maple cremes. During Easter time, there will be an assortment of solid milk chocolate bunnies and crosses.
