Salad bar items were fresh and delicious. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and other buffet items were very good. Only a few dessert items were available as it was a holiday and the dessert line was made into a second food line to accommodate a large crowd. The food was good but hardly worth the $25 bill IMO. Service was good not great. Ambiance good as well .

Stopped here today after shopping all day. We were seated quickly with a beautiful view of the outside and headed to the lunch buffet. I had a chicken breast, noodles over mash potatoes and a salad. We were given fresh warm rolls with our lunch. The server was friendly. The chicken was moist and tender and the noodles were tasty and hot. Loved the salad bar. It had many options. Everything was clean and tidy.

We've been coming to Der Dutchman for a few years now, a couple times a year. It's a consistent place where you know what you're going to get and while it might not be Michelin starred, there's something to be said for that. The food is good quality, and my toddler especially enjoys the broasted chicken and noodles from the buffet. The view out of the panoramic windows on one side of the dining room are stunning throughout the seasons, including winter. The staff members are friendly and have been lovely to my girl-both as a newborn and now a one year old. We like coming here after a busy day around Amish Country, like Hershberger's and Sheiyah Market (which is less than 10 mins away!). We hope to get here early enough for a brunch buffet one of these days!

We celebrated my birthday here and it was a great experience. The staff was friendly and did a thorough job. The restaurant offers the option to order from a menu or use the buffet. The pictures shown are from the buffet (my plating habits, not theirs). The food and salad bar were delicious for the most part. Due to the broasted chicken being on a buffet, I feel caused the lack of juiciness. However, the broasted chicken was still very good. Der Dutchman does special things if you let them know it's your birthday. The peanut butter spread was amazing & sold in their stores!!

I just had lunch here, Wednesday 4-08-26 around 11am, the server's name was I believe Betty. From a view standpoint this is one of the best, if not the best dining room view in the state. They let me have a window table on request. For $14.99 you can get their salad bar only, the dinner and lunch buffet is $19.99. From a value standpoint you can't beat that. A buffet can't get any better than this, they also have a menu that you can order off of. This review is for their Walnut Creek location, there is also a location right off of I-71. The food at both locations has been outstanding over the years. They have a banquet room overlooking beautiful Ohio farm country.

I recently ate here for the first time in a few years and this place is still BUSYYYY. We had the salad bar and the hot food buffet. The salad bar is a 10/10 but the hot food was so disappointing. The only thing I liked was the mac n cheese. Next time I will only be getting the salad bar and some desserts to go instead of the hot food buffet as well.

This place is located in the heart of an Amish town and is quite spacious. It's very well-maintained and can seat a large number of people, with even private party rooms available. The view is lovely, and the service was excellent. They offer a buffet, although I didn't get a chance to try it fully. The food I did have was quite good--cooked well and nicely seasoned. The sweet potato fries were particularly tasty, and the chicken noodle soup had a homemade flavor that was very satisfying. The homemade chicken pot pie was warm, hearty, and filling. Don't forget to visit the attached bakery, which offers a variety of freshly made treats , from donuts and cookies to cakes. They seem to bake fresh items daily, and everything I saw looked really appealing. Overall, a very nice place to dine.

What a great experience... Super impressed that they got everything so right. The restaurant has a nice decor - not too much but just enough to make it feel homey and clean. The staff was amazingly friendly. The waitress was awesome. The food was good - not your typical buffet. This was a great place for a lunch...

We enjoyed having a small semi-private room.

The homemade food was great on the buffet. Everything was fresh and hot. Our server was fantastic. We had a group of 20 from our church. It was really nice to have a small room to ourselves. (Glad we had reservations!)

Amish Country at its best!…read more This is a gem of a restaurant. We found this place thanks to the great reviews on Yelp. We were not familiar with Baltic, Ohio, yet we were so happy we found this place. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, it felt like we were eating in someone's home. Christian, the manager, could have not done anything more to accommodate us. He really went out of his way to enhance our experience. Our waitress, Arlene, had told us she had been there for several years and you could really tell this by her ability to help us through the menu. She wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied. The menu was one like I had never seen before. Everything from a large breakfast selection to Wagyu and Prime steaks. I had the best Ruben sandwich I had ever eaten ( that is saying a lot). We also shared the Wagyu filet with hand cut fries and sweet potato fries. The steak was sautéed with fresh mushrooms and onions. The steak was seasoned to absolute perfection. You have to try this. I have posted pictures of the menu. Don't forget a side order of homemade mac & cheese. Their prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality of the food and the impeccable service. The decor is perfect. Simple yet very pretty. They even have a nice area (living room style) that we hung out in until our table was ready. This Amish restaurant is the "best of the best". I will be back in this area next year and will be sure to make this my go to restaurant. Bravo to the staff and chef, well done.

Pork chop was cooked alright, but definitely needed a sauce to add some flavor as it was bland. Coconut mango rice was sad (my wife is filipino so she knows a bit about rice, mangoes, and coconut). I had the reuben and it was alright. I don't understand why all the steaks and fish are "market price" on the menu. This is not a fancier restaurant that serves wagyu, why can you not figure out how to price half of your meats? Service = Good with no problems. Restaurant = Stylish, Spacious, and Clean.

Our server was extremely friendly and great! Foodwise, we ordered the veggie quiche with a side of the house tomato basil soup and the bistro burger (bacon added) with a side of their soup of the day, cheesy potato. They have a variety of specialty coffee drinks but I chose to order the lightly sweetened peach tea for something different. My husband really enjoyed his burger and said it was well seasoned. He enjoyed the potato soup also and only wished they had fries to enjoy with the burger. My tomato basil soup was tasty! The quiche needed seasoning...I had to add salt and pepper and hot sauce and it could have done without all the extra cheese sprinkled on top. It came with a slice of blueberry bread though which was nice! The peach tea was refreshing as a change but I'd go with coffee next time. All in all we'd eat there again for sure and would try one of their delectable-looking pastries next time too. Thank you for a nice lunch, Rebecca's Bistro!
