They have amazing artwork and creations for sale (ONLY LOCAL) in the front "gallery" half, and a large workplace with tables and supplies galore in the back. They have "classes" of sorts during the week where you pay a small amount of $10, and can either bring in your own project to work on, or a lovely volunteer staff member can help you create anything you can think of: with open use of ANYTHING they have! On the last Saturday night of every month, they have 'Drink and Draw +color': a free event (where donations are welcome), they have wines, music, sometimes bites to nosh on, and markers, pencils, and supplies to use for anyone to make some art! Definitely a new monthly tradition for my mother, sister, and myself. This place is a haven for quirkiness and creativity alike, and it's so wonderful to see a small city (who admittedly has had trouble supporting the arts in the past) keep a place like this thriving. The historic office is preserved and described in one of the galleries. I was greeted warmly. The exhibits are found on 2 floors of the building. Very well done exhibits. I loved the amazing artwork by local artists, real talent. The gift shop has a good selection of local crafts and arts reasonably priced. If you have time, pick up the brochure and do the walking tour of town. I'll have to return to do that on my next trip.

The staff is wonderful and the artwork featured during this particular event was stellar! I bought a piece and had to keep myself from purchasing several more. I made a resin…read morecharcuterie board, a small rectangular one as I really want to hang it rather than use it as intended. My limited creativity still delivered a very nice piece. Using completely different materials and techniques was a great learning experience. If you make a charcuterie board tiny glitter is available to enhance your piece. Two of my fellow participants added it to their handiwork, and it really enhanced their pieces. Must pick up the next day so factor that into your plans. I considered doing a crushed glass piece too but it seemed beyond my creative skills. Some of the crushed glass pieces are easier than others. Separately, they had some commissioned work being done and the skills of the staff are simply amazing. Would definitely try this again. Well worth the cost.

They had so many works of art on the walls to help with inspiration. The price was very reasonable considering you get a lesson, an hour to make your glass piece, and you get to go home with an original piece of art. I highly recommend taking a class and I look forward to doing this again!! Whether you're looking for a rainy day activity, need some time for yourself, or need to get some creative juices flowing, this art studio is the place to go!
