This place's lacking of time and space means that, if we are to cope comfortably, our preparation must be better, and execution smoother. The nautical decor here is pitifully over-done, a niche business maybe in some way, but those thoughts are buried in the tales from the old shop reviewed here, you can still see the old decaying abandoned building on a seaside street on the edge of town. I entered this new shop without reservations even after listening to a pair of customers exiting the business filled with disappointment. I had no prior knowledge or bias, so I own my opinion expressed here. There was no interaction with the staff, she seemed pre-occupied behind the counter sitting with her back to the customers the entire time. I live near a beach so I completely understand the seafaring theme but I had no idea by the store name that I was entering a shop with such a narrow focus so I guess that was my biggest disappointment besides the pricing, I felt the quality of a lot of the pieces didn't match the asking price but then again nothing here had me drooling to negotiate a better price. I walked the entire property in under fifteen minutes which was plenty of time to view everything including a little room off the main floor that was partially filled with Native American art and trinkets, personally I wouldn't have a reason to stop in again... read more

As I had parked next door by accident, I determined that I would have to pop in to this unusual looking shop on the way back to my vehicle. With a mermaid statue calling me from across the street, I checked it out. Tin Shed is an antique and curio shop with all sorts of interesting stuff. Some of it obviously nautical themed but the rest of it just seems jumbled. Prices on most items were marked and while some of it was more pricey than I wanted to spend today, it was definitely a curious shop. If you're looking to outfit your den with anchors and buoys and life savers, this is the spot. I was not disturbed during my browse, which was nice. Well...this used to be our favorite spot in Apalachicola. To our horror, they have moved it to the old Papa Joes location in downtown Apalach. What the hell were you thinking? Instead of a quirky little spot, it now looks like a bunch of touristy crap crammed into a old restaurant, all organized. Part of the charm of the old Tin Shed location was...well...the location. Now...it's just another gift shop with nothing special to offer. Damn. When they moved Papa Joes to that crappy location, it didn't take it long to close up. I hope the Tin Shed doesn't suffer the same fate but ...Sorry to say it... we won't be back. read more

The worst customer service, EVER!!!!! Rude doesn't even touch it! The old woman behind the counter could only ask where did you get that from with the most hateful scowl on her face. As I placed an item on the counter . Neat place to browse but I would not dare go back in with Granny Grunt spreading her rays of darkness and nastiness! read more
