The nautical decor here is pitifully over-done, a niche business maybe in some way, but those thoughts are buried in the tales from the old shop reviewed here, you can still see the old decaying abandoned building on a seaside street on the edge of town. I entered this new shop without reservations even after listening to a pair of customers exiting the business filled with disappointment. I had no prior knowledge or bias, so I own my opinion expressed here. There was no interaction with the staff, she seemed pre-occupied behind the counter sitting with her back to the customers the entire time. I live near a beach so I completely understand the seafaring theme but I had no idea by the store name that I was entering a shop with such a narrow focus so I guess that was my biggest disappointment besides the pricing, I felt the quality of a lot of the pieces didn't match the asking price but then again nothing here had me drooling to negotiate a better price. I walked the entire property in under fifteen minutes which was plenty of time to view everything including a little room off the main floor that was partially filled with Native American art and trinkets, personally I wouldn't have a reason to stop in again...

We waited around 20 minutes for a table, grabbed two beers from the bar, and sat outside while we waited. Once seated, we were "greeted" by our server, and that interaction set the tone for the rest of the evening. She was rude, short, and overall unpleasant. She never checked in after any course, seemed uninterested in our experience, and at times even slammed food onto the table. Every interaction felt rushed, and as soon as she came by, she was quick to disappear. It felt like she had no concern for our satisfaction throughout the meal. We had planned on staying for dessert and another round of drinks, but honestly felt uncomfortable doing so. When we asked for a box, she already had the check in hand. While I understand wanting to be efficient and prepared, given her attitude throughout the night it came across more like she was trying to rush us out than provide good service. The food truly was excellent, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, we did not get her name, but she was blonde and wearing a pink shirt. I get being busy but this was simply not the case.

The hotel is at the end of a street, a bit secluded, and definitely peaceful. You are one to two blocks from three restaurants, and about 6 blocks from downtown Apalachicola, a very pleasant walk. We were surprised that there was a way to check in for a table on the yelp app, but unfortunately didn't realize it until we were five minutes away. For a party of ten on a Wednesday night, we waited around one and a half hours. We were sat inside- we enjoyed the live music they had going on. Our server Richard was fantastic. One of my biggest pet peeves is having an empty drink cup. There wasn't a time throughout the night this happened. He checked on us multiple times, and was overall great at his job. The food was also fantastic. Would highly recommend the gumbo for everyone. It had a nice kick to it, but not super overpowering. I had the chicken fried chicken for my main. Tons of food for the price. The fries were crispy and had a nice seasoning on them. The chicken had a nice crunch, and the gravy was a nice addition. Overall, great vibes, great service, great food. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Would recommend signing up for the wait list earlier than later as wait times could be long (but totally worth the wait).

We looked up reviews and came across Bud & Alley's Restaurant as a likely way to do so. We were quite pleased with our experience once we found a table. When we arrived where you could make a reservation for a table downstairs, we were told the better views were upstairs with tables available for anyone who found them. We walked around for a while looking for a table opening up and though we didn't find any tables on the deck upstairs, we did find one with a gorgeous view well before sunset. The server being one of only a few there that night checked on us many times and was very helpful. We each ordered drinks. I got a Frozen Beach Bellini consisting of Lamarca prosecco with peach purée topped with an edible orchid. Then, when ordering dinner, my friend and I each ordered an eight ounce filet mignon consisting of grilled asparagus, Yukon mashed potatoes, and bordelaise sauce. My wife ordered a roasted salmon consisting of green lentils with pancetta and fennel, arugula, and dijon vinaigrette. We were quite delighted with everything we ate and drank! Bud & Alley's has been an award winning iconic restaurant in Seaside Florida since 1986, serving delicious farm- and fish-to-table food, offering exceptional service and making seaside memories for generations. They offer oysters and a catch-of-the-day and all the seafood things you would desire by the water. The atmosphere is strange to me. In an attempt for Seaside to remain kid-friendly, the overall grown experience has slipped through the cracks. I had the catch-of-the-day, which was a triple tail on a bed of creamed corn.
