The nautical decor here is pitifully over-done, a niche business maybe in some way, but those thoughts are buried in the tales from the old shop reviewed here, you can still see the old decaying abandoned building on a seaside street on the edge of town. I entered this new shop without reservations even after listening to a pair of customers exiting the business filled with disappointment. I had no prior knowledge or bias, so I own my opinion expressed here. There was no interaction with the staff, she seemed pre-occupied behind the counter sitting with her back to the customers the entire time. I live near a beach so I completely understand the seafaring theme but I had no idea by the store name that I was entering a shop with such a narrow focus so I guess that was my biggest disappointment besides the pricing, I felt the quality of a lot of the pieces didn't match the asking price but then again nothing here had me drooling to negotiate a better price. I walked the entire property in under fifteen minutes which was plenty of time to view everything including a little room off the main floor that was partially filled with Native American art and trinkets, personally I wouldn't have a reason to stop in again...

And there is a swimming pool on property. Our "apartment" faced the canal, so we could watch shrimpers and other boats going out or coming in from the bay all day long, and enjoy the breeze. The hotel is at the end of a street, a bit secluded, and definitely peaceful. You are one to two blocks from three restaurants, and about 6 blocks from downtown Apalachicola, a very pleasant walk. And if you have Kids, Apalachicola is very flat, and children can safely ride their bicycles from this property to the restaurants (With your supervision, of course).

Full living room full kitchen, nice balcony looking over river. Needless to say but I was impressed. Rates were extremely reasonable online and Ladonna even was able to find me a slightly lower rate when I asked if any better rates were available upon checkin. Definitely recommend and would stay again even if not forced to leave island.

5 Stars -- What a Fantastic Find!…read more Grocery Kitchen & Tap Room absolutely exceeded our expectations! As locals, we've visited quite a few restaurants in the area, and this one truly stands out. First, Sandy provided excellent service -- friendly, attentive, and made our entire experience even better. We had the Starliner, and the flavor was outstanding! The gravy was easily some of the best we've had -- rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We also tried the Lighter Selection dinner, featuring their famous Brussels sprouts tossed in hot honey and voodoo sauce, paired with blackened shrimp and green beans. WOW! Completely out of this world. The combination of sweet, spicy, smoky flavors was incredible. And then there's the tap selection! We have honestly never seen anything quite like it. They even had ACE Pineapple, Pear AND Peach -- I would go back just for that! We didn't have room for dessert this time, but that just gives us another reason to return soon. Such a great atmosphere with the perfect combination of a historic vibe and modern grill. Excellent food, fantastic service, and an unbelievable tap selection. We can't wait to go back! Definitely a 5-star experience!

The tomatoes came topped with a flavorful crawfish étouffée, and the bread pudding was served warm with vanilla ice cream and praline pecans. Both dishes were packed with flavor. The fish was cooked perfectly, though I wasn't a huge fan of the toasted almonds on the Snapper Amandine. I've also heard great things about their burgers and fried strawberries. Service was excellent. This is a great spot whether you're looking for a quick lunch, a nice dinner, or a Sunday brunch.
