I was going to wait to write this review because my daughter still attends, but I am highly annoyed…read moreat this school. After 6 months, I am very close to removing my child! I cannot say this school is all bad, because my daughter wouldn't be here. I like her teacher Ms. Jewels and the other teachers in her class. They try to make the most out of their limited resources. I also love Ms. Jordan at the front desk. She goes out of her way daily to make my daughter feel special. From stickers to compliments, my daughter loves her! One of my first and main issues is with the head of administration. I homeschooled my child until she was almost 3. Because of that, Ms. T and I discussed my daughter staying in the two-year-old class until her 3rd birthday in October. She told me there will be room for my child in the regular 3-year-old classroom. The last time we discussed this was a month before my daughter's birthday, and once she turned 3, the classes were full. She then told me my child can go into the 3-year-old classroom that has kids who need additional assistance, because she doesn't think my daughter is ready for the regular PreK3. Because she's only over the admin, in my opinion, she's not qualified to tell me what my daughter is ready for... especially since the person over education and her current teacher said they recommend my child go to PreK3. They really allow this woman to make recommendations for children when she doesn't work directly with them. In addition, she has a terrible attitude. She will speak to you depending on her mood, and that's not the best attitude to have when working around children. I often ask myself if I am over exaggerating, but my neighbor didn't choose this Cedars because she felt the staff had an attitude problem when she called for the first time. Another major issue I had at this school was when they allowed a part-time teacher conduct an assessment on my child. The assessment was so bad that I couldn't sleep that night. They said my child doesn't know simple concepts, such as in or out, she can't draw a straight line, etc. That day, I took my child home and recorded her doing everything the assessment said she couldn't do. If anyone needed to conduct an assessment, it should've been her lead teacher. Her lead teacher was surprised by the assessment. She said she never questioned my child's ability because she knew everyone's name in the class by the 2nd week of school, recognized and spelled her name, etc. After they viewed my videos, the school's education advisor assessed my daughter. She told me I was right. My daughter can do "All the things!" These are a few examples of how they have unqualified people doing unqualified things. If my child didn't have present parents who speak up for her, they would've put a label on her and moved on to the next child. You would think people in this position know the difference between a child who actually doesn't know things and one who's still coming out of their shell because they went from one-on-one learning to 20 students and 2 teachers. Another thing I have to mention is that last week the flu was going around. I was told they were going to put up signs, but they didn't have ink. Apparently, they didn't think to email everyone. I've watched this school wait until 3pm to call parents about a sick child. At that point, everyone could make contact with the sick person. I could really continue, but I have said enough. Ultimately, the issue falls on the school's director. Everything reflects poor leadership. I have come to her numerous times, and she basically tells me what she thinks I want to hear without taking any action behind her words. I will not fault the Cedars brand because I am still open to other locations, but the McDonough location needs some changes, fast!

I called Aug 2025 about a Pre K spot for my son. I was told March 2 or 3rd the spots open and they…read moreonly have 4 spot. I was there at 4:30am the very FIRST parent to get a spot..... or so I thought. Now on June 10th I'm informed that my son is #6 on the waitlist. Mind you I only know this from randomly inquiring on when I would receive more information on school starting. The lady that answered advised I was misinformed and that it's a lottery program. Thats funny because when I reached out to Henry county they are the ones that advised me to try the daycare to get a secured spot when my son didn't receive a spot at my zoned elementary school. I even offered to switch my son's daycare to theirs to ensure he would have a PreK spot. I was told they didn't have any available 4 year old spots. She said their students moving up would receive a spot first and that they had 4 remaining spots which is why I camped outside with my then 5 month old twins trying to get my 4 year old a spot. Funny thing.. no one called to tell me I was on a waitlist after I completed all paperwork. So I called one of their other centers and asked how the GA pre K went and was advised it was NOT like the public school system lottery its first come first served and they had no spots. This is so unprofessional as it seems like my son was bumped to accommodate others they wanted to receive a spot. I was told the day I went that I had secured the first spot only to be told months later "oh you were misinformed ". Now that school starts in two months ALL the pre K spots are full. This infuriates me as I just wanted my son in a school environment instead of a daycare setting. It's clear the ones that wanted to receive spots got one..... so unprofessional. However, I take this as a sign that the professionalism would have been an issue later down the line. This says a lot to me. Very Very Very disappointed.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this daycare. I stopped by the day before to…read moreinquire about enrollment, provided the ages and information for all of my children who would potentially be attending, and requested a tour. I was told they do not allow walk-in tours and that I would need to come back the very next day for a scheduled tour. Considering this daycare is a 45-minute drive from where I live, I rearranged my schedule and made the trip back the following day. I arrived about 10 minutes before my scheduled tour time, only to be greeted by front desk staff who were rude, arrogant, and acted as if I was bothering them from the moment I walked through the door. What made the experience even more frustrating was that they then informed me there were no available spots for one of my children -- despite us discussing my children and their ages the day before. This information should have been communicated before having me drive all the way back out there. It completely wasted my time and showed a major lack of professionalism and organization. As a parent, customer service and kindness matter, especially when trusting people with your children. Unfortunately, the staff made me feel unwelcome and disrespected rather than valued as a prospective parent looking for childcare. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this daycare.

The staff is loving and kind - they genuinely care about every single child that attends. They know everyone by name and they are always there to help with anything parents may need help with in the complicated process of raising little ones. My son and my daughter have loved this place like a family - and as my son is approaching the end of pre-K at the end of this school year, we genuinely feel like it will be a loss for us as a family not having that same daily connection here. I know that they will for sure return every summer though! It's hard to find a place that is so wonderful - they focus on learning and character building - preparing for the next stage in their lives - but the kids genuinely love going as well. I can't say enough good things about this entire place - I never worry if my kids are happy and are exactly where they should be. This is a special place.
