Absolutely delightful 2 hr cruise from Newburgh NY down the Hudson to West Point and back. A number of interesting national regional and local historical sites long the way made the time pass quickly. Normally there are 75 to 90 people on board, we had a total of 14 and had the boat pretty much to ourselves. The crew on board were fantastic able to mingle with guests providing additional local information along the the way. This was a wonderful experience and delightful way to spend the afternoon drinking Spaten Oktoberfest and Kölsch while cruising down the Hudson. Thank you Diane for the inspiration!!! read more

10/25/2023: A delightful two hour afternoon tour aboard the Pride of the Hudson in Newburgh, NY. Boarding began at 12:30 pm for the 1:00 pm tour. Seating is available inside and on the top deck. A bar is located inside. The captain narrated the wonderful sites along the way-Bannerman's Island, Cold Spring, Storm King Mountain, Breakneck Mountain and West Point. The fall foliage was breathtaking. -Definitely bring binoculars for great viewing. The entire crew was wonderful. A shout out goes to Belinda. Parking is available in front of the dock. Just check-in with the crew to be sure you're in the "right parking". Please take any valuables with you. Pride of the Hudson is a wonderful experience! read more

Went on this boat last night. It was AMAZING!! The staff was super friendly, boat was clean, food and drinks was inexpensive. It was a great time!! It was my first time on a boat and I'll be honest I was scared. But I didn't even feel like I was on a boat at all!! I can't wait to go on the boat again for their 4th of July event. While the Husdon River Ride was very nice, the boat ride on this day was not. Nothing is as bad as having non working toilets. Close to 100 people were on this trip in early October. The woman's bathroom was closed. The men's bathroom had pee all over the floor 15 minutes into the trip. The toilet was not working, the urinal was messy. A staff member was alerted about the situation, but not much could be done. She said the women's bathroom was closed and not working. The odor wafted throughout the cabin the entire ride and since it was a windy day, most were in the lower cabin. A tourist fell entering the cabin, scraped her knees and was lifted up by two crew members who sat her in a chair. No one was there to alert that one had to watch their step entering. Since the door was open, the watch your step was not visible. If you did not pay attention, a trip factor was there. After the fall, someone was at the door telling everyone to watch their step. If the life jackets are on the upper level, how does one get to them in an emergency, if everyone is on the lower level? This situation could have been avoided since the Pride of the Hudson knew the group was coming well in advance. Scenery on the Hudson is spectacular anytime and well worth is if the boat is in functioning order. read more

This is always a pleasant ride on the Hudson River. We picked a great weekend, and the weather was perfect. The only negative was that it was impossible to get a drink. One person manning the bar, and it was so slow. Tried getting a drink 3 times but each time the line was just too slow. The bar on the upper deck should be open - at least for folks who want simple things like bottled beer. read more

No food, no shopping just relaxing. Saw a segment on the news about Pride of the Hudson. Did a little research on the cruises and decided to go. Price wise very reasonable. The crew was great. They interacted with the passengers. The boat was clean, well staffed and roomy. We started just south of the Newburgh Beacon bridge and went south past West Point. The weather for the cruise was perfect. Along the way the narration was very informative. The things you learned....wow! The trip was about 2 hours and well worth it. We hopped aboard for Mother's Day and highly recommend it. It's a short enough trip (from Newburgh, past Bannerman Island to West Point and back) that you can subsist on their snacks and drinks for sale but unless you have lunch planned for immediately after, you may want to bring some sandwiches. I saw their Ad on facebook one day for a "Vegan Boat Cruise" so of course I'm down for anything vegan so got Pogiebear and I tickets. The tickets were not so expensive which includes the 3 hour boat ride around the Hudson, unlimited Vegan food and Desserts, and live music for entertainment. So we drove about an hour and half from the city. All aboard the Vegan Cruise. Definitely love the view from the boat, it was such a nice change coming from the city. The nature look lovely. The crew were so helpful. I kept asking what some of the gorgeous architectures were. One of them was a military academy, which I thought looked very cool. The wind blowing our hair. We had to recreate Jack and Rose. The lady who took our pic was very nice. I don't even know where to start about the food. I left that boat happy and full. They even let is take home leftovers which I ate for lunch the next day. Definitely enjoyed myself. Will definitely be back again next year. read more

Get there early ... we had to sit inside in the beginning because all the outside seating had been taken. We were able to move outside about halfway through. We all enjoyed the trip very much. The cost of the tickets were reasonable, the boat was close to what we expected, the staff were wonderful. We could not of asked for better service, the staff were attentive and friendly. A beautiful summer ride up the Hudson River with fresh air & gorgeous scenery...what can be better? This is an older boat, but the interior has been nicely updated with comfortable chairs & an air-conditioned area on the lower level. There is a decent bar on board which sells snacks & drinks, but quite honestly, they need to hire a 2nd person to work it since it had a super long line of customers which I'm sure would rather be enjoying the cruise along the Hudson than waiting in a long line to purchase drinks/snacks. This is definitely a nice way to kill a few hours when in the Newburgh/Fishkill/Poughkeepsie/West Point area or a short detour should you have a shopping weekend at Woodbury Commons. read more

Don't go expecting a luxury yacht ride or even a mildly entertaining tour. Re order tour is B-O-R-I-N-G!! At one point the Captain of the boat took over and said a few things about West Point and he was even MORE boring! YAWN. I guess in theory it's cool to say you're taking a boat cruise, hut seriously, find another one because this one's tired. Also, the boat is run down and all the seating outside is cheap plastic chairs. read more

Me and 8 others booked this cruise last weekend for part of my sisters bachelorette. The crew was not just informative and kind, but personable too. We so enjoyed them. The bar tender was absolutely wonderful and made us great drinks. Definitely not weak and at a shockingly reasonable price. We just had so much fun and it was a beautiful way to spend a few hours. My family and I booked a trip on Pride of the Hudson this past Sunday to celebrate my grandma's birthday - there were 13 adults and two kids. From boarding to the end of the trip, we were incredibly pleased with the experience. The woman who greeted us on the dock and checked our reservation helped us to secure two tables inside the boat that would seat our party, and the rest of the crew was warm, helpful, and funny. The boat itself was great - A/C on a hot summer day was a big plus! We brought snacks and cupcakes on board, and bought some beverages on the boat (they have a nice bar with drinks and some chips, etc.). It was a fun, safe, and beautiful trip down and back up the Hudson! read more

This was such a fun experience! The staff was extremely friendly and informative. The price was extremely cost effective. My only complaint was probably not the company's fault. There was a slight septic scent to the enclosed interior. It was explained that it was caused by a treatment plant nearby. I would go again if the opportunity arises. read more

The show was super entertaining. The cast was hilarious. Food was catered from an Italian restaurant possibly a pizzeria and consisted of pastas, meatballs, salads, and I believe it was two types of chicken; the food was enjoyable. We certainly had no complaints of the food or the show. read more

This is a great way to see the Hudson Highlands, Bannerman's Castle and to learn some history about the area. This was the first time I had seen West Point from the water. Wow! It is impressive! The crew is friendly and love the area. I really enjoyed talking to the captain. You can eat and drink on board, but I didn't. It was such a lovely day that I didn't need anything else.
