We had a flat-fee agreement with Victor and we recently closed our second house purchase with him…read morebased on our positive first purchase (also reviewed by LC L.). Victor did a decent job for the price he charged. Our experience was OK until the house was closed. Unfortunately, when it comes to the commission rebate, it was a nightmare. Victor insisted to withhold the rebate "tax" even though it is deemed to be unnecessary from multiple CPAs (he verbally admitted but was tricky enough not to put anything in written). He also refused to respect his own proposal where he can simply issue me a 1099 form and let me take care of the "tax". Even after I agreed to gave him a 5-star review on Yelp and split the difference (again, he agreed verbally during our last phone call), he remained non-cooperative and started to play "disappearing" game for two months without sending the check. Maybe he is planning for his retirement or something because his service has dramatically deteriorated. It looks like he don't really care about his reputation or customers (especially the returning ones) anymore. I have to get my attorney review our communication record and plan for further legal action and an official CRA complaint. Anyway, good luck with you if you decide to work with him.
