The food was delicious and authentic, amazing customer service! The drunken noodles and spicy basil rice are my go to.

Hat Yai Chicken - I don't know how such a crispy texture could feel this airy and light at the same time, but they nailed it with the both the batter and the chicken meat itself. It takes someone truly special who knows what they're doing to produce delicious and juicy chicken breast. This chicken itself was extremely flavorful and the sauce it came with took it to the next level. Crispy Crabs - I could snack on this every single day and not be tired. These things are so tasty! The texture makes it super fun to eat and the marinade and seasoning is absolutely addicting. Pomelo Salad - Completely blew my mind at first bite. This is a dish I've seen before and tried to replicate at home without ever knowing what it was supposed to taste like. I thought my creation was decent until I tried Sovereign's version. So this is how it's really done. This dish put mine to shame (and I'm a pretty decent cook if I do say so myself). I don't think I have the audacity to make it at home again after tasting theirs. It is SO good!!! Bangkok Street Noodles - This is a brand new dish for me and the very first time I've ever had it anywhere. With that said, my point of reference isn't the best when trying to compare it. But I will say that the broth is extremely unique and tasty. Loved all the protein that came with the dish although I don't care for the basic boiled egg. I also wish it came with a lot more broth because I prefer a soupy noodle dish. I absolutely loved everything we tried here and was raving about each dish. It's the type of food that was so good, I was making very indecent noises at the table the entire duration of our meal.

Overall, really happy with our meal, but the portions are prettyyy small in my opinion for the price. Not very shareable portion sizes. Things we loved: - braised beef Penang curry - duck noodles - crispy crab - ribs Things that were just okay: - spring sticks: they only give you 4 for $14?? And they're so skinny tiny - shrimp pad Thai wasn't anything too special - crab fried rice was also fine but nothing special - the banana rolls dessert was not very good- just a banana wrapped in a spring roll wrapper and fried but no flavor tbh Flavors of all the other dishes were great! Service was alright, nothing especially outstanding but the food didn't take too long to come in. The vibes are cute here and there's lots of street parking around as long as it's not during a baseball game.

The star of the show is the Nam Kao Tod. If you like Pad Thai/Papaya Salad and you like Thai food at all, your taste buds are primed and ready for Nam Kao Tod. I swear it. The Pad Thai and Tum Woonsen were a little too tangy this time that I went. This place takes the cake for my favorite SD Thai restaurant. Service: 4/5 My water cup was never empty. The service here is great! Everyone is sweet and accommodating. Special requests are welcomed and honored. Atmosphere: 4.75/5 There is so much natural light here! It is a clean restaurant with a clean bathroom, and the music is not offensively loud. I would recommend this place for your favorite SD Thai restaurant pick. Final rating: 4.5/5 (rounding up to 5 on Yelp)

My husband and I shared an order of shrimp summer rolls (gorgeous), Khao soi duck, (they use pre-roasted Maple Farms duck in this dish, so it's not their cooking), eggplant with basil, mango with sweet sticky rice, and Thai ice tea. All delicious with good use of seasonings and nicely balanced flavors.

I got us a beautiful Airbnb right next to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Girls School (mind out of the gutter, please). It's gorgeous, but we didn't know where to eat. I did a quick Yelp Search; thank you, Yelpers! I found this place. It was only a stone's throw from where we are staying, which is a beautiful little neighborhood! I was very hungry for some reason, probably from all the moving and lifting of boxes, but we came here. I had the Garlic Pepper w/tofu stir fry, and my husband had the lo mein with mock duck. For an appetizer, we had the tofu spring rolls! DELISH. Becky, our gracious server, was wonderful and was kind enough to break out our bill. I had two Chardonnay nays (Martin reference), which were only $ 10.00 each- good wine and cheaper than that current white wine at the Whistle Stop. My dish was very good. I love the crispy broccoli, and they put some type of cabbage slaw mixed with the sauce in it, which was incredible. My husband loved his lo mein. I am not a fan of lo mein, but whatever, it smokes his shorts. We are moving out of San Diego, so over the next three to four months we will be going to new places in other neighborhoods to try them out before we leave. Beautiful ambiance too; I love the way it's decorated. They are the same group that owns my other favorite Thai place, Plumeria. One last note: some genius wrote that this isn't a good place for vegetarians; I giggled when I saw it on Yelp. Lots of vegetarian and vegan choices right on their menu.

They have a lunch special Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 3 PM, ranging from $13.95 to $15.95 depending on the protein you choose. It comes with soup and two samosas as an appetizer, which is a pretty good deal for lunch. I ordered the: * Pad Thai with Shrimp: This was delicious! I got the lowest spice level since I don't do spice, and it was perfect for me. It came with three pieces of shrimp, and the portion was a good size for lunch. The service was great. Our waiter kept our waters refilled, and our food came out in less than 10 minutes. The portions were a decent size and definitely enough to fill you up for lunch. The inside is cute and has a nice atmosphere. There was also plenty of street parking, which is always a plus. Overall, I had a good experience and am looking forward to coming back to try some of their other dishes!

Note the interior is pretty small and probably best suited for parties of 4 or less.  TOM YUM FRENCH FRIES AND WINGS: We ordered both to share with the table, and both were crispy and tasty! The fries looked super plain, but I couldn't stop reaching back for more. They're both labelled as spicy, so we were a bit worried for someone in our group who cannot handle spice at all. But even he said they weren't spicy at all--mostly just sweet. So don't let the chili pepper symbol scare you away from ordering! KHAO SOI (CHICKEN): It's not as common to see khao soi on the menu as some of the other more popular noodle dishes, so I usually try to order this if it's available! Theirs had good flavor and a generous portion of chicken.  Overall, I enjoyed all the dishes I tried here and would love to come back to try their other menu offerings! If only they were located someone with more convenient parking. Also note that it was HOT inside...we came on a warm day in August and I was drenched in sweat by the end of my meal.
