We had a wonderful experience here; walking in, the beautiful decor instantly transports you to a Southeast Asia vibe. The servers were all incredibly friendly and greeted us with genuine smiles, which really set a great tone for the meal. For starters, we ordered the fried pork appetizer and the spring rolls. I didn't really care for the pork pieces, but they had a light crispy coating and was moist. However, I felt like it lacked any distinct marinated flavor to it. The spring rolls were excellent. They came out piping hot and very crispy, with a really nice crunchy and chewy texture on the inside. The filling had glass noodles, but instead of being soft, they had a great bite to them--almost like a pancit-style chew. The Pad Thai was easily my favorite dish of the night. The noodles had that perfect chewy texture, and the flavor and spice level were spot on. We ordered a level 6 spice with chicken, which gave it just the right amount of kick to enjoy. I did have to drink multiple glasses of water, but it was absolutely worth it. The chicken itself wasn't dry at all and was very enjoyable. We also tried the ISsan Wonder, which comes with papaya salad, beef jerky, wonton chips, and sticky rice. It was a little confusing to eat together, but it was still nice to try a sample of multiple items. The standout on this platter was definitely the papaya salad. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here. They give you very generous portions for the price, and the hospitality is top-notch. They also have a happy hour menu with some appetizers priced at $9, which is a great value. I would definitely come back here and bring some friends along next time.

Classic convoy staple that we have been going to throughout the years. The atmosphere is cute with very nice little decoration throughout the restaurant. Got pad kee mao (8 spicy, which was decently tolerable, I would consider getting more if you are preferring more hissing spicy). Papaya salad is a solid classic. Would recommend. Their pa nang curry was really yummy and had a strong kick so you will really feel that spice. Server was attentive, checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Overall would come back, perhaps get stronger spice as well nice time.

Walked in for dinner because the place we originally wanted to go was busy. We were sat immediately and I was shocked at how beautiful the interior was! I've seen this place advertised on DoorDash but I was not expecting it to be decorated the way it was. Our server was very quick in getting our order and the food came out very fast! We ordered the rangoons, pad thai, and drunken noodles. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were huge! The only downside was that I ordered a strawberry lemonade cocktail and it didn't have a lot of alcohol so that was a bit disappointing. Other than that everything was great, highly recommend!

Mhee was very attentive! Great service. My shrimp wrapped in egg noodles was a little overcooked - it should be golden not light brown. Usually their food is really good so I was surprised. My friend really enjoyed her food. My normal go to when I come here is shrimp pad Thai. Perhaps I should've stuck to my normal order

Whimsical decorations inside, with tables and booth, bench seating. A wide selection of dishes and spice levels. The tom yum noodle soup was delicious. Service was quick, staff was attentive and interior was clean.

Our new Thai restaurant spot! Welcoming atmosphere. First customers after opening @ 11AM. Got our orders within 10-15 mins. Som Tum (Thai Papaya Salad) - Crunchy and fresh papaya strips and veggies combined with the perfect balance of sour, sweetness and salty umami flavor with just a slight hint of spicy as we requested. 5/5 Shrimp Pad Thai - right amount and balance of sourness, sweet and saltiness. Perfectly cooked noodles and generous amount of shrimp. 5/5 Panang Curry (Beef) - tender beef and vegetables with the right thickness of rich/creamy coconut/peanut sauce the way we like it. We prefer meat cubes rather sliced beef. 4/5 Mango Sticky Rice - Rich and melt in your mouth sticky rice with thick not too sweet coconut sauce. Forgot to ask where they get their mangoes, it was sweet. 5/5 Staff were nice and attentive. Highly recommended if you're looking/craving for delicious Thai food! No issues with parking during our lunch.

My daughter and I went here to celebrate my birthday. They have the best Pad Thai and tom yum soup. The best part , server came out with birthday cake that was so delicious. Server so nice and overall was a great experience. Definitely we will come back again.

I had a very enjoyable meal on a Thursday night recently. I ordered a couple different dishes, and they were all good in their own ways! Service was good. They came by to remind us that kitchen was closing. E1 pineapple fried rice $18.95 - I always love cashews in pineapple fried rice B5 papaya salad $12.45 - spicy level 6 was good D3 Chiang Mai steak khao soi $32.95 - steak was sooo tender. Highly recommend! E4 Bangkok ribeye salad $32.95 - Steak was so good. Salad was so refreshing. I loved this dish! Parking is plentiful in this plaza shared with Nijiya market. Apple Pay accepted No outdoor seating

Koon Thai is surprisingly decent, probably one of the better Thai places around San Diego! They have a variety of this dishes that aren't very common at other restaurants like boat noodles! Service was quick and attentive. The interior is really nice, very well decorated..perfect for a date night

We got seated right away and l the restaurant was decorated with so many beautiful Thai pieces! The servers were so sweet and quick! Food was amazing!!! We loved the chicken larb! They even gave us extra spicy sauce on the side since my bf likes spicy and I can't do spicy. Tom yum with the giant prawns were good but definitely on the sweet side. But our favorite of the night was the soft shell crab pad Thai!! We still think about this dish & think of driving down from OC just for it! The crab was crispy and there were pieces of crab meat in the pad Thai mixed with the eggs!! So delicious! 10/10

Ordered takeout of the chicken pad Thai my first time at Koon Thai Kitchen. As someone who can't tolerate spicy I appreciated that mild was actually only lightly spicy. The menu is labeled clearly with allergens. The pad Thai was good, not great. The sauce was slightly greasy and heavy for my taste but the portion size was good. I would go back and try other options for sure.

Finally stopped into this cute spot on Convoy after walking past it so many times! The interior is charming, but the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. We arrived around 8:00 PM, and even though the restaurant wasn't full, it took quite a while for us to be seated. It felt a bit odd since there was no line, though they do close at 9:00 PM. What we ordered: The Steak Salad was delicious - the apple slices added a perfect, crisp sweetness. The Pad See Ew with chicken was easily my favorite dish of the night. The Tom Yum Noodle Soup was just okay - I really wish it had vegetables to round it out. My friend also found the Thai Tea to be a bit too sweet for her taste. We asked for "Medium" spice level for everything, but it all came out spice-less. Having to add our own chili at the table definitely took away from the flavor profile. The staff began cleaning around us while we were still eating, which made the end of the meal feel a little rushed. We eventually headed out around 9:30 PM. Overall, it's a lovely restaurant with solid food, but the service timing and spice accuracy were a bit off this time around.

There sure are a lot of things to pick from the menu. Eventually I went with something I never tried. I also tried their thai tea, which is really sweet. The place is decorated with a lot of things. The pork was very crispy and the sauce in the noodle was tasty.

Super flavorful, fresh, with the perfect amount of wasabi. The crispy baby crab was savory and easy to eat, especially since you're eating the whole crab, shell and all. The curry in the braised beef panang was so addicting, I couldn't stop eating it. The crab fried rice was tasty and filling. For dessert we got the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were fresh and sweet. Overall pretty standard but still yummy. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. All the food came out in the timely manner. After a long work…read moreweek, I pictured myself enjoying a quiet, peaceful dinner where I could decompress and recharge. Instead, I accidentally walked into what felt like the culinary cousin of a nightclub. The music was pumping, the energy was high, and any thoughts of a tranquil retreat disappeared faster than my appetizer. Maybe it's a completely different vibe during the day, but at night, this place is definitely alive. That said, once I adjusted my expectations (and accepted that my meditation session would have to wait), I had a great time. The restaurant is located inside Sky Deck, an indoor food hall with multiple vendors. Finding it felt a bit like a scavenger hunt since the signage wasn't very obvious, but after asking around, I eventually made my way there. I started with the garlic green beans after seeing another reviewer rave about them, and wow- they were not exaggerating. The dish arrived with a tiny umbrella perched on top, which was both adorable and unexpectedly glamorous for a plate of green beans. This appetizer was small but mighty. Every bite was packed with flavor, and if I hadn't already ordered an entrée, I absolutely would have ordered a second round. For my main course, I chose the Pad See Ew with fried tofu at medium spice. Apparently, their definition of "medium" and my definition of "medium" are not close relatives. This dish came with a kick! Halfway through, I found myself wishing I had ordered something sweet to balance things out. Instead, I bravely faced the spice armed only with hot water and a slice of lime. Um, it was a battle. While the portion size wasn't quite as large as what I've seen at similar restaurants, it ended up being exactly the right amount for me that evening. I left satisfied without feeling overly full. The service was wonderful as well. The waitresses were kind, and the hostess checked in during my meal, which made the experience feel welcoming and attentive. Although I didn't get the quiet, zen-like end to my work week that I had envisioned, I ended up enjoying something different: a fun solo date surrounded by great food, upbeat music, and the infectious energy of the crowd. Sometimes the universe gives you a peaceful retreat, and sometimes it gives you spicy noodles and a soundtrack. This time, I got the latter- and I'm not mad about it.
