Despite a gorgeous interior and prime location in lower Fells, Prima Dopo unfortunately fell flat everywhere else on our first time dining. Walking into this main drag of Thames on the water spot, you can immediately appreciate how much more spacious it is than appears. The restaurant extends far back in classic row home style, with a sleek, chic interior. While greeted quickly at the table, service became a bit confusing/muddled after that, with us left wondering at times who our server actually was and having to flag someone down for orders throughout. As a vegetarian, I was keen on potentially trying one of the pasta mains. I inquired as to whether any could be made vegetarian (all contain meat on the menu), but was never given an answer, so ultimately never ordered. The cocktail menu is appealing at the outset, but the menu is severely lacking on the craft beer side. I ordered a glass of pinot noir, which I could have gone without. We ended up ordering the Burrata and Caesar salad to share. The Burrata presentation was a bit lacking, with the prosciutto piled on a bit haphazardly, burying the grilled peaches and tomatoes (making it less approachable for me to eat around as a vegetarian). The bread not only cost extra to add, but was cut too narrowly to easily assemble a "bite". The Caesar salad was fine. Solid take on a classic but nothing earth shattering. Overall, I wasn't impressed enough to consider a repeat visit. read more

We sat in the middle dining area in a lovely, spacious booth. We both enjoyed our cocktails. I would even go as far as to say my Honeydew Crush is now one of my favorite drinks in Baltimore! The Charcuterie Board appetizer was fantastic. We're typically underwhelmed by the amount of meats and cheeses on boards at most restaurants, but this one was well worth the price. My Spaghetti Carbonara was delicious and incredibly flavorful. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. My fiancé's pizza was really great as well. The hot honey really made it stand out! We finished out with the Rosemary and Fig Bread Pudding. This had such a unique flavor profile from the rosemary and I would definitely order it again! Our server was very attentive and proactive. We went here for Mother's Day brunch and it was delicious! I got the Burrata with grilled peaches and tomatoes and prosciutto. The two best things on our table were the cinnamon French toast with a cream cheese filling and the crab omelette. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has lovely booths and natural light toward the front! The iced coffee tasted like a Vietnamese coffee... Very good. Beautiful venue. It was a nice relaxed chill spot compared to the craziness going on at these other spots on a weekend night. I enjoyed a very strong beverage from a handsome black man at the bar. The security makes it seem like it may be a rowdy place. But once you go in it's an illusion that separates you from the rest of the areas chaos. The decor drew us in for a weekday night hangout since it's beautifully decorated. There wasn't too many people inside, but it started to fill up at around 8. Service was a little slow at first, both to order and get our drinks out, but the food came out quickly. The food was delicious! I ordered the Marco dopo and it was delightful. The cheese was gooey, pork belly was thick, meat was juicy, and the jam was great. I also got a ton of crispy and perfectly salty shoestring fries. My drink (prima fiz) was really sweet, not my favorite but it had a lot of flavor. My friends enjoyed their food and drinks. When it was time to pay, I looked at my receipt and wondered why my total was so high since my total was $44. I ordered the Marco dopo ($22) and prima fiz ($14). I knew that there's a charge for credit cards, but I was also charged for a substitution ($4 for fries) which I didn't ask for. Ambiance is great, food is great. Service is slow. Happy hour is misleading. Pros: I came here on a Monday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was great and we each ordered a pasta and shareable appetizers. It was a bit cold and the manager offered to turn on the heater/close the doors for us. Cons: When we were seated, our server placed a happy hour menu on our tables which said "happy hour 4 pm-close, bar only, dine-in only Mondays $5 off all pasta dishes and $2 off signature cocktails". Due to our server placing this on our TABLE, we were under the impression that this promotion applied to our table. When the bill came out, we didn't have the promotion applied to our bill and thought it was a mistake. The server clarified that this was for the "bar only" and I pointed out it also said "dine-in only", and she said she'll ask her manager. She comes back to say "my manager also said this is only for the bar" I then asked why they placed it on our table if it didn't apply to our section and she didn't say anything. Unfortunately, no compensation or apology was given for the mix-up. Seemed like they just wanted our money and waited for us to leave. Server checked in on us every 20 minutes throughout the entire meal and we couldn't flag anyone down since they were all behind the bar. Hope they fix this issue. Will not be coming back. read more

Came here for date night. The vibe and atmosphere is great - tasteful young/modern vibe while also classy. Trendy neon signs and wallpaper throughout the restaurant and even in the restrooms. They have numerous medium sized TVs throughout the restaurant/bar so you can casually keep up with sports without it being too distracting. Outdoor seating is also available if you're looking for a more relaxed/family environment. Servers were extremely nice, but some, if not all, of the servers were also bartending which inevitably leads to being forgotten about when the bar is busy. Food: Burrata (note: does not come with bread; asked for bread on the side for a $2 charge - totally reasonable, but the bread was pretty underwhelming). The burrata itself was good. The stars of the show were the flavorful tomatoes and grilled peaches. The prosciutto was not the most fresh and hard to cut, but the dish itself is a good concept and the flavors work together. Unfortunately, it went downhill from here. Stracciatella Toast. Visually, not very appealing, and it tasted bland. The herbed bread crumbs are a nice idea but are practically flavorless. We did not taste or see ANY chili or honey in the dish - maybe it was hiding underneath the large mound of tasteless breadcrumbs which is a shame because some sweetness and heat drizzled on top of this dish could have saved the day. Chicken Parm Frite. This dish was a mess. All the way from the absurdly oversized cubed finocchiona (salami) to the soggy and room temperature "frites" tossed in what tasted like dry marinara sauce sitting for awhile. Thankfully, the fried chicken was actually warm and pretty tasty - looks like the same or similar chicken used in the "Cluck Around and Find Out" sandwich so maybe ordering that was the move. Drinks: The Dopocello: Thought it would be nice to get shooters "shaken tableside". It's brought out premixed, poured into an empty shaker (maybe there was some ice in the shaker) and served in shooters. It tasted like an underwhelming vanilla smoothie with zero sign of alcohol. For $20 for two shooters, this was disappointing. Honeydew Crush: This drink was okay. The honeydew flavor tasted extremely artificial and not from a fresh puree. There was an artificial sweetener-esque aftertaste which I don't personally like. The cantaloupe and honeydew spheres on the toothpick were dry and pretty flavorless. Thames Spritzer: Pretty good once you thoroughly mix the lemon slices and rosemary shrub into the drink. Sidenote: For a self proclaimed "cocktail house", the glassware was very basic. Overall: The aesthetic and atmosphere is very nice and the staff is all around very friendly. But when it comes to their food and drinks, the quality does not match. read more

I have been to Prima Dopo a few times and I have really enjoyed the food each time. I would definitely recommend folks check it out for a really nice meal in Fell's Point! The inside is really well decorated and the cocktails (and great mocktail menu) are great! I really like the burrata and the pizza as appetizers. We are vegetarian, have been able to work with them to get a really delicious vegetarian pasta each time that we have been here. It is also a great spot for large groups if you're looking to coordinate something because you are able to work with them in advance to pre-order for the table, which helps with the flow of the evening. When I have worked with them for two ~10-12 people dinners, they have gone above and beyond to help. read more

Started off Baltimore Restaurant Week with Prima Dopo this season! I went with a friend and we were able to try a few things on the menu. The burrata was really good and a hefty serving to start off a meal, the peaches were an interesting touch that made the dish even more memorable. The Bruschetta was interesting; the flavors were delicious. I think the presentation was different and cool but it would be nice to not have such a hefty amount of tomato in each bite. Also, can we talk about the comparison in size between the two appetizers?! We both got the same pasta and it was delicious! The sauce was a nice and light balance that didn't over take the noodle. Moving on to the deserts...the white icecream was something they just added to the menu but it was absolutely delicious! It had a lemon flavor and nice crumbles around it to balance out the textures. Now...this tiramisu was probably the worst I've ever had (and I've tried a lot of tiramisu). The lady fingers were drenched in coffee and the texture was actual mush. The cream was missing some sweetness to balance out the strong flavors of the coffee. Maybe trying again outside of the rush of restaurant week would be a better experience. All in all, I would definitely visit again and try some other pastas on the menu! 100% worth the experience. read more

This is exactly what Fells Point needed - a cute trendy spot for a fun brunch. Decor is super cute and the menu has some fun drink and food options. However, I did see something really concerning while sitting at the bar- one of the male bartenders drank out of a customer straw (presumably to test that the drink was made correctly) before giving it to the waitress to bring to the table. No, he did not a taster straw to test the drink- he drank directly out of the drink through the same straw that was then delivered to the customer - not acceptable at all. read more

I've come here a number of times since it opened. The space is huge so I have not had any issues with getting a reservation. The decor is fun and hip. I have been most impressed with the drinks and small plates. I've tried the prima fiz, the smokey italian, and even le moxie (a mocktail, but my friend added gin to hers)--so good! Food wise, my favorites have been the sweet potato (the basil yogurt sauce is amazing!!), crab toast, clams casino, and the stracciatella toast. The duck confit pizza is pretty good; the veggie pizza was a-ok but I probably wouldn't order it again, and the dayboat scallop was also a-ok, except the scallops had a slightly weird taste to them. For dessert, the fig and rosemary bread pudding was slightly too sweet and mushy for me. Definitely a great addition to Fells Point though! read more

The guy lightskin guy with the dreads that bartends gave the worst service. He didn't say any words when he came up no greet no welcome no nothing, this was our first time!! So we just started ordering lol after that we knew service wasn't the thing here although selling $50+ steaks $28 dollar pastas and $16 dollar drink you would think they would offer some experience but instead just have the mindset of high tabs high tips lol. People pay for service!! Don't ever feel entitled to tip at these nice restaurants when they don't create an experience. We can get pasta for 99cents a box and a steak way cheaper! Im paying for service because unless you got name brand chefs back there why else am i paying $130 for 2 people! Applebees is 2for $25. Out on Saturday afternoon with my friends and we decided on Italian. They were only taking reservations for dining inside so we decided to take a table outside, great in a sunny day. I ordered the mafalde with mushrooms to make it vegetarian and I had the rosemary and fig bread pudding for dessert. My meal was delicious with perfect pasta, delicious sauce and wild mushrooms. The bread pudding was fabulous and cooked so nicely- not too soggy or dry. Two at our table ordered the dayboat scallops. It didn't have any crabmeat so had to be returned, the rice was also too al dente. Another friend ordered the chicken parm with pasta instead of shoestring fries and enjoyed the meal. Fantastic addition to the neighborhood. We live around the corner. Firstly, the buildout was fantastic. I love every bit of the architecture and interior design. Our food was on point. Pizza was unbelievable. We are pizza aficionados and, coming from New York, we expect a lot. It holds its own against Roberta's and Speedy Romeo and Santa Panza and all our favorite Brooklyn spots. Upon arrival the ambience was great and an amazing vibe, however, the service was unwelcoming. As we were scoping out the scene to see where to sit a manager stopped us and asked if we were dining there, we said yes and he walked away. The expected response would be something like "welcome, we are happy to have you! enjoy". The other staff had a similar vibe. This place just had their soft opening recently and I have already been twice - I am so impressed!! The ambiance and decor is super cute, the service is fantastic, and they have one of the best cocktail menus in baltimore. Loved their take on the espresso martini (which had chocolate shavings on top!), although my favorite would probably be the prima fiz (one of their egg white cocktails). Their menu is limited right now since it's just their soft opening, but they still had three amazing vegetarian dishes - they can make the burrata without prosciutto, and the bruschetta was great too. This is a great new restaurant in Fells Point. It's a big space, trendy ambiance. The front bar area is pretty loud and busy but seems like a fun place to grab drinks. There's a back dining room area which is trendy, well decorated and a nice vibe to grab dinner. My experience- great cocktail menu and delicious drinks. The side salads are huge portions and the house salad was incredible. I would eat this as a meal. We tried 3 different pastas the carbonara, mafalde, and squid ink. They were all good but not the best Italian I've had around. For desert we had the fig bread pudding which was delicious. went here on a sat night w 2 friends to try their cocktails. we got our IDs checked at the door and were told we could sit anywhere. we found an open table and went to the bar to order some drinks. I'm not sure if they stopped serving food although there were other people eating but we didn't get any menus aside from the small featured one already on the table so we had to look up the menu online. the bartender asked if he could double check our IDs which we thought was unnecessary but understood he's j being cautious. i ordered the in the 'loupe cocktail and my friends ordered the honeydew crush. I enjoyed my drink but didn't really taste any cantaloupe. I did like the chili tajin rim tho! my friends enjoyed their drinks and said it was really sweet but I thought it tasted v artificial and had a strong alcoholic aftertaste. the place was decorated really nicely inside and it felt like a more upscale but still casual place. it's def a good spot for a nicer, more chill night out, but the drinks are p average and the lack of service we received was odd for a sit down place. read more

I was on the wait list for a Saturday night table. I had a reservation at another restaurant, but received a call from Prima Dopo about two hours before our reservation saying they had a table open so cancelled the other restaurant. I wish I didn't. They put us in the back room which does not even feel like the same restaurant. We were at a table next that was against a curtain that separated the back room. I had many servers running past me with trays above my head. One waiter almost dropped an end table on me. When I asked to be moved we were told that's the table Resy picked for us...their website books reservations through resy so I'm not sure how that can work. I do have to say our waiter was fantastic and did try to make up for the experience. read more
