My primary physiotherapist was Joanne. My first visit, she put me through several exercises to assess my injury. The next step was to go over recommended exercises to help with my recovery. She let me know that if I had any reservations about being in the common area with everyone else, they were able to set me up somewhere else. Not every physio facility is able to do that so this was definitely a bonus. Subsequent visits were more treatment oriented like using the TEMS machine and some soft tissue treatment. They had assistants of both genders and I was asked if I was okay being treated hands on by those of the opposite gender. The staff are all very pleasant and courteous. My husband and I have been weight training for the past 15 years and we have been training with Dr. Faria for 3 years. Dr. Faria has rehabilitated my husband's torn rotator cuff (an injury from a prior weight lifting incident a few years ago) so that he has regained mobility and strength in his shoulder, and no longer requires surgery nor experiences discomfort. Dr. Faria also recently assisted me in overcoming an acute onset of osteoarthritis in my knees that flared up during ski season leaving me in significant pain with swollen knees and reduced mobility which prevented me from running, exercising at full capacity and engaging in my normal physical activities. Every other review site rated this clinic very highly so I decided to call here and make an appointment. Dr. Matthew was very welcoming and easy going. He was very engaged in learning my health history and how I've been suffering with chronic back pain for years. He completed his examination, which included a good amount of objective measures that we could compare to after some treatment. I was very impressed with his explanation about my problem and his approach to treating me for it. It made total sense, with a simple straightforward approach that would be reasonable and easy to manage. I received my first chiropractic adjustments on my first visit and could feel improvement immediately. My first appointment was a consultation which is normal under the circumstances, since I am a first time client, but the more the appointment went on, the more I felt like Dr. Bortulussi was trying to "sell" me a program - almost like visiting certain weight loss centres or people trying to sell "multi-level marketing". I made a second follow-up appointment and low-and-behold - he was trying to sell me on a year long "better living" program upwards of 3.5k. When I insisted and only said I was here to be on a pay-per-session basis, he kept trying to insist that I would need the WHOLE program to feel better. Needless to say I never returned and went elsewhere. I don't want to be conned because I'm desperate to be out of pain. HE is con-artist!
