It took a friend convincing me to get help and give Ritz a shot, and honestly, it was the best decision I ever made. The staff really knows what they're doing when it comes to this disease, and they helped me finally get off fentanyl for good. Ritz is clean, cozy, and has this chill vibe that makes it easy to settle in and focus on getting better. What I loved most was how the team treated me , they actually listened, kept it real, and showed real compassion because many of them had been through the same struggles. They didn't just throw a one size fits all plan at me, they made a plan that fit meIt felt like a safe space where I could be open and vulnerable without any judgment. I met people there I never thought I'd even hang out with, but some of them turned out to be the best folks I've met. We even went on weekend outings that showed me how to have fun without drugs. Oh, and huge shoutout to Steve, the chef, seriously, the best food I've ever had.

The overall company was trying to get the most money out of my insurance as possible. I started off in the sober living facility and during Christmas time, I had covid over winter and had to take NyQuil and that was the first excuse for forcing me back into a rehab program that was not needed. My reason for being in the program in the first place was that I had 18 back to back surgeries over the past 4 years and was on opioids for a long period of time so this was a way to detox in a safe environment. There was no psychological addiction, just physical dependence to opioids. They lied about multiple addictions to medication(amphetamine addiction) that I was prescribed since childhood and used it to get more money through insurance. They also lied about an alcohol addiction, when I am medically intolerant to alcohol. When I got back to the sober living after this time I was talked about poorly among staff members and called "attention seeking" for asking for a few days off in order to visit 2 dying family members. Eventually someone in the group had consumed alcohol and told the staff which upset another client due to the unfairness and favoritism. This upset client gave me alcohol without my knowledge or consent and afterwards told the staff that I was drunk. This other client had been upset and doing things like this for 2 weeks prior to this incident. I believe he did this in order to prove a point that they will send people they dislike or with good insurance back to rehab in order to get more money. This client later confessed to me he had put alcohol in my drink without my consent and I had a reaction to the alcohol and was placed back into the rehab facility. I was put on addictive barbiturates and unnecessary medications for 2 days before my insurance denied coverage due to fraudulent services. The alcohol level was so low that there was no logical reason I needed to be there. I was then abandoned as a patient had had to find a new place to live in 2 hours or I was out on the street. Remember it's just a business. They don't actually care about you. They left another 2 of my friends on their own where one eventually fell into a coma following her abandonment. Something else they did was contact my pharmacy and told them never to fill any of my prescriptions ever from any doctor. I was no longer under their care at all. I'm a disabled person and this made it very difficult to obtain medication that I needed. This is a HIPPA violation for sure.

The kitchen staff does a excellent job creating tasty and nutritious meals. The administration staff walks the fine line of corporate needs and patient needs. it is necessary to advocate for yourself at times, but that is actually a healthy part of your rehabilitation process in my eyes. I was a patient here for over a month, during that time I met some amazing people on their staff! One thing to consider when you're coming from a hospital environment or a critical care unit, this isn't that. You won't get a 2 second response on the call light, and your needs may be met in order received. be patient be understanding, be courteous to the staff and it will return to you tenfold. be sure to ask questions, advocate for yourself.

The administration staff was very helpful and supportive and provided mom with friendly personal care. The facility was always clean and welcoming even though they were undergoing some renovation. I understand that nobody chooses to go to a care facility but if I had to choose again, I'd definitely choose St Elizabeth! Highly recommended!!

The Giving Tree provided everything that was on the website and was promised, theres no reason to give a 1 star because some didnt get meds for 24 hours, because they always provided something immediate to help sleep and anxiety, but if one is referring to waiting 24hours to take Subutex or Suboxone, YES, that is true! & That is so you don't go into immediate withdrawal & possibly DIE, if you take before 24 hours!? What should be a place of healing instead cycles in and out of despair, weighed down by a morally condescending structure of leadership that looks down on staff and residents alike. Rather than addressing the low quality of care, energy is wasted covering up problems and preserving their own social circles -- their "knitting group" of insiders -- while residents and families are left with broken trust. The neglect is real, and it's no wonder this place carries a one-star reputation. If zero stars were an option, Imperial Care Center would have earned it long ago.

Shortly after, I received a text in the house group chat from Ryan Young saying, "You need to UA now or we will throw all of your things on the road. This is not a Motel 6 or a storage unit." That was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. The staff themselves told me to remain there until Monday, so to be threatened and humiliated publicly in the group chat was unnecessary and degrading. I would honestly have preferred staying in a Motel 6 than dealing with that kind of treatment. This program lacks compassion, professionalism, and basic respect for its residents. I don't recommend it to anyone.

I am writing this review with deep concern and disappointment regarding the treatment my fiancée…read morereceived at this facility. She entered the program genuinely committed to her recovery, and did everything in her power to get the help she needed. Despite her good intentions and kind nature even while struggling her experience here was not only unsupportive but also actively harmful. First and foremost, there was a serious incident of overmedication. Staff administered so much Phenobarbital that my fiancée became disoriented and fell face-first to the ground. Staff members admitted, in their own words, that they had likely "given her too much Pheno." Such mistakes in medication management are extremely dangerous and unacceptable, especially in a detox environment. To make matters worse, no incident report was filed until I confronted management about it, raising serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and patient safety. Furthermore, the behavior of certain staff members was appalling. One staff member in particular, Mohana, treated clients as if she were a dictator rather than a caregiver. Her disrespectful attitude toward vulnerable individuals who are detoxing is completely out of line. I was told about clients being called derogatory names, including being called a "bitch," and being threatened with discharge at the slightest sign of protest. This is not only unprofessional it is abusive and retraumatizing for people who are already at their lowest point. When my fiancée tried to stand up for herself against this mistreatment, Mohana was "frightened" to the point of "tears" and sought help from the facility manager, Steven Gomez. Mr. Gomez's response was to immediately discharge her without properly investigating what had happened, despite other staff (notably Leo and Sarah, who acted with much more integrity) confirming that Mohana had provoked the situation. He was also unaware of the overmedication and the physical altercation where a male staff member forcefully grabbed my fiancée another clear violation of patient rights and safety. Again, it is unacceptable for any staff member to put their hands on a client. Adding insult to injury, I was not given a full or honest account of the situation when contacted by the facility, even though I was listed under her full Release of Information (ROI). This lack of communication is both unethical and a breach of policy. It is clear from our experience that this facility is plagued by poor management, favoritism, and a lack of structure. There is a severe disconnect between staff members, and some seem unqualified or unfit for their roles. The only positive interactions we had were with Leo and Sarah, who treated us with honesty and respect. We have reported this situation to JCAHO and are awaiting a response from the CEO, Brandon Fernandez, regarding what corrective actions will be taken. I strongly urge anyone considering this facility to look elsewhere if at all possible. If you have no other option due to lack of private insurance, be aware that you may not receive the care, dignity, or safety you deserve. No one should have to worry about being bullied, overmedicated, or physically mishandled when they are seeking help. I am deeply concerned for future clients, especially those who may not have anyone to advocate for them. This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for patient wellbeing could easily lead to tragic consequences. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and that the facility takes immediate steps to address these serious issues.
