A client requested I order lunch from Primavera. The food I ordered merits 4 stars, but what are to me exorbitant prices dropped my review by one star. The restaurant was quite busy for lunch, both dining in and takeout. Prices are breathtaking, but at least the food I ordered was very good. My salmon salad, albeit a small portion, was fresh, tasty, and prepared with care. The kitchen seems to take pride in the food they serve, and I found the service decent. If you're looking for Kosher food, check it out!

We were greeted by friendly staff and sat in a seat we requested. Our waitress came quickly and allowed us to place an order for an appetizer then return for the rest of our order. The food came out very quickly and was delicious as well as plenty. I highly recommend people pop in for a great meal.

The food is top tier; all fresh, flavorful and mouthwatering. The waiters were great, and the restaurant feels very upscale but is still not overpriced. They also have a bathroom.

You have a-lot of wasted food... it shouldn't be all you can eat but with a set price that includes a tray of each meats, chicken ,soup ingredients with enough for as many people at the table and if they want more they would pay for it.. There was not enough of each to go around for 4 people. 3eggs, not enough ingredients for the soup for 4 people, only 2 pieces of some meat. when we asked for more meat they brought an entire new meat board which we didnt use so it wasted. And if someone cooks soup or food they should be allowed to take it home. I would have like to take home the l rest of my soup

I came in for an interview, and during that interview, the person in charge told me to come in on a specific day to work so he could "see how I operate in the kitchen." He specifically said I didn't need to clock in for that day. I showed up as instructed, worked for about half a shift, and did everything asked of me. During the interview, I had already been upfront that I currently work another job, and that if he decided to hire me, I wanted to give my other job a proper two-week notice out of respect. He said that was completely fine. After finishing the half-shift, he told me to contact him the next morning. I reached out, and got no response. I followed up two more times, still no reply. No courtesy, no "we're going in another direction," nothing. At this point it's clear he had no intention of hiring me, and he essentially had me work for free. That's unprofessional and disrespectful. Regardless of the outcome, communication and basic courtesy go a long way, and I didn't receive either here.

Let me start out by saying the Orthodox Jewish Community can be a bit intense in attitude especially if your not Orthodox., so when ordering here can seen like the Soup Nazi episode on Seinfeld. Especially if you've never had middle eastern kosher food before walking in here. If you have a little knowledge about Shwarma and Falafels you will be able to get by here. There was a shift change while I was here and if you need help asking any questions on what to order without feeling awkward ask for Yacov with the Big Yalmaka (skull cap). He is a younger and loves to talk to everyone. He saved it from being a 3 star bad service to a 4 star cool service and almost made it a 5 star because he needs to move his hands while he talks to you cause it slows down other orders. Ok, now that we rated the service, parking can be crazey here especially if your handicap as it's in a crowded small mini mall, this place only has one small unisex smelly bathroom and a smaller set up with about a dozen tables which makes it good for a to go business. Now for the food, I'ld like to thank them for keeping it strictly kosher, especially with a hand washing sink and a plastic covered Birkat Hamazon (prayer for grace after meals). The food was amazingly good, especially after eating at hundreds of kosher restaurants where the food was bland and something wasn't right, this place was spot on for each item we ordered to the point of ordering a second round to take home. We started with the Chicken and Lamb Shwarma on a pita with Humus and Israeli salad with sweet potato and rice side order with an Egg Roll on the side, we took home a Falafel and Hamburger and were so happy with the food we put this on our must go to place every time we come into Monsey. The delicious food will make you forget about the uncomfortable ordering situation and make you want to sing and dance with joy! Come here to try this adventure!

Beast BBQ's soft opening last night was anything but soft, and I mean that in the best way possible. Service was on point, their servers were on it like white on rice the entire night. Food was plentiful and delicious with a nice service flow from the kitchen, my dinner party table mates were the best of the best, and to top it off chef Moses cracked a huge smile! Stands outs of the evening for me were: ~ Boneless melt in your mouth sliced short ribs ~ Smoked tongue ~ Pastrami ~ Ridiculously crispy Chicken wings ~ Grilled corn ~ Onions rings with a herbed batter and french fries ~ Lemon Meringue (but wasn't lemon but a different fruit) ~ A meringue layered with a heavenly pawpaw fruit cream Also the delicious and inventive dipping sauces reminiscent of those days from his Pardes days were a memorable treat! Communal seating and an open kitchen concept make the space both warm and welcoming. Can wait to see this place get even better! Opening this Sunday at 5, be there!

When we moved to MonseyLand a lifetime ago,we resigned ourselves to a few things;…read more1)When you hear terms like "walking distance" remember the focus is on "distance" not "walking" 2)Urban survival skills like parallel parking will atrophy faster than you can say "parking meter" 3)Monsey will never be home to the latest/greatest/newest/coolest kosher dining destinations--yes, there'll be nice places that deliver a respectable dining experience, but if you're looking for "the next" in terms of worth the trip from anywhere, intensely delicious, innovative fare, prepare to look elsewhere, because in THAT department(and this is just my opinion) Monsey follows (albeit rather respectably), rather than leads. Though based on our visit to the Beast BBQ, right here in scenic Wesley Hills, that's all about to change. Why? In terms of bona-fides, Beast BBQ is the creation of rockstar chef Moses Wendel aka the guy who gave us the legendary "worth the trip from anywhere even tho it's not a steakhouse" Pardes. Now with Beast, he's proving that Pardes wasn't a fluke, but a 1st act, with Beast BBQ being a 2nd act that's every bit as impressive and game-changing(plus WAY closer for his fans in 845). In short, a Moses Wendel-style total reboot on the "kosher-cue/smokehouse genre. The vibe? Unpretentious. The food? Unbelievable. While the menu is refreshingly straightforward, our group still asked the exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff for suggestions, which is why we ended up working our way through tongue, brisket pastrami, pastrami 'tater-tots, pulled beef, a stew, fries, baked beans, a kale-ish salad, jammed with an assortment of flavorfully meaty mushrooms and topped with a light as air donut-like savory crust that was "hiding" a monstrously moist chicken fillet. Before I get even more ahead of myself, let me share the basics--at least the way my tastebuds "see" it. Chef Wendel's brand is equal parts inventive--as in being able to coax awesome new flavors and textures from timeless standards, and inventor--as in coming up with spankin' new "from scratch" concepts, that cause your mouth to break into a sweat just from reading the menu and inhaling the heady tho not heavy aroma("Breath of the Beast" air freshener anyone?)In terms of inventive, his spin on classic deli one-upped(and then some) Shmulks, the Grand Deli, Hess and most every other deli-mecca of my quasi-misspent youth. His pastrami is the perfect mix of fatty & lean, which creates the perfect mix of "chewy-juiciness"--all wrapped in a smokey-spicey tang thats both familiar and fresh at the same time. The tongue was in a word epic. Soft enough to slice with nothing more than a cutting look, yet rich in bold and nuanced flavors, Wendlels take on tongue was simultaneously like and unlike my "best in class" tongue sandwiches/entrees/appetizers/etc. Or to put it another way, certain members of our group who weren't fans of the fine art of deli (let alone deli that's been tweaked craft-smokehouse/BBQ style), started with tentative tastings and ended up polishing off more than their fare share of Wendel's deli fare. Lucky for me, I was raised "Catskill style", so once I saw everyone deep-diving for deli, my instinct for self-preservation kicked in and I squirreled some tongue, pastrami, etc away "for later"--which turned out to be a good call. As we continued plowing through our version of a "sampling menu", I paused "mid-fress", to ask our server where they get their breads and rolls from, as their rye bread was far superior to every bakery classic I know and love. She told me that all baked goods, as well as sauces, toppings, creams, condiments garnishes etc are all created in-house by Moses and his massively talented crew. In short, no matter the menu item, everything from seasoning to smoking to slicing to serving(wanted to keep the alliteration going sorry) is all done on the authentically unpretentious premises. Like Pardes,at Beast BBQ every detail matters, from the bar's collection of liquors, custom cocktails and craft beers, to the desserts toppings(and bottomings)--which btw included the richest yet lightest "cocoalate" mousse I ever tasted, to the type of veggies in the stew, even the seasoning on the fries is so perfect, using ketchup is akin to blasphemy. Plus, his interpretation on classic BBQ joint "sides" like baked beans, coleslaw & potato salad, are a fresh step up from the standard. Bottom line? Chef Moses has created a gourmet "promised land" called Beast BBQ. As it's me, there has to be at least one kvetch & here it is; Re their remarkable, densely delicious rye-bread, be advised its slices are more crescent/biscotti-shaped vs the typical slab-like slices used in old-school deli sandwiches. Actually, the fact the place was busy after 9 pm on a Tuesday nite IN MONSEY, says it all. PS; to our friends in 212,718,516,201,973,908,914, etc, feel free to text us 'hello' when you're done experiencing the Beast BBQ in (believe it or not)Monsey

We felt the hot dogs were rubbery in texture, and they tasted like they were reheated. The matzoh ball soup was bland. My mother enjoyed her pastrami sandwich. As far as atmosphere goes, the first table we sat at was wobbly. and when we transfered to the other, we found the table and season shakers to be sticky. The greatest disappointment was not the mediocre food, or the sticky table but what we witnessed. An elderly couple was sitting at the other table. The gentleman asked a server, possibly the owner or manager, for a glass of tap water. The response from the server was, "We don't have glasses of water here, but you can buy a bottle and I'll bring your two cups." We found this to be uncourteous and unwelcoming, and we felt a little embarassed for the nice couple. It seems that when a nice couple comes in to patronize your restaurant, and purchase a lunch, a little water would not be an unreasonable request. Any restaurant that treats elderly people this way will not receive my future business.
