This is one of the best butchers on Long Island. I've never had a complaint until today. The pre-made baked ziti that I bought on December 31st was sour. It was so bad. I've never had that experience before. I had to throw it away. Otherwise, the owner, his son and the rest of the employees are really nice. And then proceeded to get snippy with me when I tried to describe it to him. He announced across the entire store "does anyone know what a baguette is" as if to embarrass me like I just made up that word. Will never give this deli another dollar. Been coming to this Italian deli for years but just finally getting around to writing a review about it. They provide catering, specialty meats, custom orders as well as just walk in deli orders. One of the best local Italian fresh markets around. Luckily it's located in north Massapequa area off of Hicksville road in the shopping center with Harmon. Primavera offers a wide variety of meats. Every Christmas Eve my family orders the beef from them and they do a fantastic job selecting a generous cut. Always looking forward to coming here and they usually never disappoint. read more

If you like Italian sausage with flavor (fennel, parsley, etc) theirs is great. They bring in their Italian bread from brooklyn. A little smaller and darker and with much more flavor. So maybe get the large one, They also will sell you (if you use canned tomatoes/ you should use fresh plum) tomatoes from the San Marzano region of Italy. Stamped for authenticity. Disappointed with my experience here. Called for curbside pickup. We ordered bacon cheeseburgers and asked the girl on the phone how much per pound and we were told $8.99/lb. The website menu also says $8.99/lb. When we got our order we realized we were charged $10.99/lb. When my husband went in to tell the staff they told him the price went up. I just think they should have honored what we were quoted for this time. The burgers were good though. read more

Place is absolute trash. Called 24 hours before my daughter's second birthday party to postpone my catering order because my family came down with Covid. Told me the hero was already sliced the night before (disgusting) and I couldn't switch it to the following weekend. When I told them me and my two year old were sick with Covid the guy on the phone turns around and says "yeah so is the rest of Nassau County." THEN, when I arrive to pick it up (while fighting Covid) the owner's son dumps 7 feet of hero (on two separate boards) and a box with 7lbs of salads on the counter for myself, who is a petite 5ft girl, to carry out alone. This is my first and obviously last time dealing with this place. Do yourself a favor and cater with a classy place like Salpinos or Ivarone who employ gentlemen who treat their customers with respect. read more

I'm leaving 3 stars since the food is always good and this review had nothing to do with food. We were here twice since October. The first time the man behind the deli counter was rude and yelled at my elderly mother to "hurry up already" while she was ordering and asking what certain items were. Today we went again since she enjoys the food and was disappointed that the man behind the counter wasn't wearing a mask, only a face shield. The lady working there her mask wasn't covering her nose. Even though the food is good, I can't take the risk of bringing my elderly mother back there again if the workers don't follow the rules to protect others from Covid. I love this place. my wife and I shop here all the time. Cold cuts are awesome here, I dont know what it is but small italian delis just have better tasting cold cuts than supermarkets, even when the same brand. Primavera makes it even better becasue they are all super friendly and helpdul. We started buying all of our meats here as well, its a little pricey compared to a supermarket, but the wuality is so much better and you can taste it. The chicken cutlets are awesome and being a butcher they trim all the fat and thin them out with a mallet. No complaints. I also buy all my meats her when I have barbeques., I have purchased Whole pigs, rib, briskets, pork butts, and whole turkeys from them and have always been pleased. They do all the cleaning for you too which is great. Last thanksgiving we bought a free range turkey from them and it was one of the best tasting turkeys we ever had. I cannot say enough good things about Primavera. They are an awesome bunch of people and the food is great.. Doesnt get much better than this. read more

Very good hero!!! Went here based on a suggestion and I got the Neapolitan. The amount of meat was good and it was $9 for a roll or $10 for a hero. The bread was a little crisp and chewy which is how I like my bread. I also got empanadas since there were others who were getting them. I got the pulled pork and brisket. The amount of filling was generous and the empanada dough was really tasty. The empanadas were 2 for $5 which was reasonable given the size. I would definitely go back. read more

We shop here often. The meats from the butcher side have always been very good and the prepared salads are really good. I ordered the brisket empanadas last time I was in and they where outstanding.
