New owners...terrible prices and poor quality! I've been a loyal Pat's Farms customer for upwards of 15 to 20 years. Loved their very reasonable prices and selection they offer. Also would purchase from their deli and meat departments as well. Unfortunately, new owners have come in and decimated the place! EVERYTHING. was way over priced and I spend half my time in Manhattan and buy fruits/veggies there as well. The quality was poor as well! Fruits and veggies were often a day away from rotting. lots of places in town with a fresher and better selection. I'm now going to north shore farms down the road in Wantagh on Jerusalem avenue. Similar prices but more of a fresh selection with meats, fish, cooked food etc. Such a shame this place was sold!! read more

A great place to get fresh food at low prices! Great selection of fruits and vegetables and you will indeed pay a fraction of the cost of the supermarkets, especially lately with the insane price jumps on produce. I was very happy with my 49 cent head of lettuce and $1.99 cauliflowers. Quality, on par with supermarkets. The produce looks like it really is supposed to, without the waxing and fake rain showers going on at the big box stores. Really great bargains everywhere you look... how about $1.49 for half a gallon of milk, or two dozen extra large eggs for $1.29? Nice little grocery section, too, and as is often the case at fruit and vegetable stores, there's quite an Italian accent. Caponata, lupini beans, lots of oils, imported canned tomatoes, and those yummy packaged Italian snack cakes. There's also a big selection of plants. We arrived at 7:00 PM (closing time is 8:00) and were disappointed that both the seafood counter and the deli were already closed. These two sections, as well as the fresh meat sections, are independently owned mini-stores operating within the main store. I can understand that those two counters need more time to pack up and close down for the day, but still, a whole hour early? From the sale circular I could see their prices are also bottom-line, as was the meat department. If you are shopping late (or early) may want to call to make sure they are open: Deli 516-967-8902, Fish Market 516-564-9771. The meat department was still open along with Pat's. The deal on forms of payment: the rumors are true; deli is cash only. There is an ATM right near by. They save money by not taking credit cards and pass on the savings to you. Meat department has a $10 card minimum. Pat's takes all forms of payment. Fish market was closed, so I don't know about them. Very pleased to have found Pat's Farms and plan to shop there often. read more

In the past Pat's has addressed their parking problem by hiring people to regulate traffic. Lately, their garden section has expanded, creating a seemingly permanent situation where cars are waiting out on the street just to get in to the lot. Last time I successfully got in, there were no parking attendants to be seen. Several times in the last month, I have seen large trucks parked in the no parking zone next to the drug store, because they could not get into Pat's lot to make their deliveries. They are creating a public safety hazard here, and they should address it before the government gets involved. read more

Pats Farms Supermarket is the highlight of my day. I love entering the large and colorful section of produce of great quality. My experience at Pats has been far better than any supermarket in town. This is our go to local place to get produce at a decent price. I wouldn't call Pat's Farms anything fancy, but they offer produce at a very reasonable price. They also have fresh herbs $1.49- $2.50 a generous bunch which is much cheaper than what you get in the supermarket. I also saw their fresh grown cauliflower for $1.99 a head. They are usually very big that it can easily serve several people. Inside they also have a seafood and meat departments in the back. I haven't personally bought from those sections, but I've heard the prices were very good from my friend that does. During the spring I try to take advantage of their garden area. In addition to the flower bouquets inside the main store, there is a section in the back full of rows of plants for an affordable bargain compared to the usual garden stores. On weekends the lot tends to be packed. Sometimes it could be hard to find a spot, so you might have to park on the street around the corner. They usually do have a person helping guide cars in and out of spots. read more

Do yourselves a favor, stay well clear of this dump. OmG....hands-down, one of the dirtiest establishments that I have ever walked into!!! Looks to me like they buy the lowest-quality fruits 'n veggies and then market them at prices substantially higher than their competitors. I just took one look at their filthy; dirt-encrusted; dried-out and cracked heads of green cabbage and immediately walked out. Pat's Farm has the best prices on fresh produce. I usually find that the prices are 30-40% cheaper than competitors. During the summer I took advantage of the 19 cent ears of corn. Most of the time I pick up a handful of items and rarely spend over $5. Herbs are a good value since most of the bunches are larger than the ones at other supermarkets. I like that they give you the roots with the basil since it will last longer that way. Besides produce they also have deli, meat and seafood sections that I have not tried. During the spring and summer they have a large garden section in the back of the parking lot. There's a good variety of choices of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. I was even surprised to see them selling palm trees. A few years ago I bought a small orchid for $5. Today it is still alive and has bloomed every year. Only thing I dislike is the parking area where it can be difficult to find a spot and navigate at peak times. I came here last saturday and got 5 grapefruits for 99 cents, now thats a bargain. They also have a meat and seafood department. I have tried the sausage and steaks from the meat department and I can say they were excellent. They have a deli section, never tried it because the prepared foods just dont look too good. Great place to shop for fruits and vegetables at really great prices. You can find quality fruits and vegetables at the lowest prices I have found in the area. They also have a fish store, meat market and deli department. I have not had the fish, although it looks good. The meats are high quality, low priced. I especially like their hot sausage rings. This is a great place to stop at during the week to pick up whatever you may need for dinner. The one con is the lousy parking lot. And now that they have opened the meat department i dont have to go any where else. I would suggest reading the expiration date on the packaged foods, I've come across some that have clearly been on the shelf for some time (taco prep box had ants in it) but believe it or not, i still give this place 5 stars. My family and I have been coming here for fruits, vegetables and sometimes even the deli for years. Prices are excellent and staff is very helpful! It becomes so crowded sometimes that the lines goes into the street and a worker actually directs parking! Sometimes the freshness of the fruits and vegetables can be hit or miss but that's bound to happen in any establishment containing such products. My mom and I have been loyal customers of Pat's Farms since it opened way back when. Cheap and ultra-fresh fruits and veggies are their stock in trade. Used to be cash only, now they take credit cards except in the deli section where it's still cash only. Wonderful fish counter, check out their pristine wild salmon fillets. Now that non-locals have discovered the place it's become extremely crowded. Parking can be tricky but employees act as traffic directors. There's nothing else like Pats Farms around here, hope they never close. read more

I have been going to Pat Farms often and I especially like their new nursery facility next door to the grocery because I'm a plant enthusiast. I love how at the end of the planting season I get amazing discounts on some plants. However, this review is about an encounter I had with one of the managers at the grocery. It's the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars. On 7/31 I brought Martin's potato bread. The next day I took two slices to eat and immediately realized it tasted different (a bit sour) My sister who loves potato bread also realized something was wrong with it. The expiration date on it was 8/5. I took it back because we wouldn't eat it and potato bread is expensive. The manager, ELAINA acted as though I was trying to "get over." She refused to give me all of my money back, saying we ate most of it, which we didn't. Her facial expression towards me was a look of disdain. She even had the nerve to say that soon there wouldn't be food available in the groceries... She gave me back half of what I paid and walked away. For the amount of time I've shopped there and the money I've spent, I did not deserve that treatment. Very unprofessional and disgraceful. read more

This is the only place my family and I will buy produce, cold cuts, and fish. The produce is the cheapest I've seen on LI, and always a good variety of everything. No, it's not the prettiest place to shop, but if you're looking to come out with a foot long receipt and only spend $10, don't shop for produce anywhere else. I can get the same (with lesser freshness) produce at Waldbaums or Stop and Shop for four times the cost. Seriously. Also, the fish counter is amazing. I get salmon once a week from the guy there and it's so fresh and delicious. You have to pay at the fish counter if you buy from them though, as they're a separate vendor. *Same* goes for the deli area which includes the packaged cookies in the back and specialty coffees, you pay at the deli counter since they're also a separate vendor. *Fish counter takes credit cards* but Deli only takes CASH!* I rarely buy any packaged products here (the non-perishables) but there's a good amount of ethnic foods in the aisles. Parking can get tight on weekends, but there are traffic directors outside in the lot that the store hires. Also, there is an extra parking lot across the street from Pats. Go save yourself some money! read more

I moved out of the East Meadow/Merrick area 10 years ago, yet I still find myself going to Pat's Farm for my fruits & veggies. Especially when I want to save $$$. Fairway and Whole Foods are great, but when you need 5 servings of this stuff EVERYDAY, it just costs too much to go elsewhere. I also love getting plants to grow for my garden during the Spring. One of my friends knowing what I Halloween nut I am said you have to go to Pat's Farms for your pumpkins this year. Normally I spend pointless amounts of money on Halloween decor and pumpkins. I was super impressed with the seasonal selections here. Huge beautiful pumpkins only .29 a pound!! Mums still closed and unbloomed only 11.99. Everything from gourds to corn stalks. I was so happy with my 2 "27" pound pumpkins and 2 huge gorgeous purple mums for less then half of what I normally spend. Quality stuff! I was very happy and will definitely return for my seasonal stuff and from the looks of it the inside stuff was good as well. read more

I really cant get enough of this place. I have rabbits at home so I need fresh produce on a weekly basis and its been a very long time since Ive found somewhere with a great variety, with healthy and good quality produce at such a cheap price. Pats Farms it is. I could easily spend 10.00 every week on enough produce where if I went to Stop & Shop/Pathmark/Waldbaums it would be nearly triple that. I can't get enough of this place! I frequent this grocery store every Saturday morning, and I am pleased every time. I refuse to buy my produce anywhere else because I have yet to find a store that can top Pat's quality for the price. This has all been especially beneficial to me, considering that I am now on a new health kick and have incorporated more yummy fruits and veggies into my daily diet. They also have a fish, poultry and meat market, but I can't speak too much on that, because I've never really purchased those products from here. My mother is especially fond of the beautiful assortment of flowers that they have, especially during the spring when she is looking for an affordable way to give our yard an extra boost. So I am a regular customer to Pats farms and on this day Saturday I went to spend my usual 14o or 150 on fruits and vegetables I bought meats as well as deli cuts so I probably walked out of there spending at least 200 bucks ! Pwhen I got home I realize that there was an $11.99 fee that was un accounted for since I went through all my groceries and found nothing for that amount this charge was labeled flowers which I did not purchase so I called the service desk the woman told me to check on my items again and then bring the receipt and come in and she would straighten it out so I went in presented my receipt told her who I was and she said she's going to go look at the camera where I was checking out from at register one and then she'll get back to me so I waited in the store for about 10 minutes and she came out and she announced to me that she can 't give me my money because the owners have to call me either Monday or Tuesday and look at theCamera again and then if they decided that the money was put on my receipt then they would call me and I could come and get my money anyway this so far has taken about 20 minutes 25 minutes to try to straighten out and honestly when I was told I have to come back Monday or Tuesday after you know having worked in the city to come to pars farms and try to deal with thus for a measly 11.99 fee which the women reminded me was it was a cashier error since she put the wrong sku number in at the register. I got very upset at this point and just told the woman that it's an insult to the customer if you are doubting the customer and then I left the store. Poor Pats farms to have such an u trusting and cowardly manager who did not remedy the problem. read more

My parents were long time Pats Farm shoppers until they moved to FL last year- I decided to check it out for myself as an adult and wow was I blown away. I was able to get fruits, veggies, nuts, and fish to last me the entire week for $35, a fraction of what I had been paying at Shop Rite(food for maybe 3 days $85-96!)! The savings here plus the quality and variety of food can't be beat. The parking is tight and it is crazy busy but SO worth it! read more

Always come here (when I'm back home on long island) for groceries. It's a family run produce store - come here only if you are looking for no thrills cheap but good produce. I get all my fruits and vegetables here for so cheap and always good quality. Wouldn't really shop for packaged goods here though but everything else is great. The deli counter (basic cold cuts and cheeses) is also good and i often get that as well read more
