I have been wanting to try Prime Butcher for awhile. I decided to stop for a nice Sunday evening steak dinner with my husband. The store is very nice except it is a bit overcrowded with products. I could not get close to the meat case because of the other products in front of it. They have a large selection of items but all squished so it was a little hard to see things. I would definitely suggest they look for a much bigger shop. It would be wonderful and easier. This is the ONLY reason there are not 5 stars. I was helped by Tyler who was very nice, patient and knowledgeable. I picked two ribeyes, scallops, a bottle of wine and seasoned butter. Sorry, no pictures. The ribeye was tasty, flavorful and tender! You can not get anything like it at a grocery store!!! I can not say enough about how amazing it was!!!! The scallops were very good as well! I used the seasoned butter and everything was popping with flavor!!!! The bottle of wine was a bit dry, I prefer a slightly sweeter wine but it was good nevertheless. It was the best home grilled steak dinner I've ever had! For this quality of meat I expected to pay more and I did. My order was $176. I will definitely go back and try other meats and more that they had. I will need to save up a bit for another great ribeye though. read more

They specialize in USDA Prime beef and dry aged Prime beef. USDA Prime is the highest-quality beef available in the USA, making up only 5% of the market. This is a very high end shop. Do not come here if you want $3.99/lb beef. This is not that kind of shop. Today we took advantage and bought the weekend special- about 7lbs of meat for $69! Great value for this quality. I need a prime rib roast for Christmas dinner. This store was the first one I found to have prime rib (Publix was out). I drove 25 miles to get to the store before it closed. When I got there, I asked for a five-pound rib roast. It was near closing time and they obviously didn't want to give me one. Instead, the owner insisted that the size I wanted was too much and that I should go with a two-pound roast. I explained to him that the size wasn't enough for my family. Still needing something to serve my family on Christmas Day, I bought the two-pounder for a whopping $97! In hindsight, I made a huge mistake in doing so. I get a five to six-pound roast every year. Why did the owner have to argue with me about it? Whatever happened to "the customer is always right?" I should have walked out without buying anything. I won't be recommending this store to anyone. They obviously don't respect their customers. read more

Truly outstanding butcher shop!! I love supporting local, small businesses but I was particularly impressed with this shop. I visited for the first time not knowing what to expect, but I was instantly greeted by the owner and received impeccable service. Pepe is very knowledgeable and offered me tips, including recommended butters to baste my cuts with. I was interested in finding high quality rib eye to see how it compared with typical groceries in the area...and boy was I blown out of the water! I cooked my ribeyes as Pepe suggested & I swear the steak melted in my mouth. It is 100% worth the price point! I love seeing the aging meats displayed in the shop & all the various specialty items. Also- they have STELLAR house made chimichurri!!! I love chimichurri but it's a pain to make just a little since you want it fresh...this was freshly packed and full of flavor! As soon as you walk in, the place just has this upscale feel. It was very nice. The staff behind the counter was great at explaining the different aging and types of steak they had to offer. Huge selection of cuts and even different meats. We got the dry aged and a standard fillet to try out the difference and see what we preferred. This is a perfect example of a business operating under the assumption that the consumer is ignorant. They market wagyu on their Facebook page but fail to specify if it is American, Australian or Japanese Wagyu. Misleading. They also say that certain steaks have a certain marbling score. Also misleading. They are subjectively grading this marbling score. The USDA is not grading the marbling score. They sell the same steaks at twice the price of others, based on their BS marbling scores and other BS criteria. Go talk to the owner. If you know anything about meat, you'll know he's full of bologna within about 10 seconds. Misleading the consumer and charging egregious prices is how they are profiting. Your answer below is wrong as well. USDA does not grade marbling score numerically. They grade select, choice, prime. The bms can approximate somewhere between 0-5 but the USDA does not make an official numerical score. Saying that US prime beef is above 5 bms (which you do) is completely subjective and does not necessarily indicate a better quality steak. Furthermore, in the US, yield grade should never be confused with beef quality, nor should it ever be used as a marketing tool (which you do). US yield grades and Japanese yield grades are completely different and are not interchangeable. read more

The meats oh the meats!! Japanese Waygu steak for the low low price of $140 a pound. It is literally striped with marbled fat like my dream steak! All kinds of traditional cuts Usda prime beef like your eating at Bern's steakhouse but at home. Some exotics in the cooler, pizzas, sides, potatos, green peppers, and other toppings, mushrooms, stinky blue cheese from england, and so much more. You really have to see for yourself, I mean now before inflation and food shortages, hurry. The owner saw me doing my Yelp thing and came over to see if I needed help. Per sig other "ground beef tastes better." And of course, we can not bypass the poor customer service. 5 stars I have never had a go-to butcher shop before, but this is place is it! The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. Also, they will order something specific you want, if you ask. I drive by this place often and figured I would check it out after a weekend run to Publix. Unbeknown to me, the shop had just closed. They saw me walk up to the door and unlocked it for me even though they had already closed up for the evening. I ended up buying a leg of lamb (amazing!!) and a fondue kit (would pass next time). I appreciated how kind they were and that they encouraged me to take my time. The shop had so many different cuts of meat, cheeses, specialty items, Stonewall Kitchen products, gelato, and more.
