Stopped by The Fresh Market today because I wanted to check out the Thursday $5 Bistro meals which would have been 1 entree and 2 sides. Of course this time I came, they said they were not offering it due to their Easter orders that they said they were busy with. So the bistro meals were 9.99. They also had rotisserie chicken for $5, tuna tataki for $5, and basic California, tuna, & salmon with rice sushi rolls were $5. I decided to get a 9.99 bistro meal for my husband, picked out the pepper steak, potato salad(his fave of the the three), and mac and cheese. I picked up a tuna tataki($5 special), shrimp cocktail / $6, and a half a pound of kale, apple, cranberry, and walnut salad(my fave), I was impressed with my lunch that was tasty and pretty healthy. Everyone working was very nice. I also bought a rotisserie chicken($5 today) for dinner. This was very good and much better than Publix and Costco chicken. Happy to also have another green tea to try. It was a worthwhile visit. Next week the bistro meals will start being $7 which is entree, and two sides and an upcharge for salmon. This a boutique size supermarket similar to Whole Foods, but a bit smaller. It's very organized & has many healthy and organic options. They have a bakery, fish, meat section, as well as deli, food, & sushi section and produce to name a few. Prices can be similar or a bit higher than Publix, & maybe comparable to Whole Foods. read more

So many gourmet delicacies in this store. You have to know what you are looking for but I find so many small batch small company clean goodies hidden among the generic and high priced regular items. I specifically went over from Wild Fork to grab my beloved Honeycup mustard. Cannot find anyone else who carries it now except amz and they are on crack with their prices. Service is always good, store is alwasy beautifully done. It's a true market experience there with so much goodness jammed into a small storefront. From plants and flowers, to fresh produce to some high quality meats and seafood, gifts, pantry staples, all of it. I miss the store in Valrico so much, but I find a way to stop in here when I am in the area. read more

This is the closest fresh market to us, and it's still about a 30 minute drive - but we keep coming back because their coffee selection is our favorite. They also have good deals on their ground beef on Tuesdays. The store is always clean and well kept and the employees are always helpful and pleasant. read more

For most people, shopping is classified as an errand or chore. I prefer to give my business to stores who treat their customers professionally....I patronize these stores when I do my "field trips," my new nickname because no matter what mood I am in, I leave their location having enjoyed my visit. Fresh Market Carrollwood is one of these locations. I did not feel well this morning, but I had a couple things I wanted to buy off their morning email of Saturday/Labor Day specials. I strolled in with my cart and entered produce...theirs is always beautiful and fresh. I look to my right and saw the fresh juice...I used to always buy my NY cider at this location as it was the only place I could find that sold it (I had gotten hooked on Cornell Univ's Ag School's), but this location had not had it in quite a while. I commented to the employee working nearby that they finally were able to get it. His response was, "Yes, just for you." I felt special. I apparently was looking in the wrong spot for my Peter Luger Steak Sauce which was bogo today only, a sauce I'm hooked on for everything, and asked an employee nearby...they ALWAYS have staff on the floor to help. "Oh, please follow me, I'll take you to where we stock it." He was so nice, I was thrilled to get it, and even others bought it seeing how excited I was. Meat/seafood was busy but the staff attentive. When I cashed out, my "concussion brain" struggled with the way the keypad was set up, the cashier, with a warm smile on her face, saw and immediately said she would do it for me. Her salutations had me leaving with a smile on my fact. When I got home and unpacked my purchases, I found that she had individually bagged/rolled my four bottles of steak sauce and laid them flat on the bottom of the bag against each other to help prevent breakage. I don't see that very often anymore. I immediately called the store and spoke with Victor, the manager, and told him everything about my adventure, my field trip. read more

I recently made my first online order from this store, to be delivered by Insta-cart. The delivery service messed up my order by omitting some crab cakes that I especially wanted for my family dinner. I complained to the manager, and he said the store and Insta-cart operate separately, and the omission was their error. Nevertheless, he tracked down the problem (the delivery guy had dropped the crab cakes near the store exit and did not check his order) and enlisted an employee named Mary, who volunteered to personally deliver the crab cakes on her way home from work. I received not only the 4 ordered, but also 2 more "for my trouble." Exceptional service to solve a problem they didn't create. Have been a fan of the FM for many years. Years ago I used to shop here regularly. Since I started shopping mainly at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods I haven't been at this store for a long time. I visited in mid day, it was quite empty. Very clean. Friendly stuff too. There are plenty of options and special foods. Other than great produce, they carry great cheeses, pasta, spices, ice creams and wines. It's pleasant to shop here and the cashier was super friendly. Some items seemed to be higher in price than I am used to. Especially few vegetables I was looking for and feta cheese. read more

The produce and bakery section is amazing. They have a good selection of cheeses and organic foods. I will admit...It is a higher priced store.. but the quality is really good. They always have great unique treats for the holidays. Oh and their flowers are always beautiful. The store is always clean... but I will tell you I don't believe I have ever been there when there has been more than 2 cashiers open. They are very friendly and it isn't usually crowed. Love the fresh meat counter and bakery. First place I've found a pastry cinnamon roll (instead of dough) since I left Europe 10 years ago! An older gentleman pushed in front of me at the meat counter, which I didn't really mind, but then he just kept ordering (at one point he asked the employee to wrap 8 slices of bacon individually...I got the giggles as I thought I was being punked). What I really like was how the employee asked another employee to assist me and then let me check out first. Definitely a great level of customer service and much appreciated. Yesterday I placed an online order for 2 Halloween meals for a neighborhood get together we were having today. When I arrived to pick them up, I was told they did not have the order maybe another store. I quickly pulled up my email receipt and we realized the pick up date was later in the month. Stormy (the associate assisting me) got to work quickly and had my order ready in less than an hour! Everyone worked together to save my event. The food was delicious. If you have never ordered one of these you should try them. There is a good variety of food and the presentation was very nice. This was not the first one that I have ordered. Great meat and seafood department just can't get any help as I waited with two other people and no one came out to help us. The hot Food area, which normally in most stores has a lot to choose from this store has hardly anything the last two times. When I asked about not having much in the case, I was told business is slow they don't wanna make a lot of food. I'm guessing that's why business is slow because they don't have anything to choose from. I would not recommend this store. I've come here a few times when looking for specific brands of products --- they have Charlie Chips which no other grocer has and I remember eating these out of the can when I was little. The prices are much higher than a regular grocer such as Publix, whom I prefer. I have to say that I only come here when I'm in the market for a particular item(s) and know what I'm going to be getting. I did try their Lemon muffin last time I was in and OMG how delicious. I am on a soft food diet due to some dental work and this was a nice treat for breakfast. I've also had their panini sandwich previously, which they'll warm for you (pre-made sandwich) if you ask and that was very delicious. I will definitely be going back for one of those as soon as I can eat normal food again! They are also one of the grocers that I found that carry the cotton candy grapes (which yes, they do taste like cotton candy), that my daughter loves...so we go here for these whenever she wants some. I've been in here a few times in search for Stonewall Kitchen Coconut Simmering Curry Sauce since they sell Stonewall products but have had no such luck. I always enjoy my shopping experience at The Fresh Market. It's an intimate setting with lots to browse and check out. However, it's pricey. You have to know you're going to spend extra on some of your items but the selection is fantastic. I truly enjoy the whole bean coffee selections which typically cost approximately $11/pound. Grounding your own peanuts for nut better? Yes, thank you. Bulk candies and nuts? Absolutely. Today I picked up a rotisserie chicken for just $5! That's a $3 savings. First, we love the store ombiance, it is cute and has a good vibe. If you are trying to shop for healthier alternatives turn around and walk out! I will start with the roaster chickens. I can not understand why they put sugar on the chicken, AND CARRAGEENAN! Carrageenan is in no way healthy and is known to cause inflammation, bloating, IBS and colon cancer. Really?? Moving on to the Oak Roasted Salmon, delicious but expensive. And, guess what, brown sugar was added... We wanted to buy some of your salads but YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY, that do not contain sugar. A common ingredient throughout your store is SUGAR! Either you have stock in BIG PHARMA or you despise diabetics. We will NEVER shop here again! read more

I LOVE the Fresh Market. 4 stars is only bc their prices are inflated for common items. I love the smell that hits you when you walk in here, you know their cooking up something good. Then you walk by fresh flowers and plants and then into the market feeling with produce on baskets and nice dimmer lighting. It's just a much more pleasant experience here than a typical grocery store. They sell ready made foods, have a hell of a cheese selection, an olive bar, nice coffee selection, bulk bins candies, snacks, and grains. Some years ago they used to do custom sandwich ordering, I wish they'd bring that back. Seemed like a few less options for grab and go and breads on this visit than when I used to live in the area but still plenty to choose from. I picked up groceries and a caprese panini pressed to order which was quite delicious. You can't go wrong stopping here if you need specialty ingredients. This store is okay. I usually end up shopping here if I'm looking for an item that might be 'fancier' than a typical grocery store would carry. There are many positives to this store: ready-made foods, great specialty salad selection in the deli, large variety of cheeses, many different kinds of ground coffee, interesting selection of beers, and nice selection of organic produce. However, they are a few negatives, too: the parking lot is hard to get in and out of, costs for many common items are exorbitant, there are never enough cashiers open for check out, the cupcake I bought from the bakery was stale, and, affecting me directly, there is this one guy behind the deli counter who has been a jerk to me a couple of visits there. So - between the jerk and the prices, I don't shop here very often. read more

I found this to be a very nice store with lots of things I wanted to eat. They have several "bar" areas for salads, seafood salads, olives as well as lots of prepared foods including sandwiches and whole roast chickens in various preparations. They also have some bulk foods to choose from. Definitely a.gourmet vibe and prices. It's not a Save-a-Lot, but we all deserve to live well. The fish and meat sections are impressive. Along with organic and conventional produce, and grocery items traditional groceries do not carry, they also have a lovely floral area with some of the most colorful flowers and orchids. Their Bakery section is always a test for my will power, and too many times has my diet been foiled by their tempting items. A vast selection of wine and bubbly for any occasion may be obtained. Their deli and meats are top-notch. Check out is quick and easy. I've yet to encounter a cashier there who wasn't pleasant, courteous and helpful. I've been shopping there for several years and always enjoy my Fresh Market shopping experience. If you haven't stopped in, I truly recommend a visit. Boxed potatoes are used for the Thanksgiving side dish, scalloped potatoes! What a rip-off! I paid 1.99/lb for 2 lbs of scalloped potatoes and the entire dinner table could tell boxed, not fresh, potatoes were used. Tasted horrible and fake. wasted money! read more

I come shopping on a regular basis in my carrollwood neighborhood I am a local for many years now I must say that whenever I enter into the fresh market although the store is very pleasant and clean this stuff in some departments seem a bit not so upbeat and makes the experience a little bit less than joyous whereas Publix shopping is always a pleasure in particular the bakery department staff don't seem too happy or friendly and no one really is offering to come to provide help or assistance in my personal experience I'm the few times I have gone in there maybe I would shop more if it felt more welcoming. read more

There are two but, the other person who is wearing a hoodie is enjoying her coffee. Which is fine just not within the area of food. Love me some fresh market! I come here for 3 reasons, olive bar, fresh flowers, and their candy selection. Olive bar: They offer an olive bar that has a verity of olives, garlic olives, olives stuffed with cheese, olives stuffed with jalapeños, and artichokes. It's around $11 for one lb of olives. Love mixing and matching the olives for snacks throughout the week. Fresh flowers: During the summer/fall they have lots of potted and fresh flowers. The fresh flowers I get from here last me a few weeks, depending on what type I get. Candy section: love their gummies! They offer a lot of seasonal candies during the fall, pumpkin, candy corn, & Carmel pretzels. They also allow you to fill a bag with different candies and charge you per pound. 3 stars for selection, -2 for uber high prices. Although hatch chiles were advertised on the chalkboard outside, no one inside in produce, including cashier knew what hatch chiles were. I got a misc bakery charge on my receipt, not the weight of the chiles, resulting in being overcharged. Prices are higher than Publix and some higher than Whole Foods. When I asked what grade the tenderloin was that the man was trimming, he told me grade A. Apparently they don't know the beef grades because it should be either Choice, Prime, government inspected, or utility grade. Lol. Pastry selections look great, but out of my price range. We stopped on the way home from the music store to check out, but will pass next time. read more

The reason for a 2 star rating is most of the employees. I've not encountered one nice person in the meat/fish area. Every time we go they are in bad moods and rude to people and us. We've told the manager and no hep there. Some running the registers are so rude. The cost of most food there is expensive so you would think the employees would be nice. read more

Because I would never get tired of coming here. --- --- --- Since moving to Carrollwood, I've been visiting Fresh Market fairly often, and each visit brings similar feelings to when you're first dating someone, and it's going well. My old Seminole Heights Publix was reliable, and got the job done, but we weren't growing with each other. Things had become stale. My Publix runs were uninspiring. With Fresh Market though... every time I visit, I get those butterflies. I'm filled with anticipation each time I walk through those doors. "What am I gonna find in here today??" Maybe something fun for dinner? Coffee beans? A great local beer? One thing is for sure, if you are looking for calories, Fresh Market is the Caloric Headquarters of the Southeast. Never have I seen so many cakes, sweets, candies, sugary drinks, etc in one place. I'd be shocked if they don't hold the Guinness record for most calories per square foot. Talk to me in a year, and things may be different, but this just feels right. read more

Long before Whole Foods came to town, Fresh Market was the high-end European-style market with an outstanding selection of produce, fruits, hand-butchered meats, an honest-to-goodness on-site fish monger, cheeses, deli, barrels of grains, nuts, dried fruits, cereals, and snack foods, and this incredible bakery department. Fresh Market is located in Carrollwood along Dale Mabry at the intersection with Fletcher Avenue. This used to be my go-to place for a fancy cut of steak, organic vegetables, and a nice bottle of wine, oh, and a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers too! All of that is still there, it's just that Fresh Market has more competition these days. Publix has branched out into their GreenWise offerings, and Whole Foods has opened a new megamart just up the road, and yet Fresh Market keeps going strong. This is not the store where you'll do the bulk of your grocery shopping as the prices are quite high, but it still works as a place to purchase some specialty grocery items for a nice meal. read more

The person who helped me at the butcher counter was very nice and then the other gentleman at the counter also helped me and was kind. One of the only places in the area that I can find fresh, not frozen, ground veal. There was also a man stocking the aisles and I asked him where something was and he said he could show me, I said I would find it and I continued shopping for other items. I recently purchased fruit for a salad I was making. I purchased a pineapple, blueberries, grapes, strawberries, blackberries. I was quite surprised at how bitter the strawberries were. Even cut up and placing with honey the taste only became slightly better. The blueberries had no taste. The blackberries had a slight sweetness but expected more flavor. The grapes were sweet .Wanted cantaloupe but, they were all dimpled. I spent $25.00 for this fruit. I will not be going back. Too expensive for my taste. Food is expensive to purchase and have most of it unflavored . I wonder if management eats the fruit. read more

Normally i would give the store a 5 star rating. However, both the pies we bought on Dec 24 were way under standards. The apple was too sweet, usually my favorite! The pecan was a muddy stuff under the pecans. This was so unusual i thought management might want to know. read more
