The former was not needed because I wanted an appointment as soon as possible and presumably not seeing a dentist could expedite scheduling; the latter was not needed because I am actively trying to become pregnant. The office told me that I would not be able to have a cleaning without an x-ray because "the law" requires that dental patients get x-rays at mandated intervals. I have researched all Florida statutes and regulations concerning dentistry: There is no such law. Apart from this lie, the office also informed me that pregnant women were fine to get x-rays which cause less radiation than "going outside." While I don't have data on that point, surely that cannot be the case. Moreover, it's worth mentioning that the one time I did have an issue, it could have been diagnosed with the x-ray Dr. Bailey performed. She, however, apparently didn't review the x-ray.

And when nothing was available she said, I'll keep my eye on it and if something opens up I'll call you. She was true to her word. Years ago Willis told me that some dentists prefer to wait for a $1,000 crown vs a $5 filling. Unfortunately it took me a while to realize he was talking about himself. New dentist said he normally refuses Willis' patients because their mouths are such a mess.

Dr. Lumpp's staff spend at least 30-45 minutes on a cleaning and are very thorough and gentle. She's done a filling for me with the white filling color and it looks perfect! Also, she's done 3 crowns for me. She will match the color of your tooth and the fit is absolutely perfect (sometimes this takes a few visits). They are knowledgeable about the latest dental techniques and the office is very comfortable. I don't have dental insurance so it is expensive (coming out of my pocket,) but it is WELL worth it! If you value your teeth and health, its a good investment. She does accept some insurances.. so check with her first!
