I was a patient of this practice before it became Prime Dermatology. Prior to my first appointment under the new ownership, I was asked to complete electronic intake forms that included an arbitration agreement. My understanding of the agreement was that it required patients to resolve legal claims through arbitration rather than in court. I chose not to sign the agreement because I was not comfortable waiving my right to pursue past, present or future claims in court. As a result, I was informed that I could not be seen unless I signed it. I believe patients should carefully review any arbitration agreement before signing it and understand its legal implications. This requirement was significant enough that I decided to seek dermatology care elsewhere. I had previously referred several people to the former practice, Divine Dermatology, and have since let them know about this policy so they can make their own informed decisions. read more

Dr. Carol is the best. She believed me when I was experiencing an awful, painful, sometimes smelly, chronic skin condition, she helped me find a great sunscreen my sensitive skin tolerates that I still use today, 3000 miles away. I can't say enough great things about her practice. read more

I was in search of a dermatologist in St Pete after moving here from Tampa. I have a lot of freckles and moles that I want to keep an eye on as well as some skin issues I wanted to address (what I thought might be eczema, or psoriasis). I knew it would take time to determine what these new skin issues were however, I didn't want to have to pay a fortune as I am a self pay patient. The front desk staff are always accommodating, smiling and patient. I love my Doctor! Dr. Alexandra was friendly and warm from the first introduction. I feel completely comfortable with her and her staff every time I visit. She's very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in my needs. She makes recommendations and thoroughly explains directions. We laugh and joke about things that may be uncomfortable and she really makes me feel like we're friends each time I see her. 10 out of 10 recommend! I have been a patient for several years and really appreciate this office. From the front desk to the exam room they are friendly, thorough, and have caught several cancers on my face. They referred me to a Moh's surgeon to make sure there was no scarring. My daughter has had a mole removed on her chin and there was no scarring as well. Never tried to sell me any products or procedures just checked my skin and recommended lotion and sunscreen. When I was recommended to have a treatment that my insurance barely covered, they called with different options that would cost less. That is a caring practice!! Also, I really appreciate a doctor that puts skin care and health first and allows you the freedom to inquire about anti-aging if you are interested. It is quite challenging to find a dermatologist that doesn't want to get you involved in a bunch of cosmetic procedures. I have not used those services, but have heard good things about those as well. Highly recommend!! read more

I recently visited to have skin tags removed. The fees are affordable. Dr. Sims and the Assisting professional were friendly, with great bedside manner, knowledgeable and timely during my visit.. I have visited derms with no knowledge of treating melanated skin, which I believe they should inform you of or seek help from a colleague who knows, but this is not an issue at Divine Dermatology. Excellent service from front greeting, to procedure, to check out & billing staff. Highly recommended! read more

I logged on to leave a review for this place -- and was absolutely shocked by the other reviews. I'm glad I didn't read them before, because I never would've come here. Luckily, I didn't, because I love this place! The staff is SO friendly, and I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for my appointment. (I get early morning appointments, which might be why). Since going to them, my acne's cleared up a TON, and I've also had several abnormal moles removed. Strongly recommend them :) read more

After having to cancel my annual skin cancer screening appointment, I receive a 50 dollar bill as a no show SIX months later. Now I am searching through email and phone records to prove that I did in fact cancel before the 24 hour time period OR they are threatening to send this to collections. I was a loyal client for years and referred many. Something is very very wrong in this office with the cut throat way they do business. They must really need 50 dollars. read more

I was so disgusted at the way we were treated at this office. I called and asked them if they specifically took my insurance, as I usually have trouble with my insurance and she said yes. I even asked if she was sure because this was the 5th office I'd called that day and I urgently needed an appt. I was booking in advance as we were out of town and needed to see someone as soon as we got back. When we arrived to the appointment, first thing the woman tells me is: "oh we don't take this insurance". I explained to her that I made sure when I made the appointment and I was assured it was okay and this has been a waste of my time. I booked the appoint 6 weeks in advance! Her response, "oh I can see "so'n'so" booked it and she always verifies insurance and she couldn't have made a mistake". We were so pissed off not only at not being able to see a doctor that day, but that they had done a careless job in the first place, wasting our time and then shoved the blame on us. AS IF I know what insurance they take and don't take. We just walked out, too flabbergasted to even consider talking further with them. read more

Doctor Simms is kind and very knowledgeable about dermatology. She treats my entire family we all have different skin issues that she has been able to treat and heal. I Took my child to Dr. Sims to treat my childs arm. She removed what she had to, however she took way too much out. After procedure was done, we were ASSURED that the scar would get smaller and go back to normal color of her skin. W R O N G!!!!!! the scar got bigger, it still is a horrible color, and now there is a huge indentation in the upper arm where the procedure was done. If you want something removed, i would HIGHLY recommend going to a plastic surgeon, and not THIS Dermatologist. Now my child has to live w/ his/her arm looking the way it does for the rest of his/her life. Thank you Dr. Sims. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Sims for many years. My first experience with her was for what I thought was just an annoying skin infection. I described it to the staff person over the phone and she got me in the next day. Dr. Sims was very professional and polite and made me feel comfortable. She took one look at the lesion and suspected that it was a MRSA, a potentially deadly infection. She removed the lesion and surrounding tissue and treated me for MRSA until the labs came back. Thank God she was so knowledgeable because the lab results confirmed that it was in fact a MRSA. If she hadn't presribed the correct antibiotic and treated the lesion appropriately, I might not still be here to write this review. I have continued as a patient of Dr. Sims and have gotten Dysport, Juvederm and dermabrasion and my skin is a walking testament of Dr. Sim's cosmetic talents. As a 44 year old Attorney, I have referred many friends, family and clients who have remarked about my skin. Everyone I have referred has been grateful for the recommendation and impressed by Dr. Sim's work. Dr. Sims is a wonderful and caring Dermatologist, so I am very suspicious of the prior review. Her work is superb and she has a lovely, conveniently-located office with amiable staff. I cannot fathom why the prior reviewer would claim that she went to a Dr's office three times and paid nearly 900 dollars on each occasion where she thought people were rude or hadn't performed satisfactory work. Dr. Sims is in her late 60's with a quiet, gentle demeanor, that disgruntled young woman bashing Dr. Sims seems to need a Psychiatrist, not a Dermatologist! read more

In celebration of "Breast Cancer Month" I want to thanks Dr. Sims-Robertson for transforming my "chemo ash" skin into soft, supple, youthful skin !! As a result of her professional training and experience my skin is better than it was before cancer! After years of chemo treatments my pores were enlarged, my skin discolored, blotchy and with that lack-luster appearance that cancer treatment leaves. I'm so grateful for this woman's expertise and sensitivity with people, but especially with cancer survivors. My Oncologist is great but he didn't understand that once I was cancer-free I needed to be restored in order to be totally whole. She even has my hair thickening and the edges regrowing. I thought that because of menopause and hypertension and other meds, that my hair would be sparse forever. . This is a doctor that you can trust. My medical condition is both unique and complicated.There were treatments that I wanted that were more expensive but she didn't recommend them because of her extensive in-depth knowledge in internal medicine, oncology as well as dermatology. My self-esteem is soaring! People are telling me how great I look and I'm so glad that I don't look like what I've been through!! Kudos to Dr.Sims-Robertson and her supportive staff. She is worth her weight in gold... all 115 lbs of her :0). read more

Good dermatologist.... but expect to wait over an hour to be seen. Not a "lunch break" kind of appointment.

Divine Dermatology is horribly unprofessional - specifically "Dr." Sims. "Dr." Sims was very rude to me and flat out unprofessional upon my 3rd $875.00 laser hair removal treatment visit. On the prior visit I'd communicated that it appeared my first treatment wasn't done thoroughly/properly. So I inquired and asked for a reference I could call. Following that, on my third visit - with me laying there naked from waste down short of a small tissue cover - Dr. Sims walked in and immediately began teasing/taunting me saying "so you've turned 40 and now you've finally found your patience" - shaking her head at me. I lay there, pantless, and said "excuse me?" And she expounded, saying that she was glad I'd piped down because before (when I'd merely asked consumer questions and asked for a referenced - because I'm spending $875 with each visit) I was "so impatient." I again asked for her to explain what she meant by that and she went further into her explanation in a very rude, sarchastic, unprofessional way, shaking her head like she'd won because I'd returned. I sat up and said "I am going to leave now." But she HELD ME UP while I sat there with no pants on in a doctor's office. She wanted to check my folder, which happily showed I had paid in full for my past $875-each services (would she have locked me up?) so only THEN did she close the folder, fiddle about the office a bit acting like she was preparing to leave. Then she stood at the door and said "I'm not sayin' you have to stay and I'm not sayin' you gotta leave - it's a free country you know." I just sat there silently thinking - this doctor has me locked in a room with no pants on. She finally left and I got out of there as quickly as I could. Ugh, it was awful and I literally felt dark after being there. She does not operate like a professional or like a doctor at all. In addition, on my 2nd service "Dr." Sims was not in the office and when I spoke to an assistant, asking about whether they would redo my first service at the end of my year of services, the assistant shook her head "no" - and said just "Dr. Sims" and then did the money sign by rubbing her fingers together, indicating Dr. Sims only cares about the money. I'm happy to share further. It's sad b/c as a Shorecrest mom, I'm sure a good experience would result in many referrals. My only comments about "Dr." Sims and Divine Dermatology is - DON'T GO. Frightening. I'm still wondering, should I have called the police when she was standing in front of the door? read more

all i can say is i waited two months to get appt with doctor day of appt had all my papers,insurance card,money,etc,. the sarcastic girl ta front desk said she needed a credit card number to keep in my file so for any despute they can charge it on your card when i said i don't have one she said well the doctor can't see you then .i said i have money but they want the plastic so sad.this is my first experence where to see a doctor you need to secure it with a credit card. read more

I had previously been a patient of Dr. Sims. I had not been in some time. It came a time that my mother had to go to a dermatologist. I brought her to doctor Sims. I could not have made a better choice. Dr. Sims caring a compassionate team is what my mother needed. Not only did she receive excellent care. She was also treated with respect and dignity. Beware!!! This place is a scam. They make you come to multiple multiple appointments to get your money when one or two visits could have done the job.
