In 2024, Nearby Plumbing visited our home to answer questions, inspect, and provide a free estimate…read morefor several issues related to our new home's plumbing, gas line, and sewage ejector pump. Different plumbers were used during our home build, and unfortunately, those other plumbers took costly shortcuts on our home. We had something come up, which required postponing the work for about a year, but Nearby Plumbing happily returned and provided updated estimates, answered more of our questions and again didn't charge us a penny. We scheduled the work and Nearby Plumbing helped us fix a gas line that was leaking in a few locations inside of our mechanical room, added a missing service valve to our sewage ejector pump and also upgraded the pump to include a grinder (reducing chances of a clog and sewage backup), added a wifi monitoring alarm to the ejector pump (to alert us in case the pump ever fails), and added a hose spigot to our mechanical room to make filling up emergency water storage easier. Nearby Plumbing was great to work with. I appreciated their patience with scheduling the work on our timeline, the way they listened to our questions and concerns, and their solutions to correct the issues that our builder and original home-build contractors left us with. My wife and I have learned that finding contractors who are honest, good at what they do, and who treat your home as if it were their home is less common these days. I'm glad we found Nearby Plumbing. They are our new go-to plumbers! :-)

I cannot recommend Salt City Plumbing and Paul Manley enough. Our journey to finding them was paved…read morewith high-stress moments that no family should have to endure. When our previous water heater failed--a catastrophic blowout caused by the absence of a pressure regulating valve on our building's common supply line--we felt isolated and overwhelmed. The struggle to get our HOA and K&R Premier Property Management to take responsibility for this common area failure was already draining us. We initially contacted a company called Superior Water and Air (only because of a sticker that was on the 6 year old, failed water heater), hoping for a professional resolution. Instead, we were met with a predatory nightmare. They attempted to upsell us on services we didn't need and demanded an additional $1,000 on top of the price we had already agreed on the morning of install. They even fabricated technical excuses, claiming our home required a complex, four-port commercial system--a loop they had installed years prior that was utterly unnecessary for our residential home. That's when Paul Manley and Salt City Plumbing stepped in, and the difference was night and day. Paul didn't just walk into our home as a plumber; he walked in as an advocate. He immediately saw through the pressure tactics of the previous company, sitting us down to patiently explain exactly what our home needed--a standard, reliable two-port system. He took the time to show us the 'why' behind everything, cutting through the confusion with honesty and integrity. Because of Paul's transparency, we realized this plumbing failure was tied to a larger, unresolved issue regarding our HOA's failure to maintain the building's common area PRV. Paul's expertise didn't just give us hot water within 20 hours; it gave us the clarity and confidence to stand our ground. Knowing that Paul and his team are in our corner--honest, bonded, licensed, and deeply committed--has turned a disaster into a story of restoration. We've worked with Paul before at our old home, and this experience only solidified the profound trust we have in him. In a world that often feels cold and transactional, Paul's kindness and unwavering integrity provided us with peace of mind that we truly can't put a price on. If you want a plumber who genuinely cares about your situation and treats your home with respect, look no further than Salt City Plumbing. Cheers, Mateo & Heidi

I've been a Scott Hale customer for many years now. They've done many jobs for me and they also…read morereplaced my water heater, furnace and AC unit when they conked out. The old furnace went out the day before Thanksgiving one year, and they had a new one installed and running the same day. I appreciate the employees who have provided good service over the years. In the beginning I referred friends to SH, saying they are not necessarily cheap but they do good work. (Looking back, I realize however that I overpaid for the new water heater and other some other major expenses, I was just naïve and didn't do due diligence. More about overcharging below.) That being said, I've given up on SH. Too often my encounters with its employees go wrong. The person they send may or may not have experience with my issue, and they never ask for help from other employes. One recommended I have a new air intake installed (he came twice and couldn't get rid of the awful noise) and when I finally got a different guy over, he fixed the whistling noise just by recaulking the area; it was gone in minutes. Another guy made excuses for the (unsupervised) people who ripped up large patches of drywall because they didn't know to go through an interior wall; SH paid for the extra drywall repairs, which I appreciated. Another guy freaked out about the "sewage" he imagined must be under the board beneath my sink (there was none). Another couldn't tolerate me saying that I had never had a leaky condensation pipe until they replaced the AC. My 10+ years in my home meant nothing, and this is consistent: many times the repairmen will not give credence to anything I say, and however neutrally I state it, react as if I'm challenging them in some way. The latest incident is the $1800 estimate for replacing my kitchen sink (labor only). The guy said it would take 2-3 hours to remove the old sink (!!) and added that he would "cap the pipes" so I wouldn't lose water to the rest of house. I mean, there's upselling and then there's just BS. The plumber I hired removed the old sink in 20 mins and is charging a few hundred dollars for the whole job (including installing the new one). And of course the water to the house didn't have to be shut off, there are valves right under the sink. I'm really appalled they would just...lie.
