Excellent work by Steve Logan on a bent and broken screen door screen. Prime Glass is the only place around with the right-fitted frame that we needed for our old porch screen door (replacing the whole door for this would have been expensive and dumb). He even gave us a sample to test in the frame to make sure it fit...was tighter than the screen we had, so better! Looks and works great. Thank you, Steve! Best $100 spent! But, please...your older female co-worker with asthma...needs to wear a mask when she's THREE feet from me (I ALSO HAVE ASTHMA). A mask will not kill her; I wear a KN95 all the time. I spoke with them about creating a custom hinged tub door for my new walk in whirlpool bathtub- definitely not a standard order as the tub was not a standard size. Larry came to my house, listened to my concerns and specific requests, took exacting measurements, and sent me a reasonable quote on a timely basis. Before ordering, he checked back in with me on the style of handle I wanted on the door. Throughout the process, he made suggestions that resulted in a beautiful and functional door. The installers were clearly skilled and did a fantastic job with the installation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who wants the job done right. And to those reviewers who were surprised that they didn't want your business... as a lifelong customer service professional, I can't say I blame them one bit. Summary: customer service - none. usage of email - dinosaur age This is prob one the worst places that I have to deal with during my year long renovation project. and all I wanted from this place is a shower door and a splash guard. Tom, the person who came twice to my place to take measurement, is obviously very knowledgable of this area. However, mind you, what I want to do in this space is not difficult/complicated. After I have signed the contract and emailed it back to Tom, after several weeks, I didn't hear anything back. I called Tom and asked him when can i put down my deposit so that we can get the project going. he claimed that he never received the email, and that he'll check his inbox and get back to me. A couple more weeks gone by, I still have not heard back from him, I called again. and this time, he said that he'll need to come back and measure AGAIN. Sure, I do understand that you want things to be perfect, but in reality, nothing has changed since the last time he was here [come on, you think my finished bathroom has moved???] After I express my concern with his communication style, he turned it around and telling me that I am a difficult customer. He thinks that working with me will be tough and when things get dragged out, it's a signal that it's problematic. I am sorry, sure, it took me awhile to get all the quotes and make a decision on it, but he is equally at fault as well! In his "old-school" mentality, he thinks he has seen all sorts of customer, and he is drawing a conclusion based on his "professional experience" Needless to say, I am on the quest to find someone else. If I could rank them no stars I would. Brought a window in for repair and the guy got tired of my questions so he grabbed my window and tossed it outside of his store...this was the owner or manager. Makes me sick to my stomach that a place like this is in business. Anyone who had good exp there must not have been there when this manager was there. My mother was with me and she'l started yelling at this man, I had to pull her away. Worst customer service I have experienced in my life. Tom was very cordial in the store but when he came to measure he became extremely hostile. He got annoyed because I asked him to explain the different door openings. He then called me the next day and told me that he could not do the job because he thought I would cause him trouble in the future. I needed a piece of glass cut for an odd sized frame and picture- I must have Googled every word group imaginable to find a place that cut glass. For some odd reason, I could not find anyone to do it. Then viola- I tried again- and up came Prime! I called ahead, arrived at closing on a Saturday, and they reopened to help me. My glass was ready the day they said it would be. When I went to pick it up- the owner was working. Had he been any nicer- I would have broken all of the glass in my house and come back just to be his customer. He offered me a cloth and glass cleaner to clean it, as I put an old family painting back together. When I had originally gone in, the gentleman who helped me quoted me $18.00. When I went to pick up the glass, the bill was $27.00. They immediately changed the bill to $18.00. These guys get service! I could not get home fast enough to write this review! I wish there was a zero star rating, that's what Tom earned his company today. I work at a small hotel in the area, and we called him to come take measurements on some custom tabletop glass for bedsides, desks, etc. We've had them cut custom orders before that took 3 times as long as promised, but still came out great in the end. This time, he took a quick look at the work, and told me that it would be exorbitantly expensive for me, and that the work was not worth it for him. I asked how this was possible since he'd be profiting from the high price tag, and he started telling me the glass would break if people touched it and that the factory that makes the glass is over 600' long and some other totally irrelevant and unprofessional nonsense. Finally I asked him to give me a loose estimate for the work, which he either was incapable of quoting, or uninterested in, or more likely, both. He mentioned something about how he would charge $800 to cut patterns for the custom glass, and that if I needed tempered glass it would cost whatever the price of a 5'x5' piece is, regardless of the sizes we needed. I asked if they owned the tempering oven or if it was outsourced labor, and he aggressively told me that "If I owned a $6 million tempering machine, I'd sell it to you and retire!" Again with the irrelevant and ridiculous information, delivered in an offensive and insulting manner. Save yourself the time and don't even consider Prime Glass, or you'll be doing what I did 15 minutes ago, telling him to get out of my property and forget any future business. Prime Glass & Mirror is a prime example of how not to run a business, and they deserve all the bad business karma they'll receive. read more

This place was re only place who would cut a custom sized mirror the same day. I was told 4pm but I came early. They got it cut and polished beautifully in just 15 minutes. I called this store to find out a quote on a coffee glass table, and I was told it was 20.00. I called back to give them the exact measurements, and the owner (or who ever was working there) said it 30 dollars. I told him I was quoted 20, and he said there was no one else there and that that it was now 36 dollars and he could lower it to 30, and thought maybe I heard wrong and it was really 26 dollars and that he didn't need my business, kept talking over me as I tried to explain why glass type I need, and said they only carry one type which was the 36.00. I realize no one enjoys working on a Saturday, but to be so rude with a potential customer? Would not recommend. read more

Called early Saturday morning after searching (and calling) for an hour to the other local "big guys", who do not do custom glass pieces or cutting (and were not helpful at all), then called Prime Glass and long story short, had 2 beautiful custom cut glass shelves done within 3 hours. Steven the manager is exceptionally helpful and willing to help - save yourself the time, money and frustration of searching around with the chains and just call these guys - they get the job done! read more

I needed a piece of glass to protect a wood table top, and I was particularly concerned that I'd order it and it'd be off by a quarter or even an eighth of an inch, which would bug me for years to come! Sadly we got a mirror 6 years ago for our bathroom from Prime Glass. It recently fell off the wall and we were extremely lucky nothing happened to anyone. The mirror broke into a million pieces and damaged the wall, door and floor. After calling Prime and telling them what happen they wouldn't replace the mirror and blamed the contractor for how it was secured to the wall. They installed it and they should take the blame for what happen. Their response was unexceptable. They don't stand behind there product or installation. read more

Despite having used Yelp for years, I have never registered for an account. No particular reason. Today I decided to write my first review ever...why? Because I just had extraordinary service from Prime Glass in Watertown! I recently renovated a basement bathroom (small space and low ceiling) and had three companies come for quotes for a frameless glass shower. The 1st company had some ok ideas but wouldn't consider doing it frameless unless one panel on this neo-angle shower went all the way to the ceiling to guarantee stability of the glass door being hinged to it. They strongly recommended a header be used. The second company didn't have any other ideas and would only do the header as well. In addition they were more than a thousand dollars more than the Prime estimate. I was getting ready to travel and wanted to get a third estimate so I called Prime fully expecting not to get an appt. until after the holidays. Diane answered and said she would try to get someone out asap and would it be ok to call my cell. A few hours later, Larry the owner called and said he was on his way! He was there in 20 minutes and was pleasant and knowledgeable. I asked a million questions and he answered every one. He said without even hesitating that he could do it frameless. I was skeptical. I asked more questions and he answered them all with patience. He even redid all his measurements to make sure. I think he spent twice the amount of time the other two companies did. Not because he was slow but because he wanted to make sure I was satisfied. He assured me that if I wasn't satisfied or it didn't work that he would come out and do it all over with not a single cost to me. He left and I pondered my three options. I really wanted to go with Prime but was still concerned why these two other companies would firmly not do this neo angle shower completely frameless. I decided to wait a week before making my decision. After a week I called Prime back and spoke with Paul and explained my concern again. He wasnt sure why they wouldn't do it but he did say that they had done similar bathrooms and they had all been fine. He also firmly stood behind the customer satisfaction policy and stated that they wanted us to be completely happy with it or they would do it all over no charge. So, I went with Prime! After that I realized I got so caught up in my concern about the stability I forgot to add to my order that I wanted low iron glass and a towel bar. Diane was nothing but pleasant and helpful when I called back and made sure it got added. The two gentlemen (Hector and Sergio) who came to install my glass were friendly, neat, tidy, efficient and did a fantastic job! I can't say enough good things about this company.
