Prime Granite (PG) recently completed a kitchen remodel for me here in the S. Bay (San Jose) that I could not be more pleased with. Additionally, I had new bathroom (primary and guest) vanities, quartz countertops, backsplashes and sinks installed. From start to finish, everyone I worked with was responsive, flexible, knowledgable and kind (all excellent traits in general but especially for a renovation newbie like myself). While I kept the original layout of my kitchen, full demolition was necessary and as such, new cabinetry and hardware, kitchen sink and quartz countertops and backsplash were required, all of which I was able to select from their showroom offerings. They also completed a breakfast bar for me with a quartz countertop with waterfall edge time match the kitchen counter top waterfall. I will say first that the final product (kitchen counters) looks good. However, there a few things contributing to my 3-star review. From the beginning: we went to the warehouse to look into getting an estimate, and we spoke to Aman. He was very thorough and very knowledgeable about the process and pricing. We chose a granite and a backsplash we liked and waited while he looked up the pricing. The backsplash was marked at $11.95/sq ft. He came back and told us that "unfortunately, the price of this has gone up and it just wasn't reflected here." Okay, I understand that (kinda). The new price? $18.95/sq ft. How does something go up $7/sq. ft without it ever having been updated? A dollar or two, I would understand, but $7? I feel like they should've honored their marked price or met us in the middle. When I got home, I looked up the exact backsplash online and found it for $12.95/sq. ft. I felt like he was intentionally trying to rip us off there, and for that reason, we ultimately decided to do the backsplash ourselves and have them do our counters. Day of installation: two men came out and without paying any attention to what they were doing, tracked plum all over my light carpet. Yes, the plums were from our front yard and it does create a mess, but I would expect someone who does this for a living to come prepared with drop cloths or shoe covers, since they know they'll be in and out all day long. Nope. We actually had some drop cloths of our own, and put them down after the fact but the damage was already done. Installation itself went okay, but the last factor contributing to my review is their sloppiness in cleaning up after themselves. I already mopped my kitchen floor (it's laminate), so I don't have pictures, but again, they tracked plum all over it. I was irritated at their i attention, but I can (and did) clean that up. What I have not been able to clean yet is a glob of their glue off my laminate. If I get down there with a Brillo pad or abrasive sponge, I will most likely be able to get it, but again, I should not be responsible for cleaning up their mess after what I'm paying them! Their work is decent, but I'd be hesitant to use them again! read more

First off, 100 stars for Nicole. The one star was for the follow up with the man I spoke to on the phone to get an estimate started after telling him we were going with them. I emailed him our rough planning that was requested along with measurements but nearly three weeks later, we haven't heard back. We live in the Bay Area and work odd hours so we can't just pick up and head there on a whim, to which the gentleman understood. We ended up spending close to $30k on our remodel somewhere else and do wish we worked with them since Nicole was so awesome but...things end up the way they're supposed to I suppose. read more

We went in to pay balance off and pick up back splash I noticed amount he had did not match up with mine on my invoice . I then confronted the owner which his name is Aman and started having an attitude and getting very loud with me . These guys are great. The installation of cabinets, counter tops, and back-splash was flawless. We were able to get new cabinets with an island, quartz counter tops, and a glass tile back splash for the same price another business wanted us to pay just for cabinets. The materials are all high quality including dovetail joints for the drawers. I am so very happy with our new granite countertops and backsplashes. I've never attempted a home renovation before so was very nervous about making such a big investment. Aman gave me good advice and respected my budget, which wasn't very much but was a lot of money to me. I felt my job was as important to Aman as any other job he had going on and he's got many projects going at once. I never once felt rushed. He understood this was a big deal for me and treated me with respect, giving me all the time I needed to look at what he had. The showroom is immense! The slabs he has available are in so many colors it was easy to find exactly what I was looking for and at a much lower cost than I ever imagined. After planning to renovate my house for a year I was feeling overwhelmed looking at all the home improvement websites and DIY tv programs but working with Aman, I felt confident in my choices. I was concerned about the disruption to my family (I have three dogs) but needn't have worried because the demo crew and installers were very understanding and respectful about how weird it is to have my house under construction. I had ALL the countertops and sinks in my home replaced at once: 2 1/2 baths, a wet bar and kitchen. There was a little hiccup when I didn't understand that subway tile backsplashes are trimmed with grout only which I didn't like. I researched counter tops for our kitchen remodel from Los Angeles to the Bay area. On checking yelp I found the reviews for Prime and being only 7 miles away checked with them. They were very knowledgable, helpful and patient. They explained the difference between levels of materials and cost differentials. They came out within a couple of days and gave an estimate the next day. They told us the day they would begin and finish demolition, began installation 3 working days later and were finished at the promised time. Our experience was almost ok until the tile cracked 3 months in. I called them out to look at it and they scheduled to have one slab replaced. Then, a few days before the appt. I called to confirm and someone else answered and decided that they wanted to make sure it was something they had to replace after the ok was already given. Now normally when you order granite there it will come in about a week later and they make you come down to the store and inspect it to make sure its ok but they didn't do that for the replacement. They did say it was new but it was not. It literally looks like they pulled it out of the junk pile in the back of the lot. After installation they usually clean and seal it but I don't think they did that either. They were able to save the back splash so now my new slab of granite is grayish and doesn't match the back splash. The slab is cloudy and not really shiny like the rest and the back splash and counters. My husband called to see what they could do about that and they argued that it was fine but after he kept saying it didn't look good, they said they would look for a shiny coat of something and they never called back. We made most of the calls to them. They would say they would call back and hardly ever did. We had to keep calling them to get things done. I am very disappointed in the process of replacement and really wish I would have went elsewhere so that we would have gotten quality customer service and a quality product. read more
