6/23/21: I contacted them & they were able to move my grandmother's belongings from VA Beach to Norfolk in the timeframe I needed. They were on time & there were 2 guys. I had to work, so my son's dad dealt with them. He said they were friendly and tried to be quick. The problem I have is that I had to come back to see that they damaged my grandmother's BRAND NEW bed foundation by clearly dragging it on the ground & they never said a thing. There's no way they didn't know they did this. I spent $200 on it weeks before this move & it was not damaged before they moved it. I'm disappointed & will never use their services or recommend them to anyone. They also lost screws from her bed & screw ends to the brass part of her bed. Again, no word about it before they left. It's bad business to damage property & not take accountability for their actions. Unacceptable!! read more

Tom moved me over the Labor Day weekend from my storage unit to my 3rd floor apartment on a plenty warm day dealing with a mini shower that came through and slowed progress. Unfortunately my last movers did a terrible job packing and getting my things into storage so lots of boxes were crushed. Found them thru Yelp, Honestly doubted them at first bec the owner I found out then was younger than experienced. Task was to move a 20x10 storage content to our house (then under construction). Asked for a team of 3, Owner (which I realized was the 3rd person) only came with another guy and was told the 3rd will be following. That didnt happen. Started at around 330pm, husband helped them for the 1st hour so it will be quicker. Left them at the storage 3/4 of the job done thinking they'll arrive at the house just in time after we prepped the way and space to put the boxes. That didnt happen. So in an hour 3/4 of the job was finished (Big GRATIS to my hubs), the remaining 1/4 was done after THREEEEEEEE hours (after we left the 2 of them). Either my husband being the 3rd worker, overworked or other funny reason we cannot conclude. So they arrived at the house at sun down. And again my good husband helped out again unload. The reason why I posted this 4 months after the job was beacause of this: My husband specifically mentioned to them during the 1st few mins after starting that there's one fragile box that they need to take care of, where gadgets and computer parts with other impt stuff are contained. It was opened already that's why he reiterated extra care to handle it. And guess what, that was the sole one they dropped as they confesed (maybe because the condition it arrived was far from being unnoticed) So I guess being open that it was, contents fell off. There included in tht box was 3 of my japanese kitchen knives gifted by hubby during his station in Japan. Two small ones I recovered and now I am looking for the 3rd one. The longer one and unfortunately my most fave and mose expensive. This is not in the hopes of retrieving it back (Although I would have loved to) Point is I have almost forgotten you of your questionable 5 hrs of labor but then when your trust is broken, mess with anybody but a lady. BOW! Hopefully we can get stationed in Japan again, get a new Knife but when it's time to manage with our move, I have learned lessons not to be overly trusting. CIAO! BOW! As a military officer, I have moved more times than I can count. I am used to all of the trials and tribulations that occur as part of a move and I never look forward to any of them. That being said, my recent move with Prime Movers USA to Virginia Beach, VA was as close to perfect as I have ever experienced. Specifically, for the first time, I sustained NO damage at all. This in and of itself was a small miracle, but I think what I really enjoyed about this experience was the ease of the entire process. They came out, in person, and conducted an in-depth walkthrough and an extremely accurate estimate. In fact, I paid EXACTLY what they quoted, with no tricks, gimmicks or modifications. Next, the day before the move, Prime Movers USA professionally packed everything I had, they loaded everything into their truck and they stored it for the night. The next day, they transported everything to VA Beach, unloaded everything and unpacked everything. They even removed all of the trash and packing material before they left! All I had to do was rearrange a few things and that is it, I was done! Can you imagine an entire move taking place in two days with nothing to do but rearrange a few things? Expeditious, stress-free, professional, and extremely cost-effective are the adjectives that come to mind when describing Prime Movers USA! I think the only thing I would have done differently was request they start an hour or two earlier... toward the end of the day, I was getting tired, and I was just watching. All I can say is wonderful!! I had reached out about a month in advance to get estimates and Tom responded promptly and was very accommodating about setting up a time to come to the house for the estimate. He got back to me very quickly with a fair estimate and set up a date to move us. He was on time that morning and had checked in numerous times leading up to the move to confirm time and date. He responded quickly to all my questions. On the day of the move, we had a crew of Tom plus three other movers who were all very polite and respectable. They were unbelievably fast at loading the truck and taking our furniture apart. When we arrived at the house later that day, they were just as wonderful unpacking the truck even though it was late and very hot. No one ever complained or rushed the job. Even with moving a three bedroom house, NOT A SINGLE thing was broken or missing. I was beyond impressed. I was excited about using this company because of the great reviews! They showed up 45 mins late, there was a bit of snow on the road (from last week), but they showed up! We packed most of our belongings to cut back on costs and I'm very happy that we did. They move SLOW, they didn't use a dolly to get all the items to the truck from a 3rd floor apt and it took them 4 hrs to get most, yes I said most, of the items in there. They were so slow we decided that we could handle the miscellaneous items left behind and I'm glad we did. The up charge for using boxes provided by them is ridiculous. They charged me $7 per framed pic or tv item "boxed" when in reality they used Saran Wrap and a blanket with some tape, no box provided. They charge $22 for every wardrobe box. We have a lot of moving left to do even though I just paid a hefty amount for them to move my items, no packing except wardrobe. I finally questioned them about using a dolly instead of moving one box at a time, seriously I'm not exaggerating, one box per person!! Things definitely picked up speed after I confronted them of dragging their feet on the move to make more $$. I moved last year and did it exactly the same way, with a couple more pieces and it took 4hrs to move everything. I paid for 6 hrs and we have a lot of work left. There was nothing placed on the floor to protect the carpet from getting dirty since it was wet out, we had to lay it down for them. Overall, I was stressed and unhappy. He did provide a "discount" at the end for being late and put my bed together. I wouldn't use them again. The two movers Tom had with him were very nice and worked hard. read more
