Well, the movers know what they are doing. They are efficient and good at what they do. Consistently it seems like the headquarters does not communicate back to them what the move is and some of the details that I provided on the phone. Would have been beneficial to have communication on the day of the move, they were delayed and I did not get an update , headquarters communicated 8 AM. They arrived at 9 AM. In the past we have used All My Sons for other moves with great success. To say this move was a failure would be a great understatement. I would like to start by saying I first contacted All My Sons on May 22, 2026 to book my move for June 8, 2026. I paid my deposit and discussed the move. We went over what was to be moved, and I will point out I was never asked for an estimated number of boxes. Though I was very clear that we have enough stuff to fill the 26 ft truck. I was quoted an hourly move with two movers. During that phone call I agreed to the hour travel surcharge but no 18% fuel surcharge was mentioned. On June 3, 2026 I received a text message asking for a phone call to finalize the details of my move. When I called, they asked the intake questions all over again. When I expressed that I had already done this process, I was told that it wasn't in the system and we had to do it again. At this point the move quote changed to an hourly with three men. I agreed. I was also told about the new 18% fuel charge at this time. I expressed that it was the first time I was hearing about it; and that it wasn't what I originally agreed to. Also of note, I have no correspondence from this time; and I paid my deposit but was not asked to sign anything. I was told we would be an "afternoon move" and would receive a phone call when the movers were on the way. On Friday June 5th, 2026 I was offered a protection plan, which I agreed to. Yesterday, June 8th, 2026 we waited through the day. At around 1014 am I called to check the status of the movers. I was informed that they should be calling me around 130pm-2pm to let me know they were on the way. I called again at 3pm to ask for an update. I was informed they were still working on the previous move, and that they should be calling soon. Around 4pm they showed up. It was immediately obvious that they were not prepared for the size of my move. Some time was wasted on the tablet that wasn't working. Then; I was informed that they would only be able to move exactly what was on the intake sheet. Which specifically listed a significantly smaller number of boxes, and a furniture list that did not match what I had told them during either intake phone call. I called the office for clarification. Now; I will admit I have a lot of stuff; but I was very honest about the fact that we would need the full truck. I was also informed that the crew only had 4hrs left on their DOT 11hr maximum. When I went over what we did have to move, it was met with a not worried tone, that it was fine. I expressed again that I had repeatedly told All My Sons that I would fill the 26ft truck. (Also of note about 1/4 of the truck was taken up by supplies). I was informed that the person I talked to yesterday wasn't the one who did my intake, either one. Also, at no point was I offered any alternatives. Not to move the move to another day, nothing. So, I felt pressured to get as much done as I could within the 4hrs. We loaded what we could in the first hour and a half into the truck, and left for the delivery location. When we arrived, there was yet another administrative delay, as there was no one to take my payment; and they could not start unloading until it was finalized. I will note at this point I was extremely tired, stressed, and felt like I was in a hostage situation. I signed, and once we actually got someone on the phone, I paid. Acutely aware the entire time that we were burning into the remaining 2 hour window. At around 815pm they were finished. With enough time to spare to get back to where they needed to; within the 4hour window I was given. I would like to point out at this time; upon reviewing my recept this morning, that the end time I was charged for was 930pm. Which means that I was charged for a little over a whole extra hour. As I take stock, we probably accomplished less than half of my move. It is important to note that the movers themselves were amazing, and the only complaint I can find about them is that they were exhausted and rushed; through no fault of their own. read more

I used this company to move me from my condo into a storage unit in July 2025z. I used them again few days ago to move the exact same furniture from storage to a new home. Initially , I was pleased because the employees were hard workers, professional and did not stop in the heat of summer with 3 different floors . Unfortunately, I am extremely upset to find that all of my furniture ( wood pieces ) are damaged . And I am not exaggerating when I say all. Some with significant, deep scratches . These are pieces I've had for many years and were well taken care of . I hope not to have to move again anytime soon, if I do, u won't be using this company. read more

On the day of my scheduled move, the team called and cancelled on me because their truck was down... The best thing they could offer was only $150 off of my move and to reschedule until Monday. It has taken me quite some time to write this review. The short review is DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!! The longer review - right off the bat, they told me they couldn't start my move until lunch time, which I was fine with.... then they called me at 7:30am and said they'd been trying to reach me. They used the wrong number to get in touch with me and they said they were outside . They never gave me a heads up they could come earlier so I was stressed right off the bat. Then, I was greeted rudely by the movers, and they both smelled horribly of weed. They were sluggish the whole move and didn't cover my couch to protect it or anything. They took all day and it shouldn't have taken more than 3-4 hours as I had already moved a bunch of items out already. They drove away and never told me they were leaving so they took all my stuff to my new place without telling me. I had thought they'd stolen my stuff. I called corporate and they were no help. They also forgot to pack a lot of items. They got to my new apartment after me (not sure how if i left 20 min after them) and they refused to unpack anything until i HAND WROTE my credit card information on a slip of paper. They took forever unpacking my items. They lost things, and put my bed and vanity together horribly causing HUGE safety concerns. I moved maybe 30 minutes away and I had damage on every single one of my items. I used another company when I moved across the country and I had NO damage. That just proves the quality of their work. I called corporate to make a formal complaint and the general manager was EXPECTING MY CALL! THATS HOW BAD IT WENT. I did not receive a full refund I requested. They still made me pay for the transportation of my items which is bullshit but whatever. The manager basically said that the person who moved my stuff was on their last chance and he was no longer employed with them. Why did it take my stuff getting destroyed for them to fire him when they knew he was a problem? The higher up manager basically begged me not to write a bad review. Broke my 65" Sony TV within an hour of handling it. I have taken care of that TV for almost 10 years, including during a move from Spain to Florida and from Florida to Virginia Beach--ZERO damage. All My Sons moved it 30min across town and it's damaged beyond any discernible picture. Completely unusable. Wouldn't even be a big deal to me but they offered $175 for a TV I bought for $650. If I hit someone mailbox and it was completely broken, I wouldn't offer them $5. It's just insulting and evident what little integrity a lot of people have these days. read more

I would give this company negative starts if I could. We are a military family and move all the time and this was by far our worse move ever. Also I would not even buy the insurance even though they break everything. We had about $4000 in damages and they gave us $500 and that was after fighting forever to just get that. If it was possible to give ZERO stars I would have. The only slight saving grace for the company is the customer service was mostly great. 1) I never received a final bill detailing costs. 2) The movers broke my stuff by trying to FORCE it down the stairwell. I had to throw stuff away because of them. 3) The movers wasted my time by spending close to an hour using MY RESTROOM. 4) The movers drug out the move intentionally by not using the dolly and had moving everything. 5) I heard the lead mover talking about how he intentionally drags out the time so "get [his] money" and that the company knows that he does it. 6) They showed up LATE. They were supposed to be here between 8-9. Called me at 850 (ish) saying they would be there in 30 minutes. An hour later I called them back and they said it would be another 15 minutes. Called the main office and asked what was going on and the mover called me back asking me why I called the office...cause you are an hour late dude.... 7) THEY DROPPED MY BOXES WHILE UNLOADING. 8) The main office HUNG UP ON ME when I called back to correct the finishing time. I didn't get my money back despite them finishing early and my deposit WAS NOT applied to my total or returned. WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER. My local move took 30 minutes to pack up from my house and should have only taken 30 minutes to unpack at the apartment. The drivers dragged their feet at the end, and I had to pay for an extra 15 minutes. I highly recommend NOT using this company. To think they expect a tip as well for bad service! BY FAR THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE!!! The movers were very inexperienced and wasted a lot of time talking on the phone or just standing around just so that I would be charged more. It took them 6 hours to move and 4 of those hours they had only moved the dining room table and clothing. It wasn't until my boyfriend showed up that they really started moving. He had to direct them on how to move and maneuver the furniture and he even helped them move the beds, dressers, sofas, washer, dryer, and etc that should have been moved in the first 4 hours they wasted. They left trash in my driveway that I had to later clean up. They took so long that the manger called and said they ran out of time. So I spent the rest of the night until morning moving my stuff with my own moving truck. To make matters worse I was told they had to keep my items overnight so I had to wait until the next day for my things to be moved. This time they actually sent experienced movers (shout out to Bo, Justin and Q who did an excellent job). To top it off they damaged my home by putting dents in the ceiling and wall. They also scuffed up the walls and floors. I filed a claim and they only offered $275. The damage was beyond that. They did not get a quote from a contractor to justify the reason why they were only offering $275, they just gave me a poor excuse about the legal liability limit. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. They pretend to be sympathetic but won't actually take full accountability or financially right their wrongs. As a veteran I am disappointed because Bryce (the manager I spoke to) is a veteran and he kept apologizing but still charged me more than I should have to pay for that nightmare of a move. read more

I scheduled a move for Friday, January 23 and they booked it for Jan. 30. First problem, could be an honest mistake. The guy that called me was not the friendliest to tell me that the information I had given them said the 30th. Long story short I was refunded my hundred dollar deposit. I went back onto Yelp and filled out a form and got responses from several different companies. I called back the first company that texted me and set up a moving date for Friday the 23rd and put down $100 deposit. Three hours later, the same guy from your company called me back fussing me out for rebooking with your company. I explained to him that all I did was go through yelp and your company reached out to me and said they had an opening. They booked me, and the guy called me and continued to say there was no opening that it must've been a glitch. I was refunded my $100 again. To make matters worse this was 2:30 on Thursday afternoon and my move was supposed to be the next day. You would think the person would be kind on the phone, but that didn't happen he was extremely rude. I went with Johnson and Johnson's moving company. On our video walk through I told them that we would need 3 trucks since we moved across country 6 months prior with 3 trucks . My husband spoke with them requesting 3 trucks and 8 movers. Moving day arrived and 2 trucks with 8 movers arrived . We provided lunch as these guys were working hard on a hot day . As the day wore on I noticed the number of movers dwindling to 5 movers with a 3rd truck never showing up . When I inquired, I was told that they didn't have an extra truck to spare and the other movers had to go to another job , but we wouldn't be charged for the 3rd truck . That wasn't a bonus for us since we actually needed 3 trucks and 8 movers . When my husband called he was told we actually had 9 movers , which we didn't , since I have the ability to count . Also that the first truck was already at our home 30 minutes away unloading , which it wasn't since I was looking at it . The first truck eventually met me at our new home and they unloaded and a couple of hours later the second truck arrived. We ordered the guys dinner since it was running late into the evening . Afterward the first truck left to finish the job since we never had the third truck . Around 9:30 ish they said they had cleared the house and asked if they could deliver it the next day. We said no problem. At some point the company wanted to charge us time and a half which we refused since they didn't meet their obligation of the 3 trucks and the 8 movers . Movers arrived the next day thinking they could just unload and leave until they discovered the movers from the previous night just unloaded into our garage since it was so late into the evening . They didn't meet their obligation of moving items into the house that day since it was almost 11:00 pm at that point . We went back to the old house the next day to discover they had left so much that they had to go back again . They told my husband I told them to leave all the items there , which I would never have done considering we needed everything out . The workers for this company are hardworking and dedicated who have to pick up the slack for poor management. The management sitting in the air conditioned office need a day on the job to walk a mile in their shoes when their scheduling affects them so adversely read more

Moved West Coast to East Coast. The moving guys were great. Problem-customer service needs a zero rating. Rude,condescending,game players. Wants to to sign a document with the wrong date. The document says my refund is null if not submitted within seven days!! To make matters worse, the amount of damage was beyond unreal along with missing items. THey want to reimburse a low ball figure. I have been put on hold for hours-I do not want to speak with someone who talks over me. The origin office laughed when I told them I had missing items!! this company is deceitful. I was quoted $135 an hour. I was never told about fuel or travel charge. I was moving 15 mins away. They charged me $135 for travel and $100 fo gas. I was never told this and I informed the rep that's not what I was quoted but it was too late they were holding my things hostage. Also I was charged for tape and I literally had my own and a moving box I never asked for one I had moving bags. Isaiah, Capone, and Daneda were total rockstars! We had a ton of stuff (most of it heavy) and they loaded and unloaded it up a flight of stairs all under 5 hours without slowing down. I truly have no clue how they did it! If anyone is worried about your move costing too much it is ABSOLUTELY money well spent with these guys. I have over 500 books (and almost all of my boxes, not just books, were heavy) and they carried every. single. box. The pricing is ridiculous things on the bill that was not explained during quote. They charge you $100 and more for gas plus traveling fee which was quoted at one price and then was overcharged during move. I hired them to do a job on 7/31 and I would not recommend them at all!! What should have been a 4 hour job turned into 7. I already had the apartment 99% packed and I had my 3 adult children helping me move items using their cars. And when I say my kids loaded and moved so much stuff that literally the movers had to move mainly furniture (and not a lot of it!)! And boxes. One of them (Corey) was only on the job 2 weeks and did his best. The other person (I can't remember his name ) was on the phone the whole time, took his time doing things to the point my kids did more. I in good conscience could not recommend them to my cousin or to my old complex when I turned in my keys. It's a shame though because the people I spoke with on the phone to reserve were great. Garbage moving company!!! They'll quote you one thing, and then AFTER they load your things and get you to your next destination they'll charge you HUNDREDS MORE! We were quoted $169 per hour charged quarterly (15 minute intervals). They worked exactly 2.5 hours so I'm expecting a bill of $400'ish. HA! Try 1,200!!! I about crapped myself! As imagined I was completely flabbergasted and above all confused. As was my husband who verbally asked the driver why so much for literally 2.5 hours and he flew off the handle! Cussed my husband up and down and slammed the truck door in his face. I was on the drivers cell phone speaking with their "boss" who was attempting to explain their outrageous pricing and at the end of it all said "well $700 is the best I can do for you". We had to pay it or they wouldn't unload our things. Oh, and while they're unloading our things the mouthy employee garnished his knife and proceeded to show it to his coworkers all while laughing and what I can only assume making snide comments. My 6 year old son was in absolute HYSTERICS. Scared to death the man was or would try to stab my husband. Mr. Mouth also recorded us in the window of our new home and himself/coworkers unloading on his personal cell phone. I was too scared to say anything at this point and just wanted them gone. I plan to dispute the charges today now that it's Monday plus I have a digital copy of my quote to provide my bank with too. So people please don't use this company, and if you do DO YOUR THROUGH RESEARCH 100x OVER. I asked every single question at least three times while booking and the quote itself even says no hidden fees but clearly they don't want you to find out until it's too late. Even one of the employees came inside the house to apologize and tell us this isn't the first time this has happened and the "boss" does nothing to rectify or prevent from happening in the future. Like the other reviews on here, we also had a horrendous experience last month with All My Sons. I spent a long time on the phone with an associate detailing each room and how many things we had. They sent 1 truck and 4 guys. They were 2+ hours late getting to our house. I got mixed answers on why that was so those felt like lies. Once they started, the movers were extremely slow. For the first few hours, it seemed that only 1 guy was in our house wrapping furniture while the other 3 hung out at the truck in the driveway. They were unable to even fit half of our belongings in the truck after 6 hours. It was a 2100 sq foot house. It wasn't some monstrosity by any means. No resolution for not being able to move our entire house. The guys damaged multiple doorways and drywall. I tried to call All My Sons when we were moving to the next location. No one answered after it rang for 15 minutes. I called back. Still no answer. The guys moved our stuff into the new house. When asked to put things in certain rooms, they would just drop it practically in the doorway. I watched one guy drop my antique dresser in the foyer THREE TIMES. Yup, you guessed it. Its destroyed and broken in about 5 places. An antique that was in perfect condition. They banged up walls and broke other items. Boxes that said "FRAGILE" all over it, just tossed around. We lost a few pieces to bed frames and another antique kitchen chair base that was in the family for 75 years. Just gone. This move took ALL DAY. About 11 am to 9 pm. The movers left all their trash in our yard. Drink bottles, paper towels, literal trash - all over our yard and in the street. I have hired movers many times, nothing comes close to how awful this experience was. I called and spoke to a manager the following week. I was suppose to be sent a review link and information to file a claim. Never received anything. I will have to call back up there and argue that we should get our money back and be paid for damages. I would give them a zero if I could. I work for a 188 apartment community and have never seen such terrible customer service and flat out taking advantage of seniors and disabled veterans. Be warned if you pay them by the hour because I have witnessed many movers and this is totally unacceptable. Getting paid by the hour and they have been sitting here for over an hour and haven't even opened the back of the truck to start unloading. Worse service, scratched a lot of our furniture, broke a leg off a dresser,dented furniture lots of it, took some bed parts back to the warehouse and it took a week to get them back.. HAd the nerve to say they took tips in cash only...several of them stayed on there cell phones most of the time...I moved from a mobile home which had nothing to pack, just move furniture. 2 bedroom suites, 1 couch 2 chairs, washer and dryer ,end tables, kitchen table and sideboard and a china cabinet, most were scratched severely....It took them a long time..We ended up pay around 1800.00...beware this company.... read more

I'd discussed 2 days prior to the move of a small concrete table and 3 benches. The move was 1 block literally. The price discussed was $149.00. In all the company sent a large moving truck ( to justify the theft )and 4 men. You would had thought I was moving my whole house.To my surprise. My fee increased to $500.00 and the men spent 30-45min in all. I called "All My Sons" and the bottom line is the inflated cost will not be returned. Not even by their own policy of basic time frame of 2hours. Long story short I feel robbed. This set was given to me, to move it one block cost me a total of $500 plus that I did not agree to. The quote was $189 an hour but after they all all of their extra charges it's actually $330 an hour. A 5 hour move to a storage unit 1.5 miles from my home cost me $1650. I wish I read all the terrible reviews before I booked with them. An absolute horrible waste of your time and unreliable. I booked a Saturday morning move on a Monday. Saturday morning 15 minutes before, they told me their truck broke down and all other trucks were being used. That they would schedule me for Sunday morning at the same time with either one of their other trucks or get a truck from Penske to complete the move. I was annoyed but figured I could move me smaller and fragile items Saturday and plan to finish the larger items Sunday, no big deal. Well Sunday rolls along, I arrive at my storage until at 8 am (they can arrive anytime between 8-9 am but will call 30 mins before. By 8:50 am there is no call. I called them and they tell me that they were about to call me and that Penske does not have a truck for them to use today so we would have to plan for Monday am. They did not bother to call me earlier as I was waiting for them. Then I read the horrible reviews. I canceled and am demanding my deposit back. Will check with the bank tomorrow. How do you lose 2 floor lamps, pillows from a loveseat, and 3 boxes? They followed me to Point B and never stopped... they didn't fall off the truck ...so where in the heck are they. I mean don't you check the truck when you're finished and wouldn't you see those items still on the truck!!!! And, try to call them about itworst company ever. I'll be honest when I spoke to Bryce I was very impressed by him he was very straightforward and answering my questions and I enjoyed talking with him and dealing with him. It was even an added bonus that he had previously lived in the building I was moving into so I felt like I was getting an expert opinion and that I would have movers who knew exactly what they were to respect with the move seeing that someone from their company had in fact lived in this building I did not get that after checking in with me 3 days before the move I never heard from Bryce again which is extremely disappointing being that he was the biggest reason I hired this company I wish I had read these reviews first. The day of the move I got a phone call letting me know that due to the storm they were in fact going to be running earlier than expected which would normally be great except for the fact that as I had previously told them I wouldn't have my keys until 10:00 or 10:30 to be able to get into the apartment so them being there early did me no good because I'd be paying them to sit around and wait once everything was packed in the truck they showed up at the agreed upon time and had to deal with my father because I was at the appointment getting my keys they moved my storage unit efficiently though as my dad told me they did drop a few things and as I found out later those things that were dropped were broken when they got to the house they refused to move most of the belongings other than a few pieces of furniture and some of the boxes they did not move everything so my father ended up having to take his truck back and pick up the items that they refused to pick up due to the house being a mess which I had previously warned them about and made sure would not be an issue but suddenly it became an issue moving forward to getting to the apartment they got here in decent enough time again it was storming so to be expected it would run a little slower than usual once they got here they presented me with my bill which ended up being more than double what I had been expecting because of the conversation with Bryce we paid it and they proceeded to start unloading my belongings into the vestibule downstairs to Stage everything to bring it upstairs I had previously had them pick up the items in a specific order so that my items would end up in my house in a specific order so that it would make unpacking easier it did not end up this way they packed everything into my apartment willy-nilly they stacked things on top of things that shouldn't have had things stacked on them and they put my furniture on its sides and left it there for me to have to deal with in rooms that it didn't belong in needless to say I have a broken antique Cedar Chest that they dropped. I have a broken table that the base is broken and the drawer does not longer fit properly because it was dropped and set on its side with things inside of it that got broken I have artwork that frames and glass were broken in even though they were packed carefully clearly they had things sitting on them that shouldn't have been and they dropped one of my boxes of cookbooks in a puddle and got everything in the Box soaking wet and damaged two of my signed cookbooks the spines are completely destroyed and the pages are crinkled and those are irreplaceable. I regret going with this company being that they did not take care of my belongings the way I expected. For hiring professional movers at $150 an hour I expected a lot more than I got. read more

I needed to move from my 4 bdrm.home into storage. They were hours late getting to me & the workers were very attitudal. I had majority of everything that needed to go to storage sitting in my front room labeled & ready to go. I was quoted the wrong price, the worker yelled @ me that the invoice had to be signed before they could get started. I agreed to sign & said I would reach out to management later. They tried to do a start time earlier than when they actually started. They messed around & took over almost 5 hours to get my things in storage. They dropped multiple boxes of fragile items along with using a gold vase to hold the elevator open, which I told them to please stop using. They were rude & unprofessional & they thru my items into storage & told me they'd been very cooperative w/me. When I reached out to a mgr., they told me something was left on the truck. I asked the mgr.if he could bring it to the storage so he could see how they put my things in. After a month of calling & waiting I finally got my item. I have to move in a few weeks & I wouldn't recommend them to move my dog house!! I have pics of how they left things. I have no problem spending money on quality services but when u do a bad job, it definitely needs to be reflected. I wish I could post the pics. HORRIBLE company!!! read more

So, my recommendation to everyone reading this review is to keep away from All My Sons Moving in Norfolk Va. I moved a small 2 bedroom condo locally 27 miles and it cost me $2700. But theres more to this. It started nicely and the manager Bryce was reassuring and friendly. Then, the day of the move, I got to see his true colors. By the end of the over 8+ long hours later, I got screwed. So, to begin, I had damaged items, some of which were not brought to my attention and I had to discover it for myself. Second, furniture which I paid time for to be disassembled and reassembled was reassembled poorly. I have screws, nuts and bolts falling out and I don't have the proper tools and physical ability to reassemble. The bed is loosely assembled and I am concerned it is damaging my bed. They spend billable time wrapping items to protect and also charge you for that material. You pay for the travel to and from the office and travel from old house to new house all at the billable rate ($219/hr) so you wind up paying a lot for nothing in return. By the end of the day, I was literally carrying boxes in from the outside to avoid overtime rate. So I paid $2700 to move things myself, have my items damaged, my furniture reassembled incorrectly, paid full rate for time they drive the truck which was a total of around 3 hours ($650) and had items broken and damaged including a headboard for a new bedroom set just recently purchased. They make you pay upon arrival to your new home or else they don't unload your furniture. They sprung the price on me and I had no recourse, it feels like they hold all of your worldly possessions ransom until you pay. What is the t a that point? Bryce, the smooth speaking manager who was so nice and helpful at the start wasn't helpful anymore. He promised to call me upon his return from some time of and never called. I called him and left a message for a call back which didn't happen. I called again a week later and got him only for him to divert me to customer service. Long story short, my experience was awful. I recommend any other moving company than All My Sons in Norfolk Va and don't buy Bryce's smiles and friendliness over the phone. It's just part of the act to get you hooked. I am filing a claim with them to make things right. If this doesn't go well, I will reach out to the department of consumer affairs and the state attorney general next. I think they should be made aware. My poor review on another site prompted an immediate response with empty words of trying to fix things but it didn't prompt them to reach out to me directly to fix it. That says a lot. read more
