Went there with my cousin, and I was introduced to Henry. He's super friendly, professional, and just an overall great guy. Awesome shop that does the safety course and the permitting for the CCW course. Along with servicing and maintenance, your firearm it's just an awesome one-stop shop kind of place. I was at the ranger earlier, and my sights were completely off, as I was told the person who installed them filed down the front sight too much, where there's not enough tension. There wasn't really anything Henry or any gunsmith could do to permanently fix it, but he did fix enough to get me through my CCW course. Henry is so awesome. Now days, customer service is key. I like supporting brick and mortar places because it's one of those things about having that personal touch. Prime Sports is one of those I think I'll continue to go to. Henry is super helpful and even helps you even after you purchased something through him. His prices are definitely fair! He also thoroughly explains things to you before you pull the trigger. No pun intended. It's not one of those shops where they just want you to buy something and hurry out the store. Parking is sparse and can be kind of a pain especially during lunch or early dinner. Located on Nimitz and it's convenient since after you shop you can always grab a bite to eat. Thanks Henry. Selection here was small but still pretty decent. They seemed to have a lot of items in stock, pricing was on the high side for ammo. They carry a lot of unique stuff that you can't really find at other shops. The store itself is very messy, things are all over the place. The pistols were in a safe, no case, no price tags on them. I ended up picking up a gun which i found 150 less at hgs a week later. I can only assume the guys here just try and tell you whatever price they think they can squeeze outta you. I looked at a receiver, got price, called next day to make sure it was still there and price was what he told me, came back with my permit and it was 100 more. This is like the used car dealership of oahu gun shops. Although staff is friendly and helpful, i would not buy from here again. read more

Recently took my handgun safety course with Prime Sports per recommendation of a friend. I'm extremely glad i took it with them. It was very informative and I learned a lot. Not to mention they let me shoot a good variety of their guns in all different calibers. They are very knowledgable and extremely friendly. Regardless if i decided to purchase with them or not, Henry was willing to give his opinions and experiences while giving the best option and alternatives for the budget. Went to this gun shop last year for the first time. Met Henry the owner to order a firearm online. Ordered a 1911 for $1400 from Springfield Armory and been told it would take a month for it to come in and he would give me a call when it arrives. Waited more than a month so I called the shop and asked him if it came in and he told me it was a back order so he will call me when it comes in. Two weeks go by and still no call. I call him again and he says it came in and we're going to inspect it and get the serial number and I will call you when we are done with that process. Now it's the middle of May and still no call so I decide to go to the shop hoping it's there instead Henry says that there's a crack on the grip and he was going to have it repaired. At this I knew he was giving another poor excuse so I'll still be patient. Now it's July and I had enough. Went down to the shop again for a refund. I hand him my receipt and he looks at it like he didn't see it before. He tells me that I will get my refund in the mail in 2 weeks since I paid with debit. Sure enough Henry lies to me again because I did not get my Fourteen hundred dollars back. Now it's around August and I'm calling so now I get no answer. Even emailed him regarding my situation and got no reply. I learned that the owner really did me dirty and ripped me off. That money he took from me was my whole tax return and money a saved up aside for nothing. read more

Went in to pick up some merchandise, and I can honestly say it was the cheapest non-sale prices I've seen on island (O'ahu) in a very long time. Not only are prices low, but service was amazing from the staff; they will definitely do the best they can to accommodate your needs. Asked about availability for a future purchase, and Henry said he will do his best to accommodate my request and even let me know if/when it will be in stock. Customer service is on point very good guys behind the counter there. Wife and I stopped by just curious on what kind of hand gun we wanted for home defense. Guys there were very friendly in answering our questions, suggesting arms and even letting us hold and inspect which gun would be good for us. Plan on going to them for their handgun class recognized by hpd for applying for a permit and for buy our hand guns. People here made me want to support them by spending money there. read more

This might just be my favorite gun store. Prime Sports on Nimitz near Eagle Cafe, is the place you want to buy a gun from. The owner Henry, has to be the nicest guy in the gun world. He is always friendly, never pushy, very welcoming to new customers. That's important. Henry can get you almost anything you can think of , at a very fair price. I've bought things from him that have beaten other gun shops by a mile. Usually even beating online prices on things. They had hardly any ammo on the shelf, very little inventory other than that, not to mention I walked in and there were four guys standing around (appeared to be friends) and not one of them could say a simple "hey how's it going?" I wouldn't call this an outdoor gear store. They are a super small gun/tactical shop with very sparse inventory. I was pretty underwhelmed when I first checked the place out, but ended up returning to buy a stainless steel food container (the price was better than Amazon BTW...which was great). Ironically, this and some insulated water bottles were among the only non-tactical item they sold. I'm not sure what gun services they provide, but speaking on just the tactical gear side, this place is just too small to really stock any significant amount of gear. I wouldn't dissuade anyone from going here, but for me, they didn't sell anything that made them stand out or seem cool. I think Oahu is in need of a high end tactical gear shop, and this place leaves much to be desired. read more

Henry is a really great guy to deal with and has great prices that will probably beat most places. Don't get me wrong they don't have the biggest inventory but what they lack in that they make it up tenfold in service and prices. Used this business to acquire a firearm purchased online. Henry and his staff are extremely helpful and friendly and offer FFL rates that beat the competition. It's a small shop with less products that the LGS that have been around for years but a nice alternative to the others.
