Our ribeye (cote de beouf) was incredible, cooked perfectly as ordered with a great char. Nice wine list with good options by the glass, 500 ML carafe or bottle. The only downside was a very, very limited number of starter options. Also nice to get out of the tourist area but stilll only a 10 min walk from the city centre. We started with "fall off the bone" ribs and the Hallumi - (squeaky cheese - wish I could find this here in SoCal... if anyone reading this knows a place... please let me know!) She told me that while this was not the most tender steak she has had, the flavour was outstanding. Our friend had a burger - it too was excellent. We started the meal with calamari. It was very good. We ended the meal with Crème Brulee. It too was very, very good. The price of the meal was reasonable as well. I can't recommend this place more highly. The only warning, is if you are 6'3" like I am, you need to watch your head. There are some low wooden beams that are several hundred years old that will put a dent in your head if you are not careful.

The salad buffet were served by staff (due to the 'Rona), and at times had the queue to get served was right to the back of the restaurant. The server was giving out very small amounts meaning many people kept going back up several times, which seemed counterproductive. The salad bar had lots of choice though and was well tasty. One of the meat men had a right attitude when serving and you felt you were inconveniencing him getting served. Quite a while between meat options coming up. Desserts tasty but clearly bulk bought type, and a bit stiff. Was okay, but quite underwhelming and won't be returning.

I don't think you can go wrong with almost anything on the menu. Everything we had was delicious, and you can tell the chef's really know how and understand how to cook and flavor meat to perfection. The most surprising item though, is the White Chocolate Cheesecake. It is served out of a dish, tiramisu style, and is one of the best desserts I have had in a while. It was blinking chilly in there, they had plugged in heaters, and did turn the little white hot air heater towards me, so I did warm up, but I kept my coat on, and you could see others were cold too. I had crispy chicken which was hot and fresh with a nice flavoured honey mustard dip with it. Mains: shame. I had the veggie burger and it was cold, like fridge cold. It was missing the tomato salsa and onion ring it normally comes with, and was a cold stodge in a bun. So I ended up just eating my chips which were lovely to be fair. The hubster has the ribs and were nice enough. Mac and cheese was average. They did take the burger off of the bill and apologised re the burger. But it's a shame as it ruined the meal really. I was a bit skeptic at first just based on the fact the waitress was an older lady and there was some confusion when we asked some questions regarding the menu, but I was wrong. My friend and I shared the steak selection (£48 for 2 people) which came with Sirloin, Fillet and Ribeye. 2 steaks of each per person. We then ordered 3 side dishes to share between us - dauphinois potato, triple cooked chips and a portion of asparagus. All of it was cooked to perfection. The knife went through the steak like butter, the chips were delicious and the potatoes so tasty and the asparagus was perfect. I was getting quite full, with 3 steaks to eat, but I didn't want the meal to end, it was so delicious. The portion of chips was huge! We couldn't finish them. The potatoes were just addictive, I would happily have eaten it all over again. The restaurant soon filled up and I was actually really surprised at how busy it got. I naively didn't think that people frequented these local restaurants too often, but the place was really busy and according to our waitress, that was a quiet night! If only I could afford to eat here all the time! With it being a steak restaurant the price is more expensive than say going out for an Italian meal, but it was most definitely worth it. Four of us went and everyone said how good it was, I can't remember the last time we all agreed (my brother is the difficult one, not me).
