We had never been here so we did not have any preconceived notions based on what this restaurant used to be. The oysters Rockefeller were some of the best that we have had. I got the steak salad and the steak was cooked perfectly with a little char on the outside and still pink in the middle. My wife had French onion soup which she said was really good and the Moscow mule was on point. Austin was our server and he was great. We were staying on property and decided to stay close to the condo and tried this place out since they had a band. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The band was outside so we asked to sit out there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The hostesses said there was only one server out there and it would be a ten minute wait before he could get to us. We went back and forth saying we would sit inside and go outside once we were done eating for the band. Somehow there was some confusion and they walked us outside which was fine by us. Didn't have to wait ten minutes for the server to greet us. He did a great job managing the outside by himself. If we weren't told he was by himself we would have never known. Food was excellent. We got rare steaks and they were cooked perfectly. Kids got a burger and mac and cheese. That ambiance might work for an airport, but not a "high end dining establishment" with "Prime" in its name![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not sure who is writing these reviews, but u can't just double ur price and call urself "Prime," then sell a bad cut of meat and expect success. Not even in Dadeville, AL. We want this place to succeed; but , please, close it down, finish the construction, teach the servers some basics, teach the bartender how to make a martini (mine was warm with no olives) and have a grand opening. We had limited expectations of Prime and, well, it was very meh. First off, the waiter was nice. However, we asked him about the specials posted on Facebook... and he said there were no specials. After we got our food we heard the person at the table next to us order said special. They later ate said special. I asked the waiter what happened... and he said no one told him there was a special. Even when asked about it, he had no desire to find out if there was a special. Bad start. Overall, the service was OK, better than most on Lake Martin. The food was... ok? Cheese sticks 1/5 - Definitely frozen which would have been fine but they were still cold in the middle. Gross. Mushrooms 4/5 - Well cooked and tasty. Bread 3/5 We had to wait 10 minutes after getting the bread to get plates. When they finally brought out the plates, they only had 4 (5 of us) and they were actually coffee cup saucers. Really odd. They were out of wine that we tried to order. Side salad was good despite having an onion that was sliced way too thick. Potato 3/5 - It is really hard to mess up a loaded backed potato, but it was dry and I suspect sitting around for a few hours in the foil. Ribeye Steak - 2/5 To be very clear, these steaks are not Prime grade. They may be Choice but I am not certain they are of that quality. It was fine, lacked flavor (needed salt and pepper). Was a little overcooked but still cooked ok, but it really needed salt and pepper on the grill, not after. Filet - 1/5 - The Demi glaze was foul tasting. Not good at all. Would not order again. Prime is newer, but the quality and execution is just not there. They were not overly busy (no wait on a Friday night w/ plenty of open tables) and still could not deliver on very basic front and back of house items. The quality of the food was OK but the execution was worse. I was only expecting an average steak, but I was underwhelmed. Hopefully they can figure it out, but based on the history, I am not certain they will. My advice would be to eat before you come and enjoy some drinks outside with live music. read more

What an amazing turnaround. I had eaten at Prime on the opening weekend and I had no intention of returning until they hired a chef. They didn't just hire a chef, they hired an amazing chef! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I walked into the construction zone of a restaurant on a Thursday night and it was packed. I feel like seeing a full parking lot or a full restaurant is always a sign that the food and service are going to be great but I've never seen a restaurant that's in the midst of a remodel and also packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]That just goes to show if the food and service are great customers don't care what the building looks like.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm heading back tonight so twice in one week and I'm guessing that Prime will be a regular few times a week meal for me from now on. Can't wait for them to finish up the buildout and open the sports bar side, that's going to be a great addition to the community. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner didn't do things in the same order as most would have but it seems the end result will be a fine dining establishment and a more casual place, both with amazing food, and fantastic atmosphere and service right here in the neighborhood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you've not tried it yet you should. Don't listen to that other comment. I don't know why they were so pessimistic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came here tonight for my birthday with my whole family and OH MY it was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have a wisdom tooth coming in that is very painful and was afraid to eat the steak. But the steak was VERY tender and juicy and delicioso. I heard good things about the chophouse steak, sirloin, and shrimp as well. I got the 12oz. Ribeye and I can say it was probably one of the best ribeyes I've ever had. I also had a whiskey sour. And they gave me a molten lava cake on the house for my birthday. The waiter, Chad, was very professional and efficient taking orders. He did accidentally left off a crab claws order off the ticket but that's ok because he took it off the ticket and gave us a free dessert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was also live music and my daughter loved playing outside on the lawn and listening to the music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will DEFINITELY be coming back. I will say I used to work at coppers (the restaurant before prime) and it had a lot wrong. It's good to see a new business open and become one of my new favorites.
