I had an excellent experience at the Primex laboratory on 1510 S. Central Ave. in Glendale this facility is clean. The staff is professional and friendly. Amy specially is wonderful. She's very skilled at drawing blood I have very hard veins and she is so gentle and patient she made the whole process quick and comfortable I highly recommend this Lab and especially Amy for anyone who is very hard to stick like myself. I took my older sister to their lab in Glendale six months a go and i was told that their restroom has a problem and we need to use the public restroom at the end of the hall , same thing that she told my other sister 30days before that , while my sister went to restroom i asked her about the problem and i told her that my other sister was there a month before that and they had the same problem , she said the building management have not fixed the problem, and the she start the complains that what the patients do how they make a mess and she has to clean it , i was about to tell l her , hey lady i don't want to listen to your complaints any more , if you have to clean the restroom that means its part of your job , i My doctor yesterday gave me and my sister papers for blood test yesterday and said go to Suit 440 for the tests , we went there again and she said i need the urine test first ( ridiculous thing to ask ) and then she handed us the container for urine and the public restrooms' key , I told her why are you handing me the public restroom key ? and her answer was our restroom is not in a working condition , I told her we are not going to do the tests in your lab any more and we left , while we were walking out she told me in a rudely manner , you can go to LabCorp downstairs!!. shame on them that can not provide restroom for their patients , every time i went there i saw no other patients , low traffic lab and can not provide, really shame. I will never use their lab again , I went to LabCorp and they ere professional , i used the LabCorp and quest diagnostic many many times and never had a problem with them. read more

This lab is a complete scam; avoid it if you can. And if you can't avoid them, make sure you double check every bill against your EOB and patient responsibility and take notes of every single dollar you pay them. They sent me a bill 2 years later that was nearly $500 in excess of my patient responsibility. Sure enough, when I called my insurance company, they told me I am not to pay more than $120. I called the lab back and they very quickly offered to "reduce" my bill to, coincidentally, the exact amount of my patient responsibility. They're counting on people not checking into these things and just paying the overages. read more

I have never step foot into their establishment but they're billing me over $2,000 for lab work that I was promised was FREE at the 2025 LA Fitness expo for being a First responder who worked the pacific palisades and Eaton fires. There is definitely something VERY WRONG with this "lab." I've NEVER been there and yet a bill came in the mail for almost $900. They say it's from this year but I haven't had labs done since last year and I only see my primary for that. I wish I read the reviews on here before going to this lab. I paid my "very expensive" bill upfront and today, 3 months later, I received another bill from this lab stating I have to pay a different amount for my "services". I called their 1800 number and could not get in touch with anyone because the automated robot just hung up on me. Cool. I'll have to drive there and speak to them in person. This is absurd. If they are going to send an extra bill to your house, 3 months later, at least let the patient know and make them aware. Do not get scammed by this lab. Go somewhere else. read more

I think this company probably tried to pull a scam on me, and if so, they are no doubt doing it to others. They did not bill my insurance company, then waited a few months before sending me a bill that states "PER COVID 19 GUIDELINES THIS TEST PERFORMED IS NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY THEREFORE IT IS PATIENTS RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE REMIT BALANCE DUE FOR LAB SERVICES. I called and asked why they had not submitted the bill to my insurance and asked them who determines what is medically necessary? My doctor thought the tests were necessary. The customer service guy says, "Oh, yes, we will submit the bill to your insurance". Insurance paid IMMEDIATELY and guess what? Primex only got $13.37 for their services, but had tried to get me to pay almost 10X as much by: 1) Not submitting the bill to my insurance. 2) Waiting a few months to send the bill so maybe I'd assume it had been run through my insurance. 3) Printing a bunch of nonsense on the bill FALSELY claiming that these tests were not medically necessary! So...I'm guessing they might be doing this with any tests that could be COVID related to get people to think that the tests aren't covered and therefore collect much more $$$ than insurance would allow. I will ask my doctor to use a different lab for my tests from now on. read more

Run away from this lab. They charge to provide a patients OWN lab work. I should not be required to go through a provider I no longer see to get my labs. Get up to speed Primex. Labcorp and quest both have patient portals for easy access by patients. be sure, and not to have a TGFB-1 by this lab. they do not know how to process appropriately a TGFB one and it was wildly wrong. makes me question all other lab work from this organization. read more

I needed a blood test that required fasting and so I picked a close Primex lab location to my house. When I looked up the location, the reviews were not that great but I decided to go anyway because it was such a convenient location. When you drive through, it's in an industrial area, not what you would typically expect, but you just pull in all the way to the back of the parking lot. As soon as I walked in around 8:30 in the morning, I was the only one in the office. I was greeted by Tanya who was very pleasant, made awesome small talk and greeted me in a very warm and courteous way. She got my insurance card and ID. Not even three minutes later she called me to one of the rooms to draw my blood. We continued to have very pleasant, friendly conversation. She was confident and skilled and performed my blood draw very well, we had no issues. And I was out the door. The entire process took less than 10 minutes. I was extremely pleased with the level of service I received from Tanya and I will definitely be coming back here if I need my blood drawn. read more

I can not recommend this lab. I had a doctor that had a lab tech in his office with this company. He ordered a number of tests that should have been covered by my insurance. One of the tests was not covered. The lab did not tell me before doing the test. The tech had me sign the same form I sign every time I get blood drawn. I was unaware that in the small print they have a self protection clause against insurance companies not covering certain kinds of tests. I guess I should bring my lawyer to my doctor's appointment from now on to interpret the fine print on the back of the lab slip. A few months later I started getting huge bills from this company. I tried for over 6 months to resolve this with them and come to some kind of settlement. Every call the billing people were very rude and condescending. I finally gave up. Now they have sold my information to a bill collection agency. The agency is just as rude and highly aggressive. They mail me a bill 2 to 3 times a month and leave messages for me 2 to 3 times a week. I have written several letters and emails trying to explain to them that this should have either been covered by insurance or the costs fully disclosed prior to the test so I could have made a informed decision about my budget and ability to pay. Had I known the cost, my decision would have been to not have the test done. In 10 years of dealing with my insurance company they have never denied a claim. So I have to imagine it is the staff at Primex lab that can't seem to communicate with their patients about costs of tests, bill correctly or be polite. This is the most fraudulent company ever!!!! They should be on American GREED!!! For the past 5 years or so I have been using them for blood work recommended by my natural path. Billing has always been 300 to 350 ish...no problem. Several.months ago I went in for the same blood work and they sent me a bill of 2155.60. Omg!!! I called and emailed several times with no help. Finally today I speak to a woman who is completely fibbing to me. She asked me how I normally pay...I said HSA credit card or cash. So she Bullied over me and said since in normally pay cash is why it's so high. I told her that is not what I said...I don't normally pay cash. Then she said we'll you decided to submitt to insurance....so that's why.... I said NO. Submitting to insurance is irrelevant to the fraudulent amount of money PRIMEX is charging. She said basically they can charge what they want and it's my fault for Submitting to insurance. I Submitting to insurance assuming my bill was the normal bill of 350ish... All lies...total Freud...total Greed ..the company is counting on people not wanting to put up a fight and collecting money that they steal. And yes it is stealing!!! Reported this company for fraudulent billing. Got a bill in the mail for almost $900 for bloodwork. Immediately contacted my insurance, which they verified the visit was completely covered, so I should not have received a bill at all. When I tried to contact the company, the number printed on the bill was no longer in service. The insurance company also tried to give them a call, and got the same message. Primex continuously sent me the same bill for over a year, and then when I got notification that they sent it to collections, I pulled all of the claims to show that my insurance covered the costs entirely. As I was pulling the claim documentation from my insurance's portal for evidence against the charges, I noticed the lab had tacked on a few extra "unverifiable" services to make it seem like those were also rendered the day I received bloodwork. This was extremely suspicious, because my insurance denied those claims due to insufficient information regarding what the services were. When I submitted my evidence to the collection agency to dispute the debt, they denied my evidence, and sent back some weird bill that had several lines of "services" completely blacked out so I could not see what the description of the charges were. This company has already been involved in lawsuits for fraudulent billing and other suspicious activity in the recent past, and I honestly do not understand why they are still able to operate. read more

I get blood work done all the time and have never had an issue like today... she poked both my arms and couldn't get the blood to flow properly.. she kept saying I'm moving which I wasn't and kept pushing the needle in aggressively. This place is a scam. I am speaking specifically about both Simi locations. We went to have my wife do an immigration blood test assigned by the doctor. So we are forced to use this company. The doctor even told us it is an $81 flat fee and don't let them charge more. Of course we get there and they say it will be $223, $123 for blood and a separate charge for urine which is $100. We told them it is supposed to be $81 only and she argued that is the cost and said it's a special cost for this doctor. Special cost really?? So we went to the other location. They did say it was $81 for the blood but urine will still be $100. (She actually called the lady at the other office and asked why she wrote $123 and then began speaking a different language to her) We argued for awhile and called the doctor to reconfirm $81 for everything and she finally realized that the urine test is part of the blood test.(it all falls under the immigration blood test) How is this information she does not know?? Workers at both office tried to charge for a different test that was already included. This is sad that company can take advantage of people who are going through an immigration process that is already expensive. Companies like this should not be in business. read more

The woman who took my blood did a wonderful job. It usually takes eight tries or so to get my blood. This makes blood draws very difficult for me. But she was very sensitive, professional and got it in one try! When there was a little snafu with the billing, they resolved it right away. The billing agent was efficient and kind. She made it clear that they wanted to help their clients during the coronavirus crisis. read more

When asked wwhy they are so expesnive the response was "we are not other labs and can charge what we want" I just got a bill for 1553.00 for bloodwork done over a year ago - the actual bill should have been around 300.00. THIS BUSINESS HAS AN "F" RATING FROM THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!! We visited Primex twice in early June 2011 for lab tests for my newborn son. Since we do not have health insurance, we were quoted a cash price for each visit by the phlebotomist, which we paid in full, and have the receipts to prove it. We have now been harassed by Primex for over six months regarding those visits. Primex has made a long series of harassing phone calls and mailings trying to collect payment (which was already paid in full). Primex claimed that they performed additional lab tests that were ordered by our doctor, which we had not yet paid for. We then provided a copy of the doctors orders, which clearly showed that the additional tests were NOT ordered by our doctor. If additional tests were performed by Primex, it was their mistake, and not our financial responsibility. Next, Primex claimed that we had not paid for the two visits to their lab. So we faxed the receipts for each visit. These receipts clearly show that payment was made, with ZERO BALANCE DUE. Primex then had the gall to state that they did not show a record of payment for the first visit, and asked if they could charge our credit card again... OF COURSE NOT! At this point I informed their billing manager (Linda) that Primex was in possession of our receipts and doctor's orders, and further contact from them regarding this compounds their harassment... So we today received yet another bill from Primex in the mail. It includes charges for the aforementioned extra labs that WERE NOT ordered by our pediatrician. It also states that they will send the bill to collections and report it on our credit score. This is in clear violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We have filed complaints against Primex with the California Department of Consumer Affairs, the Better Business Bureau, and I am now posting this review on Yelp. Hopefully it will inform future potential uninsured patients to AVOID THIS LAB. read more

Watch out this company will send you to collections when your bill is paid. I should have known something like this could happen after I got 3 different bills for one lab visit. When I checked in and gave the lady my insurance card, NOTHING was said regarding they DON'T take my insurance any more. Shame on me for not checking but how obnoxious. I get stuck with the hundreds of dollars in bills for ONE visit. Months and months and months later I get a letter from a collection agency saying you owe more money. WHAT I know I paid all of these. I do make mistakes, but it would have been nice for PRIMEX to send a letter saying pay this or we send you to collections. NOPE. Never again will I use this lab and I'm making it a point to tell all my friends and family and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Very bad billing and customer service. read more
