My wife and I used to work at an iconic eatery in phila called Taylor's country store and both of us looked at each other and said we get the same vibes. The decorations were just what you'd hope for in an eclectic little restaurant. Located on the edge of the villas maybe 15 mins from wildwood and cape May if you're visiting down the beach or shore don't sleep on this place. Now for the food we were looking for lunch we have our go to spots but wanted to change it up and I'm so glad my wife chose TBD. Has a great menu with something for everyone. I got a hot roast beef because it's one of my favorites. Side of fries hand cut. First the sandwich was everything I had hoped for I go a couple Roast beef sand places but this has shot to the top. Gravy on the side is how it came and it was just what the sand was meant for ciabatta roll soaked it up perfectly, no prob I'm not a fan of the disintegrating gravy sand I like to control the gravy. Roast beef was thick but not out of control thick,didn't need sharks teeth to bite through it. And not any gristle which definitely mattersHorseradish on the side a little bite not your make your nose run hot but hot enough. Hand cut fries delicious crispy hot and a perfect pairing to dip in the gravy. The pickle was exactly how you want a deli pickle to be crunchy fresh and sharp flavored w real dill I will say it again perfect . My wife had the burger it was huge tasty I know because I had half the right amount of everything. She chose the fresh homemade chips they were marvelous too I know because I grudgingly gave up a few fries to have some chips. It was big enough she said she would be skipping dinner. Anyway it's the kind of place you leave saying I can't wait to go back and try the other choices because you know they will all be made with culinary care and taste great. We loved that the whole room was lit using black lights and enjoyed the small animatronics. After checking out the decorations, we still had quite a while to go before our table was ready. I think it might've been 45 minutes after our set reservation time? Aside from that, the rest of the night went without a hitch. For dinner, we got chicken francese and flounder francese. Both were really delicious and cooked perfectly. There was a generous serving of both the main dish as well as the pasta and other sides. I also ordered an Apple Pie martini and loved it. The rim was coated in sugar instead of salt which I thought was neat. It really did taste like apple cider. When asking for the dessert menu, we were pleasantly surprised when our server came out with a plate of desserts. She explained what each one was and I liked being able to see exactly what we were getting. They could use a little more variety in the dessert department though, I don't recall seeing or hearing anything other than cakes. We did end up ultimately choosing the white and dark chocolate cake which was the perfect amount of sweet. We were very pleased with our dinner and the Halloween experience. The Haunted Dining experience was fun, but I honestly wouldn't say it's a "must do". I'll definitely be back when they open for the next season, they seem to have some interesting other decor that I couldn't see well under the black lighting. I'm also a sucker for the blueberry muffins that come in the bread basket. The service is always great, you can tell they all work together to help each other. The atmosphere is definitely unique and a little haunted mansion type vibes in some parts but I enjoy eating at places that are different and not just one note.
