[869] This Primos Hoagie location is located right on Baltimore Pike. Easy to get to and plenty of parking out back. We usually place our order in advance and it's ready when we arrive. Hubby's favorite is the Bada Bing... I stopped ordering sandwiches as the bread is too tough for my taste. Hubby loves it. On my last trip I found out I can still get what I want on a wrap. It was noted in small print so I didn't see it. The next time I visit I will need to try the wrap. Staff is friendly. Stop a few weeks ago pick up 2 hoagies . Got the hoagies home one didn't have any oil on it and the other one was missing tomatoes that we asked for and paid for.Ask them to cut the hoagies in half which they didn't do.Gave them another chance and went back yesterday picked up 2 hoagies got them home and one of the hoagies was not what we asked for.My wife had to drive back and get the correct one.Done with Primo hoagies in Springfield the owner needs to get some help because the ones who work their are incompetent ! read more

I have been coming to this location because it's local & convenient. Each time I tell myself I am not going back. It use to be a lot of teenagers working so the hoagies were being made poorly. I came home one time I asked for oil and the entire hoagie was drenched in oil I couldn't eat it. Today I specifically asked for extra onions, heavy seasoninga salt pepper oregano and came home to a small pint of both. I also ask for sweet peppers and was given 3. The cashier has to reciprocate the customers request to the person making the hoagie. if I tell you and you don't let the person making the hoagie know or write it down then it will be ignored. it's always a disappointment for me. I would review the food if I actually had a chance to buy it. Driving in, I tried calling multiple times. At first it was endless ringing, then all of a sudden I was getting a busy signal. Thought it was odd, so I just drove there since it was on my way. Walked in and saw that the phone had purposely been left of the hook (picture attached). Yes, I am from the West Coast (Las Vegas, Malibu & San Francisco) but that will not stop me from ranting and raving about Primo Hoagies in adorable Springfield, PA. This is, by far, the best hoagie my lips have ever touched. Now, although I am a West Coast girl, I have spent a good deal of my life in New York, you know, that state that claims they make the best hoagie? And, I will safely say, you cannot get a better hoagie than at Primo Hoagies. Their Sharp Italian hoagie is amazing. Soft Philly roll, shredded turkey, salami, sweet capacola, prosciutto and sharp provolone. With a douse of oil and oregano, this truly was a perfect sandwich. My fellow diners had the Mild Italian, Sicilian and Audie. All three diners are from Springfield and agreed with me that Primo Hoagies currently holds the title for the "Best Hoagie We Have Ever Had." Since that initial hoagie awakening, I make it a point to go to Primo Hoagies every single time I am in Springfield, usually multiple times in a visit. Even my future mother-in-law orders them for parties she throws for us, as she knows how much I crave these hoagies while I eat my tasteless, boring and inferior "sandwiches" back home in San Francisco. :( read more

After scanning the menu for which hoagie I wanted to order, I felt like it was a sandwich shop run by Tony Soprano or by one of his guys. They had hoagie names like "Bada Bing" or "Bada Boom." How bout "Knuckle Sandwich" or "Whacked Chicken"? Hehehe. I had my fill of meat so I went for the veggie hoagie, the "Nonnie's Veggie" filled with eggplant, sharp provolone, broccoli rabe, and roasted red peppers. This was an awesome veggie sandwich by an Italian deli. All the flavors melded together beautifully. If I could do it again, I would have ordered a smaller size sandwich. I couldn't finish the foot long. Macaroni salad and pasta salad with artichoke hearts were so-so as was the dirty pudding (chocolate cake with icing smushed into a container). I'm ready to love again! Primo Hoagies has never let me down. And after today's experience, I'm ready to give them the 5 star treatment. I mean, they hit the spot in a big way today. I grabbed a Soprano which is Cracked Pepper Turkey, Sharp Provolone with Roasted Red Peppers. The beauty of this sandwich is that it doesn't try to do too much. The roll has the perfect texture with the crust and the chewiness of the inside. The meat was plentiful and fresh, the cheese had the right amount of bite, and they didn't overload it with the peppers. I got just enough pepper in each bite to get the flavor. Wow! Traditional hoagies, full of flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The bread was perfect and the meat was juciy and flaver full. This is like a whole new store compared to the last time I ate here. It's not corporate owned and the new owner has made vast improvements, especially in the quality of the hoagies. The new owner took over in October 2020 and has done a nice job of turning it around. The food is excellent as I bought 3 hoagie trays for a small gathering for my son's birthday and the people loved it. They asked where I got these trays and I told them Springfield and they loved the variety of the trays. The store is very clean and they obide by all of the Covid-19 protocols. Dave, the owner, wants to please the community and give the best customer service he can. He has a customer for life in me. I highly recommend Primo/Springfield for your sandwich needs. read more

After the second time of having to go back up there because they had messed up mine and my moms sandwiches I found lint in the sandwich, balls of lint actually, also The guy who had gave me the new sandwiches was very rude and shoved the bag at me and asked if I had brought the others in which I didn't because I was not told to when my dad had called them his response was whatever with an eye roll. Just spoke to John the Manager - we specifically asked for the order to have no cheese given a dairy allergy - they put cheese in it and marked it "No cheese". We drove home and thankfully realized it had cheese in it. They REFUSED TO REFUND without driving back the sandwich. Declining the charge on my credit card but would not trust my life with these incompetent staff and management. Would rather spend my $28.59 at Wawas for actual service. read more

I ordered (for delivery from GrubHub) from Primo Hoagies in Springfield, Delaware County, Pennsylvania this week. I usually receive a message from GrubHub inquiring about my order, and on this occasion I did not. My order was incomplete. I ordered a roast beef hoagie and requested hot and sweet peppers on the side. My order arrived without the peppers. In addition, the quality of my sandwich was lacking. The lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cheese appeared to be days' old. Given that, I wondered about the freshness of the roast beef. Truly disappointing. I have patronized Primo Hoagies many times, from both their Springfield, PA and King of Prussia, PA locations, and their roast beef hoagies have always had fresh ingredients and were satisfying. What I received this week was neither. I also ordered and received Primo's rice pudding (which I have always enjoyed), but, given the lack of quality of the hoagie, I am now reluctant to eat. While I thank Primo Hoagies for continuing to operate during the current crisis, I don't think I'll be placing an order any time soon, regardless of the circumstances. Major letdown! read more

DONT ORDER HERE!!!! Wrong order and horrible service! I work with a company that always has events catered by this location so I decided to place an order. I was very clear and specific when placing my order, I asked for eggplant sandwich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe WITHOUT red pepper, told person on phone I've had the sandwich before (@ our catered events) and even though I like hot food they put way too much red pepper seeds on the sandwich, so NO pepper please but I will take sweet peppers on the side. I get there 40 mins later when they tell me it will take 30 mins and still wait for my sandwich upon arrival. Then when quoted for this sandwich by the cashier it seemed high, she said oh that's cus they charged you for peppers on side, she took it off and when I got back to work to eat my sandwich it not only was covered in hot red pepper seeds it had peppers I asked for on side on sandwich. I called and acknowledge the uneatable sand which and the same manager said oh the red pepper seeds come pre mixed with red pepper, so of course I said then they should of told me that and I wouldn't of ordered. Since I'm a vegetarian there weren't any other options for me but I said ok replace it with another menu sandwich and I'll give it to my co worker. She said ok 30 min. My co worker went their an hr and a half after the 2nd order and he said they seemed confused about the order and didn't even make the sandwich yet so he just left. I called today and asked for refund and after 5 calls back and forth they tell me the owner said he won't refund it. I'll be disputing this purchase with my bank and spending my $ and have events catered by a better an more authentic Italian sandwich shop down the street called Slacks! The shift lead said he could make it in a few minutes when I complained but I was too aggravated at that point. This was after an issue with my previous trip when my I ordered online then had to wait when I got there because the order never printed. I'm currently at Slack's hoagie shack just down the road. This spot has pretty great sandwiches, a primo for someone with a small stomach can basically make 2 sandwiches and price for one primo size sandwich is 10 dollars tho. I got the Italian and the chicken Parmesan and they were both pretty good. I like the people in there they seem friendly. I think it's pretty cool how They offer rewards membership too! Although I was raised just minutes away from Primos, I didn't fully appreciate it till I moved to the West Coast, a land where hoagie is not even considered a word. The facility is clean, the staff is efficient, if you are in a rush just phone it in and they will have it ready for you. No need to worry about parking, just drive to the back of the store for convenient and easy access. The bread is amazing and always fresh. My favorite is the VEGGIE DIABLO with eggplant, broccoli rabe, long hot peppers and a delicious sharp provolone. Two thums up or better yet five stars to you! read more

I have to agree with the 1st reviewer, these sandwiches are great! Sunday the kids and I checked out the website, and called in the order (about 1pm). Even though they told us 25 minutes, and we arrived on time, the food took an additional 10 minutes, the place was jumping. We ordered 4 sandwiches, all the Primo (medium) sized. an Old Fashioned Meatball, a Chicken Parm, Chicken Diablo and Mild Italian. All 4 were stocked full of fresh meats and cheeses on a nice fresh sesame roll and each must have weighed over a pound. My Meatball had 4 huge meatballs and they were perfectly cooked. A tender consistancy, not the tough, 'rubber ball' kind you find in the frozen food section. The Chicken Parm was large enough that my 15 year old only ate half at lunch, and only most of the rest, for dinner. (I finished it up, and even reheated, 6 hours later, it was a good choice. I'll have to try it next time. The Chicken Diablo had a good flavor, kind of like a buffalo chicken sandwich, without the blue cheese. The 13 year old only ate half, so I got dinner out of it. I can heartily recommend Primo's for a lunch or casual dinner. They're a little pricy with most of the regular 'Primo' size hoagies going north of $7, but the quality, and taste makes it worth the price. (BTW, I was torn between giving Primo 4 or 5 stars, and opted for the lower rating. Not for the quality of the food, which was excellent, but mainly for the price. While I'll gladly pay the higer price for a sandwich here, over, say Panera, they are kind of expensive.) read more

I do love me some Primo. Solid lunch spot and never fails to deliver (figuratively and literally). Once in a while their execution is a bit off, but I feel like that's a minor complaint. If you end up getting the large size from here, they won't cut it in half. The shop is easily accessible and really clean. It looks like they run a good operation in here. We order from here easily 2-3 times a week. They even deliver. Their drivers have always been prompt and polite. I will continue to eat here. The sandwiches from here are stellar. read more

I really felt his customer service was over and above in that initial first Contact. It has been nearly a year since my last experience here so I figured I would give it another go...Mistake! I ordered a corn beef shwartzie and asked for the Cole slaw on the side so that my sandwich wasn't soggy. They also put the dressing on the side and that was fine but they gave me very little meat. They upped their prices again so I basically paid $11.99+ tax for a roll. Really though?? $13 for a sandwich?! That's outrageous! Pretty sure you can still get the Outback Special (steak dinner) for $12.99 down the street. Anyways, I usually can only eat half of a primo sized hoagie but this one was nearly empty so I was able to finish the whole thing and wasn't stuffed or anything. The old owners use to packed them so much that they barely closed and were almost hard to take a bite of bc they were so big, plus I always had half left over for later - you really got your monies worth. The plus side is that this time my roll was fresh and it wasn't falling apart or soggy. Also the very little meat that I did get, didn't taste rancid or like feet, like last time. I will also mention that we ordered an Italian Hoagie too, with pickles and peppers on the side. We got one tiny thing of peppers (literally had 3 pepper rings in it) and 2 tiny pickle chips. Would they have put the same amount if ordered them on the hoagie and not on the side? I think not! My advice is save your money or go a couple of blocks down to Johnny Paisano's. Whenever I want a hoagie PrimoHoagies is my go to spot but they're not always consistent here, it seems like it depends on the current workers, which seems to change frequently. Sometimes my hoagie has plenty of meat and cheese and and is delicious and sometimes it's just meh. Today I was in the mood for a hoagie so I ordered and picked it up. When I ordered the guy asked if I wanted salt and pepper on my hoagie, I thought to myself do people actually get salt on hoagies, I said no thanks to that. I also purchased a small bag of potato chips which were marked 75 cents and I thought not bad for something from Primo. When the guy rings me up he charges $1.30 for the chips so I ask why he's charging 1.30 when it's already marked .75. He said uhhh I don't know why the bag says that, anyway I got my overpriced small bag of chips. When I got home I noticed my receipt listed everything I wanted and also said no pepper, when I started eating the hoagie it's salty as heck and I'm like why on earth would they put salt on my hoagie or on any hoagie for that matter.
