So to really dig into what I love most about Napoletano is the fact that it's local, has some of the most down-to-earth, friendly people running the place, should you take time to stop and have a conversation, good coffee and espresso, and hands down, one of, if not the best offering of breakfast sandwiches in Delco available, and I will defend that assessment tooth and nail. When I first stopped in here it was in a whim, and although they do have a selection of whimsical, sweet, dare I say, ridiculous and sweet coffee beverages, they were able to make me a traditional Italian macchiato. I had been unable to find a good, even passable REAL macchiato anywhere, and they delivered in spectacular fashion. Not only was the drink silky, strong, and small, it was made with outstanding Italian roasted espresso that has a different character than the standard, heavier-roasted American palate has come to be used to. This alone would have been enough for me to return time and time again when I was in the area, but after getting breakfast sandwich on a whim, this instantly became a weekly stop; more than that, a destination. Fast forward a few years and the initial attraction of coffee, sandwich, and friendly staff has transformed into a beautiful relationship where I can easily walk in, everyone knows me before I am all the way through the door, and even knowing my idiosyncrasies, are still excited to see me and listen to me prattle on about whatever might be the story of the day. The time spent here has given me the opportunity to try nearly everything on the menu and try every drink available. Including all the dry goods, pasta for sale, frozen trays of delicious Italian staples, and more. I am not one to just stick to the things I know I enjoy as I am always on a journey for something interesting and exciting, so whenever something shows up I am getting that rather than something in my "comfort zone". This has led to me traditionally losing interest or finding that the quality of a place declines for myself over time, especially multiple years. Not the case here at Napoletano, it has only done the exact opposite and gotten much more rewarding and somehow even more delicious and embracing of people and everyone who comes through the door. This brings me to my most recent food adventures into the menu here, the newest additions for the most part, the added amazing hoagie list. I have had two. The first I tried was the Gondolier, which I was enamored with for weeks. I had been there too early to order lunch time and time again, and then FINALLY, one day it was about time for lunch to be available and Michelle, the wonderful woman running the front of house and so much more, was able to get me this sandwich just a bit early. It had it all....outstanding bread, roasted red peppers, seriously premium meats, both standard deli and cured. However, something just missed the mark for me. I couldn't believe it. I don't know what and I don't know why. I was immediately disappointed, likely because I had hyped this up in my head for so long and I have come to expect so much from Napoletano, I simply couldn't believe that this wasn't the best hoagie I had ever enjoyed. That fact has eaten at me for at least a month now, but today that all changed, and is possibly why I finally found my voice to put all my thoughts together an write this after so many years. During my visit to say hello today, I realized it was once again right around the time where I could order sandwiches. I toyed with the thought of the cutlet sandwiches or even the Cuban which is amazing, but after going around and around and around talking to everyone working about this and that, I finally decided on another hoagie; the Sicilian. Kris, another of my favorite people along with Fanny (who was on vacation) helped me inch toward this one based on my description of my whole previous experience, and tbh is sandwich is so interestingly unique. Topped with lemon and orange zest, it doesn't sound like it would work, but once you take your first bite, you begin to examine your entire existence. Why have you never had a specialty Italian hoagie topped with citrus zest??? The question has been running through my head all day since lunch, and I still cannot understand why I haven't been enjoying something like this my entire life. So many years lost of amazing sandwich experiences.....this sandwich was so divine, despite looking slightly barren and strange, that it blew apart my entire disappointment I had been holding since the gondolier. I will absolutely try the other four in the list. I would have anyway, but this definitely took that mission off of life support and put it front and center. There are so many reasons to go to Napoletano. I could spend another thirty paragraphs writing about what is great about this place, the people, the drinks, the space, all of it. I wanted to love this so much. But it was just ok. Hubby is from Philly and he was not impressed either. Cheesesteak was ok -- big and lots of meat. No whiz and no provolone should have been our first warning sign. Cutlet was overcooked. Sausage and peppers was kinda flavorless. Ravioli was ok. Filling was not a great texture. Fries were really good. Wouldn't go back. Convenient spot. Very clean facility. Bread was good. read more

I haven't had a bad thing here and I don't think they have anything 'bad' here. I'd say their meatball sub shines.- The quality meat, freshness, and quality bread and sauce. I had a toasted marshmallow latte and they use a burner for the marshmallows and put them right in your latte- the way to do it! I tried a Buffalo Chicken sandwich and forgot to ask for the blue cheese but it was still delicious and with the NB logo on the bread. The aricini balls were fine, but I wasn't like I have to have them sorta deal. I didn't know they could be ordered and had to ask in-person since both online and physical menus have "coming soon" on them. Cannolis were freshly made and fine. Staff is friendly and I could've been asked to wait on the side as it appeared other people were picking up or knew all the purchases they were making. If you keep social media and/or website updated with drink options and specials, I can try to look and call in beforehand rather than potentially hold people up. Ive only ever been here for coffee and it's been wonderful but we just tried the pizza and fries for the first time and it was better than expected! The gluten free pizza is the best GF pizza I've ever had. The workers are so cute. Years ago bought fresh pasta when it was called Springfield Ravioli. Since then another good pasta place opened closer to me(Ridley) so haven't been here in a bit. I was looking for good breakfast sandwich in area. Web search, their name came up multiple times. Got scrapple , egg, cheese & son got red pepper, egg and cheese. Heard coffee was good. I don't know why I haven't tried them for lunch until now. Someone should have told me. They sucked me in because I wanted to try their coffee which isn't bad. But now that I know they have these sandwiches they'll bring me back. It's a Liscio's roll, sharp provolone that's not too sharp, broccoli rabe that's not too overwhelming, and a real spicy bite to the tender and juicy roast pork. It wound up being a perfect flavor complement. You don't want to overwhelm pork like this and they do not. It's a Delco sandwich that measures up to South Philly standards. read more

I've been a customer of theirs for years. Recent years have seen a total rehab, and now they have a nice selection of coffee drinks. They also sell beans and ground. Always nice to get fresh tomato sauce in quart containers (they also have frozen). Apart from the usual suspects, they have large frozen trays of lasagna, shells, etc. Check out the mini meatballs and mini ravioli for a change up too. Always an upbeat and happy staff. Yesterday, after seeing my doctor, whose office is right down the street, my "mom" and I took a walk to Napoletano Brothers because we heard they were open. Usually, they are closed when I stop by for my monthly Monday appointment what a pleasant surprise to see them open! What's better than having the shop open on a Monday? Oh...just about everything IN the shop itself! I mean, WOW! I'm 100% Italian and I know how to bake and cook from scratch. And so do the owners of this establishment! I picked up some of their gnocchi, marinara sauce and meatballs to try for dinner that night. You know the food is good when it disappears seconds after it's cooked. According to my kids, the gnocchi were amazing. The prices are very reasonable and the people running the store are very welcoming. Had it not been for Covid, one can see this place as a cool hang out to have coffee with friends. read more

Same business got a facelift and a reboot with expanding options. What used to be the corner pasta store (DelCo has several), has expanded its offerings so you can get the kind of coffee that does not complete with the Wawa across the street and pizza that is a bit different from the pizza place next door. Pizza is square risen dough topped with cheese and basil chiffonade, with or without sauce, or topped with roasted red peppers or sautéed broccoli di rapi. They also have cold brew (coffee- don't get excited) and nitro brew, along with cappuccino. There are a couple of tables to eat in. They still have pasta and pizelles and all the other items they used to carry. We got some pizza slices before the game. I would have liked a bit more sauce and a bit more salt. Ok let's do a scenario here. It's freaking Monday again, it was a hectic morning so you swing by and order a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. You take the sandwich out of the brown bag, take one bite and everything around you disappears. Next thing you know you're out of Delco floating on a cloud with angels singing behind you as you nom on this delicious mix of egg, cheese, breakfast meat and bun. You don't realize you're as hungry as you and you demolish the entire sandwich in a matter of minutes. It was superb. You take a sip of coffee and immediately are thankful for people who appreciate good coffee. It's so smooth and tasteful you don't need to hide the flavor behind creamers and sugars. So it's Ash Wednesday and starting out on the correct foot . . . No meat for the Morrissey's . . . My wife tells me, "I can make shrimp & something or you can go to Napoletano Brothers on Saxer and get a meatless lasagna." I don't know if it's new owners but since the last time I was there when it was Springfield Pasta but the inside looks great. So clean and modernized, happy music playing, really cool copper ceiling, opened up . . . And of course the woman that came out walked me right to what I was instructed to pick up and even pointed me to the italian bread. Tonight: followed the instructions and although needed slightly longer in the oven absolutely delicious.
