Had a family party there around Christmas time. Was very disappointed with service and food. Don't think I will go back.

So to really dig into what I love most about Napoletano is the fact that it's local, has some of…read morethe most down-to-earth, friendly people running the place, should you take time to stop and have a conversation, good coffee and espresso, and hands down, one of, if not the best offering of breakfast sandwiches in Delco available, and I will defend that assessment tooth and nail. When I first stopped in here it was in a whim, and although they do have a selection of whimsical, sweet, dare I say, ridiculous and sweet coffee beverages, they were able to make me a traditional Italian macchiato. I had been unable to find a good, even passable REAL macchiato anywhere, and they delivered in spectacular fashion. Not only was the drink silky, strong, and small, it was made with outstanding Italian roasted espresso that has a different character than the standard, heavier-roasted American palate has come to be used to. This alone would have been enough for me to return time and time again when I was in the area, but after getting breakfast sandwich on a whim, this instantly became a weekly stop; more than that, a destination. Fast forward a few years and the initial attraction of coffee, sandwich, and friendly staff has transformed into a beautiful relationship where I can easily walk in, everyone knows me before I am all the way through the door, and even knowing my idiosyncrasies, are still excited to see me and listen to me prattle on about whatever might be the story of the day. The time spent here has given me the opportunity to try nearly everything on the menu and try every drink available. Including all the dry goods, pasta for sale, frozen trays of delicious Italian staples, and more. I am not one to just stick to the things I know I enjoy as I am always on a journey for something interesting and exciting, so whenever something shows up I am getting that rather than something in my "comfort zone". This has led to me traditionally losing interest or finding that the quality of a place declines for myself over time, especially multiple years. Not the case here at Napoletano, it has only done the exact opposite and gotten much more rewarding and somehow even more delicious and embracing of people and everyone who comes through the door. This brings me to my most recent food adventures into the menu here, the newest additions for the most part, the added amazing hoagie list. I have had two. The first I tried was the Gondolier, which I was enamored with for weeks. I had been there too early to order lunch time and time again, and then FINALLY, one day it was about time for lunch to be available and Michelle, the wonderful woman running the front of house and so much more, was able to get me this sandwich just a bit early. It had it all....outstanding bread, roasted red peppers, seriously premium meats, both standard deli and cured. However, something just missed the mark for me. I couldn't believe it. I don't know what and I don't know why. I was immediately disappointed, likely because I had hyped this up in my head for so long and I have come to expect so much from Napoletano, I simply couldn't believe that this wasn't the best hoagie I had ever enjoyed. That fact has eaten at me for at least a month now, but today that all changed, and is possibly why I finally found my voice to put all my thoughts together an write this after so many years. During my visit to say hello today, I realized it was once again right around the time where I could order sandwiches. I toyed with the thought of the cutlet sandwiches or even the Cuban which is amazing, but after going around and around and around talking to everyone working about this and that, I finally decided on another hoagie; the Sicilian. Kris, another of my favorite people along with Fanny (who was on vacation) helped me inch toward this one based on my description of my whole previous experience, and tbh is sandwich is so interestingly unique. Topped with lemon and orange zest, it doesn't sound like it would work, but once you take your first bite, you begin to examine your entire existence. Why have you never had a specialty Italian hoagie topped with citrus zest??? The question has been running through my head all day since lunch, and I still cannot understand why I haven't been enjoying something like this my entire life. So many years lost of amazing sandwich experiences.....this sandwich was so divine, despite looking slightly barren and strange, that it blew apart my entire disappointment I had been holding since the gondolier. I will absolutely try the other four in the list. I would have anyway, but this definitely took that mission off of life support and put it front and center. There are so many reasons to go to Napoletano. I could spend another thirty paragraphs writing about what is great about this place, the people, the drinks, the space, all of it. But instead of doing that, you should just go here. Even if you're not close, and enjoy!

I also like lemony things. So their Cacio E Pepe was a natural choice for me. Gnocchi is not typically my first pasta choice of texture but Luca's makes the gnocchi and sauce blend so well together . I feel like I would love this sauce on fettuccine and I would like that more but I also think it complements the texture of the gnocchi better too. The shrimp accentuates this dish . So hopefully you like shrimp. They peeled off the shells completely which was nice. The bread had tasty herbs and the salad was refreshing. The sfogliatella was crunchy with tasty custard but the winning dessert has to be the pistachio ricotta cake.. The flavor of the cake is a fun experience in one's mouth and I didn't feel it was too cheesy or too sweet etc. The ingredients are just balanced so well together for a "food harmony." Anyone reading this and seeing that made up term wants to make you give this place a try now! Everything tastes like it was made from scratch. The menu may be relatively small, but they are good at what they do. Staff was friendly and they seem to know their regulars and new people. I also might have been the only one ordering on a random Wednesday night. I believe there is a small seating area but I took out.

I had a watermelon salad and a passion fruit slushie and a Lemon sorbet…read more I had the lemon sorbet because a friend of mine was having it and I preferred lemon and creamier things over chocolate. It was fine but kind of mainstream for me. Their dessert menu was all very straightforward options pretty much. I think the menu has changed a lot from many years ago- my salad was fresh for a Tuesday evening especially. There were a variety of slushie flavors with nice combinations. The quantity would be a little for some, but it was enough for me since it had alcohol and that kept the prices more reasonable. I did not take pictures as I did not want to be rude on this particular occasion. Staff is very friendly and crowd was light but people were still around despite the heavy rain.

Had a local bachelorette for myself which was hosted by my bridal party. We were all very excited…read moreto try Tavolas based upon their website and instagram, however, the restaurant did not make the night special. My maid of honor had booked a table for 11 people (she had her mothers retirement there with more people mind you) and we were seated on their very large outdoor space but not the patio as stated on the reservation. The restaurant is all pretty open to the course and it appeared there was more "patio" area elsewhere. The hostess brought us to the fire pit depicted in the one photo and placed menus on the fire pit and walked away. We were confused as we thought we were getting a table, after going back up to her she said we could have the table next to it as she did not know and that we had the fire pit as well, which was a plus! The disappointing part was that it was never turned on for us. It took several minutes for a waiter to come over to greet us, and triple that to get our first round of drinks. When drinks were brought there were still 3 missing but were eventually brought out. All of our drinks were in wine glasses which was strange and we did not get wine. Our prosecco had the proper glassware however. The waiter then walked away but we called him back as we wanted to get appetizers. We placed them and off the waiter went. While we sipped and toasted another waiter come over stating they had a glass of champagne for someone at the table which had a piece of fruit on the bottom. I had a bride to be sash on and we assumed someone saw it and had treated me to it. Well 10 minutes later and almost done the drink they came over and said "actually that drink was not meant for this table". Did they expect us to return it? Why even say that to a party? That was not our mishap. How oblivious that I am a bride to be as well? Just very odd. It took forever for our food and drinks even more so. There was a decent crowd but nothing extreme. We all felt like it took forever, not just me, and one of the women works at a very busy and fast paced restaurant and she even agreed. Our server was just okay and did not make the night feel special nor did any staff for that matter. For the food--The peach crostini appetizer was pretty good but everyone could tell they were canned cold peaches on the crostini. Cheesesteak egg rolls were mediocre. I ordered an appetizer for my main which was the tuna poke. That was decent and fresh but could have had more sauce/dressing. No one at the table raved about their food. Once we got our food we never saw our waiter till the end when we were all over it and ready to leave, especially since their live music went from upbeat summer vibes to depressing jazz music. After we were done taking some group pictures and paid we left. Never got a congratulations, come again, nothing. Honestly I am so disappointed which is disheartening as I was excited for the night and the decor/atmosphere, which all that it has going for this place. We ended up going out to another local spot for better music, service, and dancing.

I waited approximately six minutes before I was escorted to my own event room (the patio). The table was set with the proper amount of place settings. The event room was clean and appeared well maintained. The server, Billy, arrived within two minutes of being seated. He introduced himself and brought menus. He also brought menus with specials. As I was a bit concerned about the standard menu not having enough variety of selections, the specials added items I did like. I had the swordfish special. All food and drink items arrived within a reasonable amount of time. As extra items were needed, they were also brought in a reasonable amount of time. Billy and the rest of the service staff that assisted were attentive, pleasant and friendly. The food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The prices were reasonable when compared to the quality and portion received. My guests and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend and return. Many of my guests are new fans of this restaurant because of this experience.
