We have been going to Primp and Blow for years. Sammy is the hair Goddess and has styled my daughters hair for social events, birthday parities, holiday parties, and school event. They offer lash and makeup applications as well. All of the staff are super friendly and do an amazing job helping you relaxing during you visit. Agree w Kristin and a couple others above. Clearly some stylists (Sammy- in the chair next to me today) are more experienced than others. My first visit was today- for a special (mid-morning) occasion- and it will be my last. Was nearly in tears when I left- couldn't believe I had just spent that much money/time to leave looking worse than when I came in?! To boot- when I mentioned the great job on the 'do' next to me- my stylist's retort was 'well- she's obviously got a great head of hair to work with?!' - adding insult to injury. While I'm a mature (69) woman w/fine hair- it's quite healthy- and has been nicely styled by others without difficulty. I asked for 'volume and loose curls'- and when I left- my naturally curly hair had NEVER looked so flat and straggly?! And had been matted into place by product(s) too heavy for my fine hair. I arrived at 8am- leaving no time for a 'redo'- any where?! I was also scheduled for eyelashes- and my stylist (eager to get rid of me - 'I see my other client is here!?') after jamming the mascara wand into my right my eye- sent me on my way with a large mascara smudge?! Fortunately- at least I could fix that myself! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY LADIES- there may be good stylists in there- but unless you know of one- this is NOT a reliable establishment. The stylists here are friendly and helpful but some stylists have more experience than some others so if you like your hair you're better off making an appt. with that stylist instead of taking an appt. with whoever is available. They do take walk - ins but I have seen some turned away. The customer service has been lacking recently, it is either very busy and people are rushed out or there is only a few clients and staff is just hanging out at the desk. It's actually worse when the owner/ manager is there! The staff seems nervous and they hurry people in and out. I realize it's more clients , more money but rushing the appt. isn't going to give you repeat customers. For a special event or a fun day with a friend it's a good place to try out. But for consistent hair care and styling, I would look for another salon. read more

I had been wanting to come here since they opened and hadn't had the chance. I finally got the chance to go in for a blowout a few days ago. Had a wonderful experience. I had some questions about the Halo hair extensions, Erin took the time to show me how to apply them and color match me so when I'm ready to purchase. Everyone was so friendly, the inside was clean, there was a such selection of hair products to look at. I tried this service on a Groupon, a Classic Blowout, Hair-Therapy Treatment, and Five-Minute Scalp Massage a few months ago. I appreciated how the lady who did my hair consulted me to find out which therapy treatment would be most suitable, as they have a few of them. There are many neat blow dry styles to choose from at Primp and Blow- I had trouble deciding! Once I picked, she did such a good job blowdrying my thick, long hair. The scalp massage felt sooo heavenly! And the hair-therapy treatment felt luxurious. My blowdry lasted a week! I was impressed. read more

First time having my hair and make up professionally done and though I enjoyed conversation with the stylist, the end result was not worth the money. The first issue was that I feel like they were overbooked and that resulted in the main issue. I paid to hair my hair and makeup done so after drying my hair, the stylist takes me to the makeup chair and that all goes fine and well until I look in the mirror and can clearly see blocky drawn on lines through and around my eyebrows and squared off ends. So maybe just lighter strokes next time. At this point another client had come in and was waiting on my stylist to finish up even though she hadn't started my hair yet therefore she starts rushing and forgets to do a lip or highlight but not a big deal, I added my own. The stylist then sits me down in her chair to realize that her curling iron had been turned off, furthering the stress of a client waiting on her. After maybe a minute she then proceeds to curl my hair with a semi warm iron, finishes, and has a coworker check me out. Half my hair is straight because the iron wasn't hot enough and she was rushing so did not hold it on long enough. The makeup I can get over because everyone has their own taste and style but paying $80 to have someone wash and curl you hair for a family event and then leaving with completely flat roots, no curl and barely any wave is ridiculous. My hair holds curl very is if done right/devote atleast a full 10-15 mins. Picture was taken about 90 mins after leaving salon. There was no humidity that day and I was only outside for a few mins to pose for the picture. This is just my personal experience and everyone seemed like great women in there but please do not neglect your current client because you are afraid of missing out on the next one. read more
