I'm glad I listened to my intuition because when I looked up, I saw a sign.. literally. In red and white letters it read "NY Music Garage" and below it a window decal which exclaimed "A Different Kind of Music Store." As soon as I walked in it was clear that those words were true. I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. I had initially planned to just scope out their collection and perhaps jam, while getting to know the store, but with so many affordable goodies around, I just had to shop. The awesome fellas there helped me pick up a perfectly fitting guitar slide, a strap lock and even a homemade guitar-shaped cutting board!! It's made of walnut, shaped like a Les Paul and sealed in food-grade sealant... how cool is that?! They even had two other variations, a tele and and a strat. After all that shopping, I was ready to try some guitars. They kindly guided me to a private practice room, which had plenty of space to move around, several fun amps and phenomenal acoustics. Looking around the store, it was clear they carried an awesome collection of new, used and vintage axes... all at fair & reasonable prices too! I'm absolutely stoked with my haul and will definitely be back next time I'm out in Huntington! Thanks fellas!

He started fairly young doing one on one sessions, and just 6 months ago became part of the Rock 101 band. Suddenly he's seeing the big picture of why it's so cool to play music in a band and perform for others. He's really hooked on it. I can see the change in his attitude and confidence. It can be a challenge for him to focus and stay attentive, but put a guitar or a microphone in his hand with a band and he becomes the boy he knows he can be. I paid nick privately for a few months in 2020 but my son was ready to return in person. Id recommend this school, but I hate how they let go of nick. They told me before even tellimg him! I enjoyed his style, as I watched some instructors having children play for concerts and all of them were flat. Id focus on physical energy. If that is there, then no 9ne will notice the quality of the tunes. I know as a ballerina of many years and strong, that faking it will always cover up a mistake or subpar performance.
