We made reservations for a Sunday roast dinner. It was a gorgeous evening and the pub was packed, but we were seated at the table they had reserved for us quickly. The décor is fun - cozy but stylish. The staff was very friendly and they have a good drinks menu. I had the roast chicken and my friend had the beef. The food was pretty good - nothing to write home about, but still a good meal. Note that the women's restroom is upstairs; the men's restroom on the ground floor says those who are disabled can use it as well. Just something to keep in mind. read more

went here and joined a party of six. the service literally never came to our table once in a several hours period. Even though we had a table, we went to the bar to order both food and drinks. I got a scotch egg, scallops, and one other appetizer. my two friends on the same ticket ordered at the same time and their food that was supposed to come out with it was 15 minutes later to the table. the scallops were WAY overcooked. the scotch egg was ok but nothing great. my colleagues food was also not executed well. we played trivia and the team that won appeared to have cheated w a phone but we had some laughs. go to his place for a beer perhaps but keep your food order for somewhere else and get ready to service yourself. read more

The fresh sourdough bread here is amazing! So delicious! This was the best thing at the restaurant. Since I was in London I thought I would try fish and chips. When in Rome... why not? Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it. I think I was shocked to find the skin inside the batter. Maybe Americans are used to "fish sticks" where the skin is not a part of the meal? It was unexpected! Came here with work collegues, as a table of about 8, on a Monday lunchtime. We were the only folk there. Despite this, all steak dishes were off the menu. To top that, they are serving fake pie -- their 'chicken and ham hock pie' is served in a dish with a pastry lid. I can't stand it when pub/restaurants do this. A pie has pastry all around! I chose the sausage and mash instead of either of the above. The sausages were burnt. Everything else about the pub is fine, though they don't really have a good selection of hand-pulled beers if that's your thing. read more

What a lovely pub - I can't believe it's taken me this long to find it! The Prince Regent served as a perfect meeting place before heading to an art exhibition around the corner on Marylebone Road. Conveniently located in equal distance from Baker Street and Regents Park stations, the place was heaving on a Friday night - but in a nice way. We were lucky enough to grab a table downstairs (the "Opium Den" upstairs was booked by a private party) and just about managed to have a conversation against the music - quite loud and rocky. Having read through some of the other reviews, I think a Sunday roast is on the cards some time soon. read more

The Prince Regent is a very plush pub located on the very luxurious Marylebone Hight Street. To say that the inside decoration is pretentious would be putting it lightly, and yet I still found the pub quite attractive. The inside walls are painted in a very deep purple, there are crystal chandeliers hanging from the cielings and when you order food you will be handed an empty bottle of red wine with a pink jazzy flower, instead of the traditional pub wooden spoons. There are even signs alluding to an opium den, obviously inexistent, but funny just the same. The toilets deserve a paragraph to themselves. When you walk in you will first be greeted by a traditional wall painting of a naked girl lounging in a bed, meanwhile below the image there is a purple velvet chaise-longue and a roman vase. Each cubicle door has been decorated by unique cherub, while the sinks are lined with gold-rimmed faucets. Everything in this pub is rather decadent and very camp, but it is definitely one of the most lavish pubs I have been to. read more

The most satisfying meal I've had in London so far. We stumbled in at 10:15 looking for dinner. the tomato mozzarella salad was light, enough for two people to nibble on, but it was the main course that made me very happy. I ordered steak pie which came with a side of potatoes, broccoli and carrots. The pie was mostly crust but with the gravy and sides it was just right. A real feel good meal, cozy and just right after a long day of sightseeing. If only the coworkers next to me would have taken down the tipsy flirting, it would have been perfect. Having decided to meet my friend Mark in Marylebone High Street to catch up after a busy week, that involved me working all hours and him passing out in a Soho doorway after a night out (which one of us is cooler?) we decided to meet at the Prince Regent. Having walked past the Prince Regent many times over the years, I was intrigued to venture in. First of all I was greeted by a great vibe and atmosphere of the post-working week masses drinking and relaxing in the opulent surroundings of the Prince Regent. Second, I was greeted by Mark who was a pint and a sip into the evening, eagerly leering at the barmaid who seemed to be missing the uppermost portion of her clothing. The Prince Regent is a large pub, and offers many tables across two floors. Even so, we stood while we were drinking, as it was busy busy busy on a Friday! Overall a great pub, but there are better places to drink in this area. read more

Dropped in here for a post-work, pre-dinner drink and discovered a lovely place! It's a pretty traditional feeling British pub, with pretty much anything you'd like to drink. The wood is dark, and it feels cosy, versus oppressive. The menu looked delicious, but we already had a dinner reservation I didn't have a chance to eat here. I LOVE Yelp because you never have to suffer through a bad meal. We were out all day, on Regent street, and knew that we wanted a Sunday roast. We chose Marleybone as it was on our way home by foot. I checked Yelp and Prince Regent had the best reviews and the most stars so we selected it as our destination. We had a fantastic dining experience. We hunkered down for our roast and not only was the food good, the atmosphere and staff were wonderful! We were eating and chatting happily when all of a sudden, there was live music--but not just any live music, it was a great 3 man bluegrass band. I had the roasted chicken and cheesy cauliflower while my friend had a burger. Again, the food was good but the overall experience made it 5 stars for us! read more

The opium den (mentioned in a review below) does exist! There's just no opium there--it's a beautifully decorated upstairs room with tables for dining and drinking. When you go in, take a look around at all the rooms before you choose your table! The mistake i made was to snag an open table near the entrance and I only got a look at the rest of the place when I went off in search of the restrooms (the ladies' room is upstairs...not sure where the men's is) We had excellent fish and chips, salad, and calamari. The menu is standard british pub fare and we were there on a sunday evening with 5 different kinds of roasts to choose from. Great atmosphere with quirky upholstery and quality food. Tucked in here on a Saturday night with a couple friends and was extremely pleased with our choice. We were in search of a non-chain pub, tasty food and an off the beaten road beer selection. We found all these things in spades at Prince Regent. The pub was busy (not overly busy or too loud, but no tables free and everything had reserved signs) but we got lucky and sniped a table just as a group headed out. We ordered the butternut squash salad, roasted tomato hummus, sweet potato wedges and some olives. All the food was great - very fresh and fairly inventive for pub fare. I was particularly happy with the roasted butternut squash salad which was served with toasted pine nuts on a bed of baby gem lettuce. For the beers, we had the meantime pale ale which is always a delight and a pleasant german lager I'd never heard of though the name now escapes me (sadly they were out of the hefeweisse which was on rotation). I was on a major hunt for a Yorkshire Pudding/English Roast during my recent stay in London...and this place did not disappoint. In the trendy Marlyebone, this place hit the spot. With the bright and ornate purple decor, the hip families lounging about, and Aspall Cider on tap, I was a happy lass. The beef roast was to die for - perfect amount of food, perfectly cooked and the yorkie pudding was wonderfully crisp on the outside, and doughy on the in. I could have lapped up the gravy with a spoon it was so delicious. We grabbed a window seat facing the street so it was ideal people watching, and close to the bar for when it get's packed and you want to grab another pint without having too wait too long. Beers after lunch here today, was good to get in early (about 4) as I got a table, it got pretty manic from about 5. They have a good selection of beers, the decor is good (a little bit old school pub, a little bit trendy bar), the staff are friendly, and the music is pretty good (at least for the few hours I was there). Didn't eat but it didn't seem like a good place to eat, particularly on a Friday evening. Might be ok for lunch. read more

To highlight just how awesome this pub is: I don't remember leaving. I have fond memories of my Sunday in Marylebone, but they get a little hazy around 11pm. Probably all the bitter cherry beer I drank. There was a lot of that. Not cheap at £4.10 a bottle, but worth every tipsy penny. The Prince Regent is a snazzy pub on Marylebone High Street. It's interesting and 'quirky' which means the ladies loo has a chaise longue in it, the carpet is zebra print. Sounds horrible, but once you've mixed it with traditional furniture and dark wood and you've got yourself a really nice pub. Staff are a little snooty (we're in Marylebone after all), but then they serve up tasty tasty bar snacks (think squid and chorizo and yummy things) so I forgive them. I left full of laughter, beer and nice food. I'll be back soon so I can do it all over again. read more

Came here after a lengthy walk from Primrose Hill. I would say this is the only time my fellow yelpers have failed me. This has to have been the worst pub food I have had in London. My girlfriend and I shared a snack of whitebait and mac 'n cheese. Simple enough, but the whitebait was deep fried without batter from frozen. This meant the fish was rubbery and not very nice. The gratuitous sprinkle of paprika failed to add anything further. The mac n cheese was a joke. A tiny plate of cheap pasta and cheese mixed with even cheaper watery salad tomatoes. Yuk. The service behind the bar was awful, with the barmaid failing gloriously to multitask. Two stars because she replaced my off ale with no questions. There are much better pubs in the area. read more

I love this pub, I come here on a regular basis and have done for about 3 years now. Great for a quiet drink or dinner. I've had two Christmas type meals in addition to several normal meals here with friends and have never been disappointed. They offer a nice, reasonably priced bottle of Prosecco and a good selection of drinks in general. The ladies restroom is certainly different you need to visit in order to appreciate! The staff are always very accommodating, the ambiance relaxing and the deserts are pretty awesome! I have been to Prince Regent several times now as I work nearby. I have, admittedly, only been for drinks, but each time has been a really pleasant experience. The service is good and the drinks are nice - particularly happy hour! As a matter of fact, I think I've only been during their happy hour. During my most recent visit, my friend and I got a round of cocktails (a gin and tonic and cosmo) and they were excellent, and only £13 total! Especially given the quality of the drinks and the really warm and inviting ambiance of the bar, this is a great deal (and let's face it - we all like a good deal). I also heard the food is really good, but haven't had enough time to try it out, so definitely next time! Make sure you get there before 6 if you want a seat because it fills up quickly! read more

We used to have many of our university parties here at the Prince Regent. As Catherine said, it is a bit pretentious, but it is a nice atmosphere. The upstairs is lovely and we would usually end up there if no one had booked it for a private event. It is difficult to get bar service here sometimes on a busy night, but if you go often enough, the bar staff does remember you and gets you in quite quickly! There is also a bit of room to be outside and drink on nice days. Prices are reasonable and strong (if you're getting a cocktail). read more

Before i ever lived in London, when i was a young Bristolian dreaming of the days i' live in the big smoke, i used to come and stay with my cousin. for some reason, i used to find myself in this pub every single time i visited. I say for some reason, i suspect that reason was the fact that the bar man in here looked like Jude Law (Actually a spitting image thereof, not a passing resemblance). Full of baker Street beauties, when i go here now i just feel entirely unsophisticated, but it'll always have a special place in my heart. The bar staff are still gorgeous, and they have an amazing sign above the stairs saying 'opium den' which makes the place feel like some decadent, debauched parlour. The decor is very opulent, and if you go to Madame Tussuad's (which you should immediately) then this is a great place to have a drink afterwards. read more

What a strange place this was... the décor is mostly 'nice' and 'fits' with the name of the pub (lots of plush purples and royal hues), thought he toilets are near the worst I've seen in a London pub, and especially one of M&Bs Castle brand establishments. The staff all seemed to be hating their jobs when I went in on Sunday, and this could have been the intense heat wave that seemed to be really striking quite hard at the time, or it may have been how they always are - professionalism would dictate that the heat shouldn't make a difference, but I'm all for making allowances for being human. The drinks were soso and nothing to write home about, and there seemed to be some really odd choices in terms of matching stools and tables up which meant that some parts of the pub almost seemed off limits. Without a doubt my biggest bugbear though? The drinks menu which proclaimed that they would "except any excuse for a party" in their opium den. I'd "accept" their apologies for their horrid grammar, and then wander outside to use the tables that allow you to stand on the street and enjoy your pint. By far and away not the worst place ever, but so many quick wins that would push it on so much in no time at all. read more

I visited this pub on Sunday. I have been here twice before and enjoyed the food and indeed have given it a good review. Yesterday I went for Sunday lunch. They had run out of roast lamb and so I had pork which I ordered at 2pm. At 3pm the pork was served. It was cold apart from two roast potatoes. I can eat cold food and did so as I did not want to wait longer. No apology for the long wait. I have therefore edited my review. Unlikely to visit there again. Shame. read more

I went here recently on a Sunday for lunch. Was quite busy but comfortable. I had salmon fishcakes which were delicious with wedges and coleslaw. The food came quick which was good and the waitress was friendly and attentive. It's very spacious inside with a good atmosphere and there is a very large bar which must be handy for when it is extremely busy. It's in a lovely area and easily accessible. Good value for money beer and a great after work crowd makes this one of my favourite pubs to visit on Marylebone High Street. It has a lot of dark wood and drapes, suiting more to the winter cliental as there is limited outside space. Beer is good, cider better. If it is quiet there isn't quite enough to keep you entertained although the staff are always chatty and they occasionally give out a free glass of mulled wine! read more
