Tried two days in a row since we were traveling. First day the pancakes were doughy and a bit raw. The waffle wasn't much better. Today we had omelettes which were ok but runny. The grits you would think would rock due to being in the south....nope. The town needs some more options. But, alas, I do not live here. read more

It comes with a choice of home fries, hasbrown patty, grits, tomatoes, or gravy and a biscuit or toast. My omelet was slightly over cooked. The biscuit was light and fluffy. The gravy was just plain white gravy that didn't have any flavor. Hot sauce helped. The homefries were cooked to perfection. The French toast was thinly sliced and average. Wanted some food after running on Saturday morning. The wait at Sunrise wasn't long at all and staff was very friendly while running around taking care of the customers. Finally got a table after a short wait, and our waitress was at our table within seconds of us sitting down. She took our orders and kept our cups full of coffee. I had pancakes, only 2 as I usually don't eat after running. Best pancakes I've ever had! The others in my party were very happy with their food as well. Will most definitely be back! Service was great food was ok , the cook does not know how to two pan an omelette, sauté the inside ham onions and peppers first , then lay down the egg batter and when it's ready add the ingredients so that the eggs don't scorch trying to cook the inside fixings . The food is amazing; service exceptional; and the menu offers anything you'd want for breakfast I'm the south. I had pecan pancakes; my husband had an omelet. We asked about the chocolate gravy and our server immediately Brought out the softest, flakiest biscuit I've ever seen, and chocolate gravy. As weird as it sounds to a northerner, it was delicious. Our server, Sarah, provided great conversation while simultaneously making sure all her tables were taken care of. As for ambiance, it's clearly a home-town favorite. Many times after our church service e we have tried to here but they are closed way earlier then their business hours are listed as. For example church let out at noon and we ventured out to Sunrise to full our hungry bellies. We arrive at 12:08pm only to be met by a gentleman saying sorry we're closed. The kitchen closes as 12:30pm. This was a shock considering the business hours show open until 130pm not whenever we are closing. Being the only other homemade option in the town other then Waffle House it was very disappointing that we had to travel way further to get a good brunch at cracker barrel. read more

Stopped in for breakfast this morning, first time we've been to Sunrise. I ordered the pecan pancakes -- excellent, very fluffy and tasty. Also had a couple sausage patties on the side, thought they were just OK. My fiancee went with a bacon, tomato, and cheese omelet -- she thought it was good, but the tomatoes had a slightly "funky" taste though.
