We just visited Princess auto at Barrie, peoples there are not willing to help at all, ridiculous poor services. They are no manner and ignore your question. We bought a pickup truck crane which is 450lbs on shelve but no one trying to help us to lift it down. Only my husband and me (110lbs) lady only two of us lifted ourselves. Think what happen if we get hurts from that heavy box. Anyway there was only one lady willing to helped us while we lifted from shelve asile and lead us to cashier and to our car. But all those strong man are ignored to help and just stand there to chat with their colleagues....really bad service and how could be all guys not assist with these heavy tools and just let 3 of us (one man and two ladies) to lifted this 450lbs into our car. What a bad experienced we ever had with princess auto. All the staffs there are look so lazy and no service, only one good lady there to assist which we really appreciated. Other than that BAD BAD BAD....cashier man don't even say Thank you. Please review your staffs attitude or just fire all your lazy staffs by just standing there and save your labour cost. A lots of staffs but no one will assist any of your customer read more

History

Established in 1933.

Princess Auto was founded in 1933 in Winnipeg as Princess Auto Wrecking. After being acquired by Harvey Tallman in 1942, the company expanded from auto wrecking into war surplus, tools, and equipment. Through the 1940s and 1950s, it became known for repurposing military parts and running a successful mail-order business, which grew to 70% of sales. In 1977, Princess Auto opened its first retail store in Edmonton, later adding a national call centre, catalogues, and eventually online sales in 1998. Now headquartered in Winnipeg, the company operates over 56 stores across Canada and three distribution centres. In 2024, Princess Auto secured the naming rights to IG Field, home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, now called Princess Auto Stadium.
