The attitude of the staff that greets you in the front door was super rude even on opening day (whom I presume to be the manager; a black guy with very short hair and wears glasses). We thought we would take our own buckets since it's for the first 150 or 200 customers on grand opening day, says the flyer. He thought we were stealing or something and his tone was very bad. Why didn't he stand right next to the buckets when we entered then? And he made up rules that it's one per family while it clearly says on the flyer that it's one per customer. How could he prove that when two people with different last names and different addresses be a family? I don't know. He just makes assumption. Other staff were nicer but not very efficient, which I don't think is related to the new opening. We dealt with a total of 5 staff to eventually get the orders done. First we asked staff 1 where to find certain item. He didn't know where it is and has to ask someone else. So we kept following him and walking back and forth. Eventually we found the products and go to check out. Then staff 2 who helped us check out messed up with our purchases and we have to return. Then staff 3,4,5 helped us return and repurchase and gave us the promotional gift card (buy $100+ and get $25 gc). And all of these assistance while checking with multiple people took us over half hour to purchase 3 simple items. It's not about the systems not compatible or need time to merge or something; it appears to me that each person may know just a little bit of something and so no one person knows how to follow through(?) To be honest, rona price isn't the most competitive and so if you don't have gift cards to use like me; I'll shop else where. So in the end, the store values "customer" who just walk in and out to take the bucket and not value "real customer" who have just dropped $500 in one visit. You can gauge what kind of culture Rona+ has.

The business I work for is located in Toronto, but since I live north of the city, I happened upon their website while looking for somewhere to get keys cut. After seeing they sold a lot of stuff I use at work on their website, I decided to drop in and ask a few questions to see if I could get many of the things I need on an ongoing basis. Turns out they do, and I've been frequenting the place ever since. Not only is ordering items easy: You can order online, email in an order, or call one in - and can either have your items shipped, or go and pick them up from the store (right away if they're a stock item, or a couple of days later if they're not), but the customer service here is second to none. Peter goes out of his way to try and be helpful, and to ensure you get exactly what you want. I've also benefited from Peter's diagnostic skills more than once. Whether I've brought in a broken piece of hardware, showed him pics of something on my phone, or emailed a video in, he always helps out where he can, and gives help and advice that have more than once proved both correct and valuable. First went to get a replacement lawn tractor belt. They supplied me twice with the wrong belt. Had…read moreto go back 3 x. They insisted they gave me the correct belt. Finally went to another retailer who checked the belt to the manual. They found the manual spec'd the wrong belt. They found me a belt that worked. Took in my Stihl trimmer for repair. Was told that it would be roughly a $50 fix. Was told I would be called with quote. No call came. When I called to inquire, was told it was repaired. The bill was just under $100. Asked why no call & that they went ahead with the repair? They said sometimes they forget to call. I would have purchased a new trimmer for $175 rather than repair the one I brought in. Bought a Stihl Chainsaw on my initial visit to get the lawn tractor belt. Saw had trouble starting. Took it back within a few weeks. Got a call that they wanted $108 + tax to repair. It was few weeks old. Tried to use it once. They have ignored my calls & emails. All I am left with is a $243.74 charge for a faulty chainsaw that they have in their possession.
