Honestly if there was a choice for zero stars i would have done it! I usually go to Pacific Nails but i wanted to try somewhere new. I went in wanting a full acrylic set and had a reference photo as well. I should have gotten up after i noticed none of the tips were matching my nail size, and if she put the powder on it would look extremely wonky (which they did). She built the powder on SO much and in the shape of a witch's nails. When i asked her to shave it down, she did as much as she could but by the reference photo i have it still looked pretty curved! I then started letting her know what i didn't like in the hopes that i could walk out of the salon happy, but when we got to the nail polish it went downhill. The whole time she was pressing on the sides of my nails so hard it started to hurt, and then she would repeatedly go over my cuticles with the drill ans i would flinch to try and alert her but she just kept goinThe nail polish is streaky, theres air bubbles, there are weird dots under my nails and you could see the mistakes from incorrect shaping coming out. Best part, it took 2.5 hours!! Save yourself the money, time and pain and go somewhere that actually knows what they're doing... trust me. I am never recommending this place to anyone! read more

She was on the phone constantly and got upset when I asked her to please make my nails square saying that her taste is different than mine!!! Tammy did my toes and she was fantastic. Even though I love Tammy's work and she was very professional and polite I will not be back here again because of Mary's rudeness and her terrible customer service. I went with a friend for pedicures and am really happy with the way my feet and toes feel and look. Even though we had an appointment, we had to wait 10 minutes before they could get to us. I was happy to sit and soak my feet while I waited. My pedicurist gave my feet and legs a wonderful massage while my nails were drying, which I thought was a great use of time. read more

Great experience here. I was a walk-in wanting a pedicure. The owners (husband and wife I'm guessing) both greeted me, and had me sitting in the chair in less than 10 minutes. The girl who gave me my pedi was great. I like my pedis in peace, no chit-chatting - unless i'm in the mood. That day I just wanted to relax with my magazine. The girl left me alone, she just did her thing. She gave me a great leg massage - perfect amount of pressure. The only thing I have to complain about is the chairs are not massage chairs, and the tubs you soak your feet in are not jetted tubs - in fact, they are regular kitchen sinks! Because they're not proper seats/tubs for pedis, I had to slouch down quite a bit into my chair to get my feet far out enough for the girl to work on them, especially when I had to put them flat on the footrest for the polish. A bit uncomfortable. They should invest in some cushions for customers like me who are too short to reach the footrest. Other than that, I will definitely return... unless I find another place that has better more comfortable seating! read more

I'm pretty disappointed in my nails. They are thick, the jewels are crooked and I came in with a pink-white ombré and asked to keep it exactly the same. She couldn't do the ombré so she went over it with a pink and my tips are no longer white. Also I said I wanted to go a bit shorter and she took off too much length before asking if it was okay. She also burnt 2 of my fingers to the point of bleeding. I also got a pedicure which turned out really nice. The ladies were very friendly but my manicure experience will not result in another visit. read more

polite nail techs! they offered me tea, water, and hot chocolate when i came in and also made sure i was comfortable before they began. the salon appeared to be understaffed as the woman doing my nails was also answering the phone the entire time i was in. a full set did not take too long, about an hour, and the technicians have pretty good technique. it was easy to book an appointment and also convenient to get there as there is a bus stop very close by. would be great if they had more ventilation as all they had was small fans at each station and shellac is quite strong smelling. overall, i would come here again and enjoyed my experience at princess nails. read more

I am currently in the middle of getting a pedicure and cannot wait to come back and get my nails done. I dropped in with my neice for a pedicure and from the get go my experience has been great. They were busy but still managed to get us in. The girl doing my pedicure Lindsey is great, very friendly and the massage was fantastic. At no point did we feel rushed or ignored. They were super great to my neice polishing her toes and fingers. The only thing they could use would be more ventilation for the gel/acrylic nails but other than that I really like this place. I was in North Vancouver and I decided to stop by Princess nails awhile back in April. All I needed was a fill and pedicure. The girl that did my fill was very nice and made me feel comfortable. She seem as if she did not care about my nails though. The shaping job was not great. She was fast though. The place was clean and spacious. The setup of the massage chair was a little awkward and the pedi-cure sinks looked like a kitchen sink. The girl who did my pedi-cure (sorry forgot names already!) she was great! Paul is simply the best there is! Years ago I had frequented Princess to have my nails done by him on a regular basis. I was always thrilled. However I decided to stop getting my nails done so had stopped coming. As a New Year's Eve treat my boyfriend sent me to another place to get my nails done before our big night out. The salon he selected had apparently had great reviews unfortunately they were not. After being disappointed by their sloppy work and lack of attention to detail, I returned to Paul to clean up the mess. Paul again did the most amazing job. I was looking for another place to go to because I was NOT impressed with my first two experiences. I decided to go onto yelp, and read all the reviews on Princess Nails. I was a bit skeptical because what is acceptable for one is not always acceptable for another. I was pleasantly surprised!! It was not too busy for a Saturday afternoon, so nice and quiet :) They have a big screen tv mounted on the wall that you can watch if you feel like it. The place was so CLEAN, organized and spacious!! The staff are friendly and Paul who did my nails is awesome. He chit chatted with me a bit but didn't talk my ear off or gave me the silent treatment like some of them do. He did an awesome job with my nails . I had them filled. I was in and out in half hour and couldn't believe it!! He was quick but still very professional and my nails look awesome. I will definitely go back. Next time though I will park behind the store and not across the street. I was a bit nervous about my car being towed, but, now I know for next time. read more

Awesome experience here! My mother-in-law and I were having a girls day and we started our day here. Great location (good parking around) and they were ready for us when we arrived :) VERY Clean! Very peacefull. We each received a shellac manicure and opted for nail polish pedicure. We were very well attended and ALL staff were very very friendly and pleasure to chat with. They all spoke English, which I enjoyed being able to chat (not that I mind other places the staff chatting among themselves, just sometimes I feel left out?) Everyone was so nice and kind and took a real interest in us. My shellac looks awesome and I can tell it will last for good time. We didn't feel rushed, but they also were awesome and were able to accommodate us as we had made an appointment the next block over an hour after the nail appointment. (so we had manis and pedis in an hour BUT we were the only people there and we had made an appointment for 9:00 am) We really appreciated their great service in a good time. My feet also feel so smooth and toe nails look awesome! I will have to make another appointment in the future to see what else they can do! Maybe nail art next time? Thanks so much! Had a horrific, traumatic, scary experience at this salon. Racial Attack towards Farsi speaking/Iranian. Mary and the owner violently attacked me and cornered me on the pedicure chair at the salon when I was the only client at the salon. I was so scared and shaking. Was getting my toes and nails done. The lady doing my nails was kind and polite. I chose a colour for my toes and nails before my trip and my toes where done and half way through my nails the lady told me that she cannot finish my nails because the colour is finished, she scraped off all the edges around the nail polish container where the bottle twists off and only made it through half way of the second coat. Nails looked pale. They talked among them selves (workers) in their language and sounded nervous. Lady came back and apologized to me and said they should not have offered that colour from the beginning. I said okay let's figure out something maybe a design on the nails that could hide the faded parts since my toes where already done and I needed same colour on toes and nails. She went to the back to let the "manager" Mary know about the problem and I was waiting to figure out a solution. Suddenly Mary ran towards me from the back and started yelling at me aggressively that I need to pay. I politely reassured her that of course I am going to pay and that it's not about the money, but the nail polish is finished and we are trying to figure out what to do. But she kept repeating that I need to pay regardless of how many times I said I WILL pay, let's finish my nails though. She went to the back and called the owner. The owner (a man) pulled up in a motorcycle within couple of minutes and ran inside and yelled at me what's wrong with you? These girls worked hard and you have to pay, and I repeated saying I will pay but the nail polish is finish and we are trying to figure out what to do and he said be quite I know "YOU PEOPLE" you just complain blah blah to not pay and "SO WHAT THE NAIL POLISH IS FINISHED? mistakes happen, shut up about it." He said if you don't pay we grind your nails to bleed and take off all the work we have done or you have to chose another colour for your hands. He and Mary left to the back. I was the only client in the salon and was afraid for my safety, I wanted to call 911 but was afraid that they would punch me out and take me to the back and make me disappear. So I told the lady to just put any colour and I paid and left. I'm shocked, I think this was a racial attacked because when I came to write the review I read in the other reviews that they have been racist towards farsi speaking people. I came on my trip the next day and the day after (day three) the nail polish "acrylics" I requested but seems like they put shellac instead, started to peel off. I keep getting flash backs of their aggressive attack and how afraid I felt for my life to reach out to 911 because I was the only client there. The lady doing my nails was very embarrassed of their behaviour and kept apologizing to me and said they are having "a bad day". Writing this I'm concerned for the safety of that worker also, but somebody has to say something and their behaviour needs to stop. read more

I would have given 5 stars but they need to work on their shop ocleanliness. Their tools are sanitized properly, handwashing is good ect but the shop needs a bit of a scrub down. They do nice work, friendly and accommodating. read more

This was the first time I visited this salon. I got a manicure. The staff was really friendly and very accommodating. Although, I wasn't too impressed with the paint job on my nails (it was not painted as clean and sharp ad I wanted) the manicurist was more than happy to correct it. read more

I am extreamly disappointed with princess nails, Mary was rude, disrespectful and when I asked for a polish change and nail fill she did not take my previous polish off, she said that the red was the acrylic base (which it was not it was my polish color) and added a black paste ontop started to file it and that'a when I got upset, I questioned her about this and she said that she has to do this in order to paint it black, which is wrong. I have been doing my nails for years and usually get black and not once have I heard of not taking the previous polish off and filling it with a black paste. She told me to go get my nails done across the street if I wasn't happy, and then said let me take off my work first. I said no and told her she ruined my nails and I refuse to pay for this. Not only this, but she was on her phone the entire time, I even had to ask her if she was finished using her phone to continue doing my nails. Mostly I was impressd with this establishment :) They were very friendly and the owner was even willing to change from the hockey game to Sex in the City for me (although it was playoffs so I let the hockey game stay on, this IS Vancouver after all and I know how important hockey is! LOL) I had both a mani and a pedi, both were ok. The only real complaint that I would have is that I asked for my nails to be rounded and kept at a certain length and unfortnuately they ended up shorter and squared :( I would try again though they are very friendly and moderately priced :) read more

The man who did my nails did not offer me a colour wheel to pick from, he did not ask me the shape or length I wanted and what is worse is they didn't even last 4 days! As I was getting them done, the worker made me feel extremely uncomfortable, he asked me weird questions and being a young female I was not comfortable. Although I like the staff at Princess Nails, and have been a patron for years I can no longer recommend this salon for several reason. 1) To save time removing shellac polish in, they soak your fingers up to the knuckle in a bowl of pure acetone (instead of putting the polish remover on cotton on just the nail bed). My fingers came out chalk white and the skin still feel irritated days after my appointment. 2) To my horror, they poured the chemicals (probably close to 3/4 cup of pure acetone) directly down the drain pipe! 3) I was charged $89 for a very poor quality mani-pedi (I usually pay $60 for similar services at most salons downtown). They told me after the fact that they charged extra for removing my old shellac that had not been applied by Princess Nails. 4) Not only was it an expensive service, but VERY poor quality. It is less than one week after my appointment and I had to go to another salon to get another manicure because the polish on every fingernails has chipped (and they didn't charge me to remove the polish applied at Princess Nails). Services at other salons typically lasts about 2 weeks, not 3 days! 5) Although it was quiet on my last visit, I had stopped going to Princess Nails regularly because they had a habit of over booking themselves and accept all walk-ins (which often results in having delays in pre-booked services because they are too busy). I've regularly had to wait over 2 hours to complete a mani/pedi that had been booked days in advance. Sadly I can no longer endorse this local salon - especially for their poor environmental practices. read more

This place was horrible. The shellac manicure was done very poorly. My nails were not filed, they were rough, the gel was blotchy and there was gel left on the skin of my fingertips. I don't know the name of the person, but it was not Mary or Hannah. I will never come back here again read more

I had a very basic pedicure. Other than a short foot and leg massage, it was just take the old polish off and put the new polish on. Very marginal pedicure for a business that has become very competitive. I won't be back. There are too many other good salons that try much harder and deliver a better product. read more

yesterday I went in and got my nails done with a full acrylic set. It went okay, nothing special really stood out about it but it wasn't bad either, I guess it was average. A few hours after I left I somehow managed to chip my thumb. I went in today to get it fixed since polish should NOT chip after not even one day. The lady who did it was busy so she just did the basecoat and said the manager would put the finishing touches on my nails. I waited a bit while he worked on his clients nails. Eventually he got a bit of time and came over to start on mine. He asked me what I did for work and I said I worked at a veterinary clinic in the area. He kinda just nodded his head and went back over to his client to finish her nails before doing the top coat on my nails. When he came back over he very casually asked me, "Have you killed anyones pets recently?" I was stunned for a few seconds and realized I must have heard him wrong so I said pardon. Again he just said "have you killed anyones pets recently?" I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!! I said no ad got up and left. I went across the street to meet my father to go t dinner and just collapsed in the car and started crying. It was then I realized he also completely messed up my nails when my dad asked me if I was crying because of how badly my nails were messed up. I told him what happened and he actually went in to talk to the guy convinced I heard him wrong. He didn't even deny it and when I came in tears still streaming down my face he kinda chuckled but said sorry. Never coming back here again. who says stuff like that?!?!?!?! read more
