We apologies for losing track of time and asked her to give us 20 more mins. She came back in 20 mins and started yelling us and threaten us to call copes. I did not understand that she wanted to call copes because we were 20 mins late and we missed keeping two things in the car with in 20 mins. She asked us to leave the camp ground NOW!!!. Because she was losing patience on us. I am not sure we would like to ever go there. If you would like to enjoy and relax, I would prefer a private camp ground over this .We have been camping from ages and we never experienced such a ruthless and rude host. I recommend not to camp at this location and after reading others comments that it is not only us but she misbehaved with other campers too. I looked in the camp polices, there is no quotation which says that you have to be out by 11:00 PM or we are condemning any law and are allowed to threaten to call copes on us. There are so many rights in favor of rangers but none in favors of campers, which support that if host are rude and threaten unnecessary then where to report them. Do not book a stay at South Beach Gardens Campsite and RV Park in Penticton BC. You will be…read morerequired to make a substantial deposit which you will never get back if your plans change for any reason. I had booked for the requisite minimum 5 day tenting stay as a way to explore Penticton. I was considering moving there once I sell my current house. Unfortunately two days before my scheduled arrival all the routes from the lower mainland were compromised by out-of-control wildfires. Those same highways, by the way, were subsequently closed a few days later. I did not feel it was safe to travel into the interior under the circumstances. When I called, the woman in their office who answered said I could come up highway 97. Ridiculous. I would have to travel a fire compromised route just to get to highway 97. I was told no refund of my $250 was possible. I suggested this was quite the cash grab to which she responded that it was no such thing, they were a friendly family run business. I beg to differ. Theirs may be family run, but families can be corrupt. Their office phoned the night I was to arrive to ask if I was planning to arrive. I suspect they were preparing to rent out the site I had booked and paid a deposit for. This is called double dipping and seems to be a habit of theirs. There have been at least six similar complaints against this business in the past two years. The South Beach Gardens RV Park (often referred to as South Beach campground) in Penticton, BC, currently holds a C+ rating on the Better Business Bureau while the owners other business, Wrights Beach, holds a D- rating. There have been additional and numerous complaints about intrusive security guards, double booked sites, garbage, and filthy washrooms. My concern in this review, however, is their refund policy. I would very much like my $250 returned to me. I had offered to change my booking to later in September but was told that would require another deposit and I would still not get my original deposit back. Stay away from this business. The South Beach refund policy is simply an unethical cash grab. This is particularly the case when you look at the rigidity of the policy even in the face of extenuating circumstances.

They do offer a truck that drives around on Wednesdays but he's $25.00 and can really ruin a delicious breakfast if your neighbour decides he needs a dump. We highly recommend this 20 year plus local Penticton business for their caring, quick problem solving and extremely helpful service. They also have a great variety of sporting equipment to rent. There are a mix of different types of sites. Some are lakefront, some are Vinyard views, some are mountain view. We stayed on a ridge near the lake and were very happy with our site. Bathrooms were clean, meeting rooms were good, and the place was well-kept. We met a lot of nice people who suggested other places for us to hit on the rest of our journey. We would stay here again.

Locals are very friendly, welcoming and promote their community. Lots of wineries in the area for the adults, Penticton Canal is only a 10 minute drive away and the beach playground here is great for little ones as well as the public beach. IGA is a 2 minute walk, with lots of local produce. Great place to watch the sunset on the lake! Not a lot of non-seasonal sites and you have to book quite far in advance apparently for the beach sites.
