I've used this Postal Annex+ a few times, and it is the best postal service in the area. Fast, friendly service, and a good range of services. Most recently I needed documents notarized, and Postal Annex+ got it done in a jiff. It was also a lot less expensive than mobile services (which I've used in the past). In the past I've shipped packages no problem. The crew took care of everything. I'll definitively keep using this place! read more

I went to the Postal Annex this morning with 16 larger envelopes to mail and had no idea what the cost would be. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and I was able to complete my mailing plus bought additional stamps quickly with no wait. This location is clean all wore masks and used plexiglass where appropriate. Many other locations have long lines and are not as spacious as this location. Come by for your mailing needs. read more

What a great little place! Not only do they do the pack and ship scene, they also have all kinds of little gifts and items that I have not seen anywhere else. We have been using this place through two owners and watched the ebb and flow of changes. This works. Bottom line. My particulate favorite thing here is that they feature some artists' handmade cards for special and non-special occasions. Note: If you see something 5 months early, buy it now as it will be gone. The gentleman who runs the place is extremely nice. When busy, it can get a bit slow, but that is usually because a customer does not have a clue about what to do with a shipment and he really works had to come up with the best resolution for them. I have never been disappointed. I will be back again and again! read more

If you want to see what GREAT customer service looks like in action, hang out for a while at this store. It's not about "....here are our services, what can we do for you....". Instead , it's "....what do you need, and I'll do whatever I can to help you...." This place is awesome. Not only do they do a wide range of services like shipping, copying, faxing, notarizing all kinds of documents, etc., they also have lots of great unique gifts....handmade greeting cards with Hill Country and Austin images.....funky t-shirts and hats.... I'm a huge fan of small, locally owned businesses anyway, but this Postal Annex store does it right. DO NOT USE! If I could give negative stars I would. I sent 2 items with tracking and return receipts. I realized a week later, that the items were never mailed. The USPS confirmed that they were not received into their care and the intended location for delivery verified that they were not delivered, as well. The staff at Postal Annex, Jody, told me they were sent and they couldn't help further, I would have to call USPS, which I did. I asked for proof that they were picked up, she sent screen shots, that actually proved they were not picked up, just a label was made. I have started a USPS investigation and now have to start all over and pay more for overnighting somewhere else. If the situation is remedied on Postal Annex's side, I will update my review. At this time...go somewhere else with your business, you will have far less of a headache and hopefully better customer service if something does go sideways. read more

I've been several times, the gentleman is nice but doesn't employ anyone to help him when there is more than 1 person needing assistance. I have been here twice now in two days and loved my experience so much! I will be using them from now on. The customer service is wonderful, there hasn't been any wait (even in this busy season) and the pricing is normal. This Annex reminds me of all the mom & pop postal places i used to go to with my mom in New Braunfels. They sell cute lil items from teacher gifts to cards. This mom and pop shop is so quaint, and the people are so sweet, just can't help but like it. :) Went by to grab some non-postal item related chachki's and realized they have so many goodies, it's great for a quick gift for a friend or relative. I scoured the south Austin area for a notary who would notarize a form for me. All notaries would just give some lame excuses about why they can't notarize the document i have. I stopped at the banks where i had an account, UPS stores, but no one would do it.. I came in this office and the owner (?) just looked the documents over quickly and had no problem notarizing it for me. Great and friendly service, will be back! read more

Okay. So there are many reasons why I frequent P.A. #1 - Ease of use. Although it isn't ideal to get in and out of the shopping center at the Y at Oak Hill, it is he only postal center near the Y that offers the following, (the best thing about P.A.): Their competitive price check, as I call it. These gals will weigh your package, and show you the options - all of them, and show you the price + ETD and let YOU choose. No hidden costs, not like the chains where they quote only their price (UPS, FedEx, USPS). I always leave feeling like I got the best deal on shipping - yea! #2 - Parking. There is always a spot in front, which make sup for the congestion at the intersection. #3 - If I need a gift in a pinch, for anyone, hey have a wide variety of "fillers" to round out your package or to pick up in a pinch. #4 - Maybe should be close to number one, although... So Number four is the complete kindness of the ladies and gents in this shop. (Are there gents??? I don't know, haven't seen any, but if there are, I don't want to exclude them...) They are super sweet and very approachable, friendly folks. And here is the drawback - Efficiency. This is my only hesitation about frequenting this establishment. Some of the employees are so very slow, the transactions take an eternity. I'm can't tell really if it's in regards to the POS transactions, or the chatter, or the whole process -- but rest assured, every time i get back in the car my husband rolls his eyes and comments on how long it took. I dare say even the Post Office would be quicker. However, I keep coming back. Even with the extra time per transaction - it sure beats the experience at the Post Office!!! :))) read more

I went in there yesterday mail some packages. The man who owns the store (I think) is the sweetest person I have ever met in my life. I have my almost 2 year old with me, she picked up a little doll in the store and was playing with it. When it was time to leave I told her to give it back to him. He just looked at the price tag and then let her keep it! Who does that? I will never go anywhere else to mail things. They have my business for life! I usually come to Postal Annex when I need to package/ship things because I live down the street, but today, I had an exceptionally wonderful experience! Howard was extremely friendly and helpful while meticulously packing several boxes for me. As I was caring in my boxes, he noticed my small dog was waiting in the car and asked me if I would like to bring her inside while I waited. When I first moved to this area of town, this postal service location was my favorite to go too! The ladies that work there are so nice and fast! It was easy every time! The last few times I have stopped here there has been a grumpy young man working there! For years I maintained a mailing address at a series of UPS stores. Their customer service became worse and worse and the store owners always blamed corporate policies and said their hands were tied when their business decisions always ended up making things inconvenient and difficult for their customers. The last location had such an unpleasant vibe with such stressed out employees, I dreaded picking up my mail. Then we moved to Austin and I took a chance on this store even though I had never heard of "Postal Annex" before. I met Howard and liked him immediately. He is always friendly and cheerful no matter how busy the store is. No one scolds me about how many packages I receive, which is good, because I receive a lot since I do most of my shopping online. My children like to browse the interesting Austin-oriented merchandise. Parking is easy and convenient. I am definitely pleased that I am doing business with this Postal Annex - I highly recommend this store. read more

I've been coming here for years, but lately I've been going to the Postmark'd down the street at Escarpment & Slaughter, simply because it is next door to Starbucks. Every time I go in that store, the old man behind the counter is so rude, then I swear I will never return, but then the next time I want coffee and need to ship something I find myself back in there, but then I encounter that man and quickly wish that I'd gone down the street to Postal Annex. The women who work here are as sweet-as-pie. No request is too big or small for them. They don't have a hissy fit if you forget to tape up your box, they will give you the cheapest shipping option available (even if that means them suggesting you go to the dreaded USPS) and they are patient and kind to my 3 year old. They clearly love their jobs and I will not be returning to the other place again. read more

Incompetent notary. Go in to get paperwork notarized and she looks over the materials and then pulls out her book and fills out all of the information. Tells me to sign the forms. Then she decides she isn't able to notarize. No explanation. I can understand if a notary won't notarize something which she isn't comfortable with for any reason and I would not blame her for that. But to first review documents and then instruct someone to sign them and ONLY THEN say they won't notarize is just plain incompetence. Now I've wasted all kinds of time and effort because I can't even try another notary since this one instructed me to sign the docs and now they are ruined. read more

I had been going to this store for almost 20 years. The ladies working there were always helpful, kind and competent. Went in this morning and I was shocked at the bad treatment that I received. I waited my turn in line and when the man (long blonde hair) started to help me someone walked in behind me. He started a lengthy discussion with her regarding why she was there (she needed a mailbox), as he was attempting to type my label. He was barely typing now and obviously could not do both things at once, so after several minutes, I stepped to the side and he looked at me strangely. I said I want to make sure my label is typed correctly and you cannot help me and talk to her at the same time. Then the customer he was talking with and another customer began to defend him saying he gives great service. I said maybe to you but not to me I am being ignored while he focuses on your needs. I said I will take my business to the Oak Hill Post Office. He then said he hopes I am safe today. I turned and said the same thing and he looked shocked. I walked back in the store and said, look I'm not trying to be rude but you totally stopped helping me to talk to her. I've tried calling to complain to a manager or owner but just get answering machine. Poor service. read more
