The FedEx store in Sunset Valley - Austin, Texas offers excellent customer service - very helpful staff.

This review is specifically for FedEx delivery. Whoever the regular driver is for our neighborhood delivers all of the packages for every neighbor to one house. He or she chooses the house at random, and most of the time none of the packages are for the residents at that address. We end up delivering each others' packages. This isn't a one-time occurrence, it's EVERY delivery. FedEx conveniently doesn't provide any means of feedback, nor do they ever ask for a service review. Clearly, this type of behavior for their drivers is acceptable to them. I have stopped ordering from vendors who use FedEx delivery whenever possible. However, this isn't always an option. I report to every vendor who uses FedEx how awful their delivery services are, and hopefully the vendors will stop using them. The value for FedEx service is less than zero. I hope the powers that be somehow get this review and take action. This may just be one rogue driver who isn't being reported. He or she dumps packages and speeds away from our neighborhood so quickly that no one has been able to get a good look at them. read more

I walked in with my computer, my phone, and the connection cord in my hand. They simply wanted to print one document. After several system, failures and two different employees walking away in the middle of the project to do something else I realized I had wasted my time. The level of incompetency was high and my frustration peaking. Older Hispanic lady with long brown hair is pretty miserable with her life based on her behavior. It's strange that I've repeatedly returned packages from the same vendor with the same label and haven't had a problem before. I'm shipping something to China and have to respect the weight limit or else I pay the difference. Instead of giving me the lightweight bag I am always given, she insisted on using a heavy box to ship the lightweight item, even though it put me at half a pound over the weight limit. I politely and timidly asked if I could get the lightweight bag I typically get because it's going to China and I don't want to pay the difference and she got annoyed. The prepaid label includes the cost of the return packaging as well so I'm unsure why it bothered her so much, it's not as if I was asking for a favor or a free bag. I asked for my stuff back, apologized for being difficult in case I upset her with my presence, and left. In search of a new FedEx :( read more

This location is totally unprofessional, employees need more training. "Not Good" is still overrated, negative stars, would be more appropriate. My wife was totally disappointed and crying when opening the package. The claim on the website: "Have something fragile? No packing materials on hand? Short on time? Bring it to us. We have packing experts at 2,000+ locations." So, shipping a few boxes of some personal memories should not have been a problem, right? While $600 for packing and ground shipping was not a bargain, at least we figured that this buys us some piece of mind! After all, packing is not rocket-science, nor would you need a degree to be good. We did not expect perfection, but we did not believe our eyes when we opened up the package. Is this how professional packing nowadays looks like? Damaged photos, CDs, tapes - looks worse than a recycle bin - and any recycling company would have done a better job! We understand that anyone can make mistakes, but in this case, the employees clearly did not care - not at all! And of course, since these were personal items, this hurts even more. Needless to say, no matter what, we will avoid that store in future. As a note: In general, we had overwhelmingly good experiences at other FedEx locations - and most of them have figured out how to pack properly (like FedEx office at JW Marriott Austin 110 E 2nd St.) or many other locations. read more

Shipping is undeniably unreliable these days for obvious reasons, but at least all my packages still got delivered. I used FedEx twice within the last 6 months. The first time was back in September 2021 when I spent $128 for overnight shipping for some perishable mooncakes to get to California. It was delivered 3 days later! There was no weather obstacles that I could see, so it was just some unknown factor that no one from FedEx could shed some light. Calling the number requesting for an update or any info was basically calling a black hole. ‍ Even so, I didn't request for a refund because I didn't want to go through more time wasting hassles. Consider this a donation to our hard working labor market. The second shipping experience went a lot smoother since my expectation was close to zero. Low hanging fruit. I shipped something none perishable or breakable to Atlanta and opted for the cheapest delivery option, and it was delivered right on time. EVEN under the threat of the recent Mammoth Storm named Landon. Shipped on 2/1; delivered on 2/3. HOWEVER, the tracking link said it would be delayed until 2/5. Weird. I'd say their tracking accuracy is 50%. Both times I used the service, the link provided inaccurate tracking info. Nevertheless, I'd still use FedEx for shipping in the future. It seems there are no better options. Again, I'm thankful for the essential workers. read more

My experience here was fine but they ended up shipping my package to the wrong location in Dallas which then was lost... after two months they gave me a refund but I'd rather stick with USPS.. it's not worth the headache and all of the lost supplies. I would never ship with FEDEX again. read more

I needed to mail package for work but my shipping label was paused due to the Austin bomber in my area. This was the store he mailed the two packages from. A few days after it was all over I got my shipping label and headed off to this store. I have never been inside here for mostly use the UPS Store for work. I walked in to find the place much larger than imagined and stood in a short line. I was next and since my package already had a label the FedEx employee just thanked me an took it. In looking around it looks like they provide other office services in seeing a bunch of different types of printers. Anyway the staff was nice and friendly, and will remember this place the next time I need to mail an important letter or package. read more

So we decided to beat the holiday rush and we took our packages over to FedEx. I didn't realize that they couldn't take packages wrapped in brown paper ( FYI only in the natural box). We were assisted by the assistant manager Ken and I can't praise him enough for how super helpful he was to us. He helped us to consolidate two of our packages into one box. Very detailed oriented and informative. You may pay a little more, but I was very satisfied with my experience and glad I missed the long lines elsewhere. read more

I had a client leave his laptop in airport & had to overnight it for him. Got a quote from USPS for $89 & it was gonna be a Monday/Tuesday delivery being Thursday Eve. I went to FedEx on Friday. Did guarantee overnight & paid $240 . Needed it there ASAP. It was before noon on Friday & had all weekend to get there! WRONG. I get a text Tuesday am from client that laptop STILL not there. I went to the branch to get assistance & the girl was like uhmmm it's in Memphis ? Why is it there? Apparently that's a main hub & no claim for refund can be started until POD??? So I have to now wait another week for refund of a FAILED GUARANTEE? I call this am which is now 2 weeks later & FEDEX is denying the claim because of weather in Memphis? Apparently in small print on their website GUARANTEE IS NOT BACKED IF INCLEMENT WEATHER. Are you serious? Then they need to connect a weather app to their site & let ppl know. Shame on you for taking $240 on a service that the PO quoted $90 you were late & 3xmore $ Terrible service & no ownership. I could've hopped a plane for this amount. I use Fedex once a year to send the same items to the same person. And this is the second time that I made the mistake of using this location. A Fedex envelope listed as 0.5 was changed by this location to 1 lb. Fedex telephone personal could do nothing as the person at this location changed the weight of the envelope. Friendly staff - very helpful. Haven't been to a FedEx place in a long time; I had to oddly fax a document to the IRS and the lady assisted me with no judgment. I had a couple of large boxes to send for Christmas. With plenty of time, I was looking for the most economical route. Fedex was my first choice, so I went to their website to estimate how much it would cost. My first box was 10x14x10, weighing 13 lbs. According to the Fedex website, $23.76 was the cost to ship. My second box was 18x18x16, only 9 pounds and would cost $17.01 to ship. I thought these costs were reasonable, so I checked no further and got myself to the closest Fedex office. Can you imagine my shock when the agent told me that the first box would cost about $33 to ship and the second box would cost $76! So, rather than the original total estimated cost of $40.77, the actual cost was over $109! That's a 167% miscalculation! That's outrageous! I asked the agent how it was fair for the Fedex website to be so grossly in error. Of course, he completely begged off the question claiming he was new on the job. I took my packages to their competition for delivery. Their cost was more than Fedex's original estimated cost but their website's estimated cost was 'identical' to their actual cost to ship. I find the Fedex website's shipping cost calculator defective at best, deceptive and dishonest at worst. This negative review is not specifically for the Brodie store but for Fedex overall. When you encounter great customer service you don't easily forget that. That was my experience when I walked in this week to have some color copies made. Each and every time I go in there I can't remember how to use their equipment and most of the time it's because it's changed. I can tell you for fact that I was greeted warmly and Amber and Maddie took care of me as if I were their favorite customer. They helped me pick out the right paper for what I needed and printed out a sample to make sure I was happy with the quality of work. Then they tell you to use the self service machines which rarely ever work and if you ask for assistance they act annoyed or leave you waiting for another 10 plus mins. If I had thirty minutes to live....I'd consider spending it at this Kinko's. So it would *feel* longer. Holy 'where is the manual' crap. Ok, so, I don't own this business, and I can't proclaim to have some sort of intimate idea as to how they train folks, and believe me, I'm kinda hoping I'm wrong, but is massive malaise in the manual? I'll give you a hypothetical scenario: dude walks in. Dude asks for help at the counter. Seventeen people dressed identically appear to be discussing the weekend. I'm not assuming that always happens, or that it even happens more than less. Only that I've seen it in person, and my guess, albeit as someone not privy to the manual...is that it'd be okay for the people in the shirts to occasionally engage those of us with the quick-flip print jobs. Staff helpful, and self service is super easy! Most recently I had to copy a million and one receipts and was just going to drop them off. The staff encouraged me to try self serve to save myself time and money. Indeed, the machine was easy to do and I was done in no time and saved a ton of money. On another visit I wanted to print and bind a manual for a seminar. I sent the file over in the morning and it was ready that afternoon. FedEx Office on Brodie Lane has bailed me out twice in the past two weeks, and I appreciate it 100%. Forget everything you knew about Kinko's, aka PopCopy ("Hell yeah, I suck toes"). The staff here is knowledgeable and friendly. Never once have I had to go behind the counter to show them which file to print, when there is only one pdf on the drive. If you aren't in super-emergency-mode, use the online service. It's a little clunky after a redesign, but you can upload, preview and pay for your job, then pick it up a couple hours later. It's usually done before the schedule says, and the Brodie Park location is also good about sending an email or calling when your job is done. read more
