Grumpy guys. Not welcoming. Not helpful. Seems like a straightforward job to take a 3x3 square file and set it up to print six on a page. But their printers apparently can't do that. Easy to do at home. But not possible on their professional machines. This was curtly and unapologetically told to me three times as if I was an idiot for asking when I questioned it. Go figure. Left feeling disenchanted. I even sought this place out thinking it would be a nice local, friendly, charming, small business to support. Wrong. Guess I'll try FedEx. read more

I debated on whether to leave an honest review of this company and its services. In the end, I think it's important for future customers that I share my experience. I recently submitted an online print order, uploading two separate files, with instructions to print one color of one and a black & white copy of the other one. When I arrived the following day to pick them up, I received a color and black & white copy of one file. When I alerted the owner(?) to this error, he curtly printed a color copy of the correct file and charged me for it. Because I was on a time crunch for class, along with his demeanor being inhospitable, I paid and left. It was when I was met with the surly attitude that I remembered that I'd used their services in the past. As an out gay man, I think it's important to support local LGBT-owned businesses. However, if establishments like this one are going to be hostile, it would be beneficial to post a notice on their door and/or web site, alerting potential customers on who is welcome and who is not. read more

I had to change printers for my Napa winery business cards due to my printers retirement. When I approached Printing Palace for a quote I was told by Eli that this is a VERY expensive card and he could explore a similar card at a greatly reduced rate. Imagine that! He wanted to save me money. My card was not only printed but also engraved. He had to match not only two colors but also a textured paper. He did so perfectly. I literally can't say enough good things about this place. To start off, the prices are SO reasonable. It was only $6 more to up my order from 500 postcards to 1000 AND they were double sided! The 2 owners are a combination of professional and super fun, they joke around but at the same time still handle transactions professionally and even asked if I wanted the invoice under my name or a business name. I was told 3-5 business days, dropped them off on a Monday and got to pick them up by Thursday! Thank you for being so prompt! Not to mention, they looked EXACTLY how I imagined them to, perfect coloring and everything! Wow. If you need a simple print job, DO NOT come here. They have a $5 minimum, so even if your job actually costs 10 cents, they will charge $5. I called Printing Palace in hopes of making good use out of outdated company lettereheard by turning them into notepads. I called, and the person was friendly, quoted me a reasonable price, and sent someone out to pick the letterhead up the next day.... 2 WEEKS GO BY and no notepads. When I called to inquire about the order status, the guy said, "Oh they are on the working station and not on the delivery station, that's why they weren't delivered. I'll send them out today. BYE," and hung up. No, apologies; no nothing. The next morning, I receive a call from someone at a business down the street saying that they had my notepads. When I walked over to retrieve them myself, I noticed that they had actually turned out nicely, but they didn't use all of the materials I asked them to use AND they charged me way more than they quoted me. I've dealt with a couple of other bad printing companies, but this one in terms of customer service, attention to detail, and follow-through is by far THE WORST. read more

Do not go to this place! They are completely unprofessional and unapologetic. I thought I would help out small business in the area and have some posters printed. I walked in the store and immediately got attitude. They didn't even ask what type of paper stock I wanted! The next morning I called and they lost my job ticket! The probably wouldn't have run the job at all if I hadn't called them. When I went back to pick up the posters there was no apology at all. They had the job rolled up and didn't even show it to me to see if I approved of the work! I requested a discount and he best they could was 10% off. Never again will I use this place. I used to go to these guys when they were on Wilshire, and I was happy when they moved farther south on Lincoln, between Ocean Park and Pico. Their script printing prices are close to the best in town (3.5 cents a page for three-hole punch paper, no minimum and no limit) and they are always unfailingly polite, helpful, efficient, and friendly. I have had dozens of projects done by them and have been happy with them every time. Most recently, I had some change of address cards printed for my grandmother - I ordered a hundred and they pointed out that I could have 500 for just $26, tax included, so bam - now, we've got change of address cards to last her a lifetime! I did it all by email and phone - the order, the layout, the payment - and they called me the instant it was ready. I worry a little bit about them since they've moved out of the high-rent district of downtown Santa Monica, because they're sort of in a bit of a dead zone where there aren't a lot of like businesses. They deserve to flourish, dang it! They do everything right, they provide good customer service, and they're cheap - everything a customer could want from a printer. There's plenty of street parking where they are now, and there are a few free places in back, and for all you writers out there (and you're Yelpin', so I know that you're writers, whether you admit it or not), they might just be worth a trip out to Santa Monica... read more

They cannot follow simple instructions like "please call me when my order is ready" or "please don't mix up my papers." When confronted, these employees just stared at me. Truly a Cinderella story of sorts. I came in a messy bride-to-be, and left an empress with a boatload of wedding invite extras (RSVP cards). Not only did they quote an amazing price, but the printing was super quality (all the tiny 19th century detailing came out, as well as the QR codes). Plus, my fiance and I were thinking I'd be lucky if I could get everything in 3 days. Larry at Printing Palace said "No, just come on by tomorrow." And I fainted. When I came to, he said "Actually, if you just want to hang out for 20 minutes, we can have it done by then." And I fainted again. Then my RSVP cards were ready. Larry is truly a printing prince! I used printing palace to print our save the dates, our menu cards, escort cards, table numbers and many other things. I found a glossy card stock and they were so nice about it and charged me less money for copies, they also cut things in the size I wanted for $20, which is priceless really. Not having to cut each escort card or being able to print two to a page was much more time and cost effective. I've worked with Eli and have had a great working relationship with him, you can email a file and you can go see a proof and done. They process the orders very quickly. read more

This is by far the best print place. I am a family law attorney and my image and reputation are very important to me. I needed letterhead, envelopes and business cards. I went to printing palace to get all of that done and they delivered with high quality. I even forgot to add my email address to the sample I sent them of my business card and they gave me a whole new set at no additional charge. I really do highly recommend them to anyone. So this review is sole based on my experience over the phone. As I have a regular sized printer that covers my daily needs I turned to Printing Palace for help with a larger (A2) print. upon request I was told that they do NOT carry coloured paper, which is fair, they are a print-, not a print and paper shop (even though selling decent paper should be considered a decent idea in a time when most people don't need a "pro" for everyday prints). (SO If you need a letter size print then please support your local library. They do colour prints too and best of all they contribute to the community without over charging). The guy had never heard of A sizing, seriously, it might be ok for a waiter, car salesman, but a printshop employee, you got to be kidding me. That is just pure laziness. (Learn about the genius of A sizes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_size). It was however fine for me to bring my own colured paper, but it would still be $40. FORTHY dollars - to print a few black lines on a paper that I had to bring myself. "We actually do have a very advanced four colour printer". This is a great neighborhood spot. The owner/manager, John is a really kind guy that helped us out with some scanning/faxing that we had to do for the IRS. It was a stressful situation for us and he made the experience really easy and was also very sweet to our baby. We've used their services for other personal print jobs (we don't have a printer) and they've always been kind, easy and quick.
