For Amazon return drop-offs, this location is great -- quick, easy to scan a label, you're in and out quickly. Printing a label to mail your own packages is a different story -- my printer was broken this morning, and I learned the hard way that this UPS location charges $3 to print out a label in-store, which is outrageous, when the Santa Monica Library down the street prints for $0.15 (if I had known ahead of time, I would have gone to the library). Why should I have to pay to print a label to mail something through your service when I'm paying for your service already? Will continue to make Amazon drop offs here, but will likely turn to FedEx and USPS for better value from now on. read more

I am very happy with the 5th Street UPS location! I have been coming here ever since it opened 2 years ago & they are always professional and helpful. The only thing I don't like is the parking situation. It is only metered street parking so I tend to walk here instead of drive. I am at your store at least three or four times a week and ship UPS ground products that go too many states. I already have the boxes and I insert the shipping label inside the box and take it out at your store to be placed properly. There is only one end of the box that needs taping, and each time both of your employees have charged me one dollar per box to tape up one end of a box. I bring the packages 3/4 taped up already. Also, your staff do not properly greet your customers, if you don't believe me, walk into the FedEx store around the corner on Wilshire and see the difference. I patronize UPS because they have a great delivery service and packages arrive in very good condition. Somehow, the problem seems to be at your store. At no time does your competitor, FedEx ever charge me to partially tape the boxes I ship with them. Also, the staff at FedEx is extremely welcoming, friendly, with no attitude, and have no problem, taping one end of the box without charging. I am disappointed in your service. I've used the UPS to drop off any returns I have already in prepaid labels. There's usually street parking available, it's clean, and I have not had to wait in line. Simple & quick! Susie at the counter is friendly! read more

Overall a convenient location for me. All the staff I've encountered are very nice and very helpful. The store is a little on the smaller side of most ups stores and it does get pretty hot in the store when waiting in a line, I think the A/C is either off or put at a minimal setting. But still overall this place gets the job done and will continue to keep going here read more

The only reason why I come here is because of its convenience. Most of the people who work there are unfriendly AF. You say hi to them and they just stare back at you. If you hate working there, go find another job - especially one of the guys who's always there. read more

I was serviced by a young man named Adam. He was extremely condescending and rude. I had to read this long agreement on the screen that feltlike it almost felt like a contract and I have a learning disability and plus I've never gotten used to going that fast and it just seems so complicated. So it took me a long time to read it. Then while I'm reading before I sign something on the screen he's talking to me and I am not able to get information with him talking and trying to read that. My brain just can't do that. So I mentioned him if he could wait until I finish reading this and then he said something condescending I don't remember exact words but with a very condescending voice he said why don't you listen to what I say and then read it? But just so impatiently and condescending. I mentioned to him that since we're in different generations that I grew up when things were much slower and the fast pace and all the information I have to read is very difficult for me. He proceeded to try to have an argue with him and with me in regards to what I said he says it's not difficult you just do this you do that and I said I disagree but I don't want to have an argument. But he kept pushing the issue and would not stop arguing with me. And I didn't want to argue so I didn't. And I said I don't want to argue. He said this is not an argument this is a discussion. He wanted to be right. I said I don't want to be part of this discussion just do what you need to do so I can get out of here. Before I left I told him exactly what I thought and let him know that his condescending behavior will be reported to a supervisor. He laughed! What a brat. And I did report him, Her name is Susie and she listened to me and got all the information. Actually I'm thinking of never going to go back there again. I don't need some smart alec kid who wants to be right and wants to hold to an argument with someone that is a customer and deserves to be treated right. read more

I normally don't say anything unless there is something egregious, like the predatory practices I experienced at this location. Horrible service with unreasonable fees. They wanted to charge me $825 for storing my packages, 55 1.5lb packages, 8x6x4 each. When I complained I was told I can't get my packages back unless I pay. So they cut me a break if I pay $500 cash. $825 credit card or $500 cash at a UPS store? Really? If you are able, avoid this shop at all costs. Take your packages to a different location. And if you don't want to be charged unreasonable fees for deliveries this is not your location. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews unless this staff is new since the fall. Very last minute (yesterday), I called to see if this location had a notary public. It did. Suzette was exceptional in every way: professional, knowledgeable, kind, patient. I had many papers for her to review related to a condo sale in FL. In no time, she identified what they were, where I needed to sign, and added an appropriate CA addendum to each. Earlier that day, I had an appt. at a local bank. The comparison was glaring. The woman there was distant, chilly, not as helpful ... told me she couldn't continued signing anything after 30 minutes, the reason I had to move on to another notary. Other staff at this shop were equally helpful and pleasant. I wish all service shops were as welcoming and efficient. read more

The customer service at this location was awful. You could tell that the older gentlemen working the front desk did not want to be there. He was extremely rude and unhelpful when I came by to pick up a package. I went back on two separate occasions during the same day to pick up the package once it said it was ready to be picked up and he deliberately gave attitude and told me to "be patient" and come back in an hour. I understand that maybe he was having an overwhelming day with orders, but that is no reason to be rude to a customer. I was very kind to him but was met with a negative response back. DO NOT under any circumstance use this store to receive a UPS Package! I was sent one, and was not made aware of the date of arrival. They did not call me, and when I finally checked to see if it had arrived, it had, and I was charged $10 a day for storage, totaling $170! When I asked, why they hadn't called me (my number was on the address), the staff person, Suzy (who turned out to be the manager), rudely responded, "we do not do that". Of course they don't; they are more interested in keeping the storage fees as a profit center, as opposed to rendering a good service! I recommend using either USPS or FedEx, both of which will store the item until it is delivered, without charging a fee! I refused the package, and it will be returned to the merchant, who was also appalled at this situation and will seek an other shipper in the future, and will either refund my purchase or re-ship it for free. They at least, are a business, who understand what service is. UPS and this particular franchise to not. When I asked if I could speak to the owner, Andrew, about this, Suzy told me she could not give out his contact information; he only comes to the store rarely. BEST TO AVOID THIS BUSINESS! read more
