Please don't go here. You will have a very hard time getting your prescriptions refilled (even after calling multiple times), and you will not be able to contact your medical providers directly. The front staff are inept at best, and unless you are okay with not having your medication for weeks, you can do better. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

Worst psychiatric care I've ever experienced. I came here as I've been seeing a therapist in another state and relocated. He recommended a screening for one thing, and the new psychiatrist here completely ignored it. She was quick to offer to load me up on medications for my past issues that are now currently well managed, and was only interested in treating what she wanted to treat rather than listening to the information being provided to her. After a couple of different medications that did nothing for the symptoms for which I sought her out, I scheduled with another provider. He then cancelled my appointment at the minute it was scheduled (without any notice) and without even bothering to find out why I was even seeking a different provider. The front staff couldn't even get ahold of him so my entire morning was jumbled. Absolutely rotten provider communication. The front office staff is some of the best I've interacted with, but the clinical staff needs an overhaul. read more

The worst primary UNICARING PHYSICIAN in Arizona that I've had in the 20 years living in AZ. I am a disabled person in pain daily and I went to see Krystal Cherapan in March 2018 for referrals to specialists that I never received, that I called and sent messages through their portal both avenues led nowhere. Once I did get a response I was FORCED to come see them again for the EXACT SAME REFERRALS, I can only deduct this was to get another office visit payment. At this appointment I was told by the office manager that when Kyrstal Cherapan purchased the practice my plan was no longer accepted without prior authorazation because they were denied by the insurance carrier. Which I would be able to understand if at my first visit I wasn't told that because I was an existing patient I could continue being seen there. So today I go for an appointment they made me come to and I left with NO REFERRALS AND THE DOCTOR REFUSED TO SIGN MY MVD HANDICAP FORM and on file she has more than enough records to justify signing to get another plaque that had expired in between the time I was trying to get my referral from her. In a nutshell this so called primary UNCARING physician had a disabled client come in to the office twice and did not help or provide adequate medical service, she does not represent the western standard doctor ethics and should never see patients again with this UNCARING ATTITUDE. I WOULDN'T TAKE A HOUSE PLANT TO THIS CLINIC ANY LONGER. For the past 18 months, I have suffered tremendous hip and sciatica pain. I saw my orthopedist and he said nothing was wrong with my hip, to just take ibuprofen to manage the pain, which did nothing. Fortunately, when I saw Krystal Cherapan, NP, she immediately recognized my problem as nerve pain. She had me have X-Rays to rule out any structural issues. They showed no physical problem. Krystal prescribed Gabapenten, a nerve pain medicine, and I am now feeling far, far better. I am able to sleep through the night, play with my grand-daughter and enjoy life again. I can never thank Krystal enough. read more

I would not recommend this place. I have been waiting for a refill for the past 10 days, I have not heard back from the doctor. I have been calling the office every day checking up and the only response I get is 'we will talk to the doctor and get back to you'. I have wrote the doctor many emails and have not heard back. I've been a patient of Dr Ellison's for about 35 years. I understand things change and people move on but my experience today was horrible. I arrived at 10:30, 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment as noted on the window. I wasn't taken to the back office until 11:15. None of my personal or medical history had been transferred to their new system. After having my blood pressure, weight and pulse taken I was left to wait. At noon I walked out of the examining room to find out that Krystal (PA) how I had a 10:45 appointment was having lunch. Needless to say I left and I'm looking for a new Dr. I won't be going back read more

Found a new Dr but what I don't understand is how she is still in business with all these bad reviews. My experiences are too many bad ones and water under the bridge. Horrible communications from this medical office. They shut down the old office and opened a much smaller one without even notifying patients. I was a patient with Dr. Ellison for over 20 years and he was good, but he is no longer with this office. There seems to be high turnover of medical professionals here. They newer doctors are pleasant enough but patients cannot expect follow-up requests to be handled correctly. Right now I cannot even get a phone call to connect to the front office. read more

Losing Dr Ellison is very sad. I read all these reviews and have my own horror story as well, but it is actually very comical. After sitting in the exam room for over an hour, and it was obvious the practice was clearing out for the day, my husband and I pretty much figured we had been stuck in this room and forgotten. That was exactly the case. So....to get attention I called the office to schedule an appointment from the exam room and let the gal know we had been forgotten. I highly recommend Advanced Medical !! , they have 3 providers one of them is a psych . The staff is so compassionate and wait times are very short . I've been going here for years . The place got a completed makeover and looks and feels really nice . I go there for primary care as well . They have an in house phlebotomists she draws my blood for wellness exams yearly , which makes is very convenient. One stop shop !! They are just really nice people and they really care about there patience . It's a breath of fresh air !!! I'm not one to write reviews but this place deserves it !! read more

Dr.Jen was so sweet and explained everything in terms that I totally could understand unlike some doctors that tell you all this stuff you literally do not understand what so ever. I've never had a doctor's office that treated the patients so poorly. The staff is rude and give you an attitude for general questions. I've gone there 3 times since December and each time seems like I'm a huge hassle for the staff. They need to hire more people as it's evident that there are not enough people there, which is completely ridiculous to me to begin with since they are never open. Office hours are 7-3 but closed over lunch for an hour and no nights or weekends. My previous doctor left the office I used to go to and that's the only reason I changed, it's apparent that I will be continuing to look for another doctor. The latest visit I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time, no pleasantries - just shown the room where they took my vitals and I was met by the practitioner who took 2 minutes to read my blood results (could have been done via phone) and then left and had a prescription written. The prescription confused the pharmacist and couldn't be released to me until someone clarified at the doctor's office. I called and was put on hold the first time and bounced around for awhile until I was told the woman who wrote the script wasn't in and I had to wait until the following day. You're telling me no one can tell me about my prescription there? Are there no other professionals in the office qualified? The following day I called back since it was apparent no one was going to take the initiative to call me and I sat on hold for almost an HOUR. Unacceptable. It's unfortunate that this is happening and I am shocked this office is even open. read more

I had an appointment today at 8:30am, I was asked to show up at 7:45am to complete my new patient information. I arrived early as requested but didn't get my actual paperwork to fill out until 15 min before my scheduled appointment (why have someone show up 45 min before their appointment if you are going to delay giving them the paperwork?). After completing the paperwork, I continue to sit in the waiting room for another 45 minutes before I was called up to the front to only be asked question about information that was ask to be completed on the forms. After his additional questions, he said I was the next to be called. After waiting another 15 mins, I was finally called back at 9:29am, an entire hour after my designated appointment. When I finally get back into the patient room, my appointment took another hour to be completed. I have never in my life had an experience like this at a dr. office. They were apologetic, but they should really communicate to their patients that they need to block out three hours of their day in order to have an appointment here. Needless to say, I was extremely late for work and left feeling so frustrated about my experience. They said it was their new technology, but I don't think new technology should keep you from being called an entire hour after your scheduled appointment. I am very disappointed in my experience here. read more

Krystal Cherapan provided care to me after Dr. Ellison supposedly retired. I haven't been to this location in years and one day it just hit me like a ton of bricks. Krystal is by no means a bad person, but if she thinks you've done something wrong or tried to take advantage of the system in any way she's going to take control of the situation and completely cut off your medications. It turned out the pharmacy had made a mistake with my refill - which the pharmacist admitted to her - but in the meantime she made me come into the office every day to complete a UDS without giving me a prescription(for 4 days!). She didn't trust anything I was saying nor did she meet with me. I was very sick. I had to speak with front office staff who were also confused as to why I kept coming in only to be turned away day after day. I got past the event and decided to change providers but needed some time to find a replacement addiction specialist. I had to get a letter basically ending my care at the office in order to take it to a new provider. I came in the day before my last appointment to request the letter be provided to me on the day of my appointment. On the day of the appointment the office told me Krystal wouldn't see me because I was no longer receiving care at the office. It turns out the front office staff who wrote the letter dated it for the day I came in and not the following day of my appointment. Their policy is that you cannot receive treatment after requesting a closure letter. I tried in every possible way I could to explain this was a clerical error and that I wouldn't request to stop seeing them the day before my scheduled appointment. Krystal wouldn't listen to the front office staff and the person who wrote the letter wasn't in. Again, Krystal wouldn't speak with me and left the front office to defend the indefensible. It was the most bizarre incident I've ever experienced. Overall I think Krystal is a talented provider. But you'd be surprised how easy it is to fall out of her good graces. I've been off Suboxone for a year now and am thankful no doctor has this kind of control over my mental and physical health anymore. If you experience problems you're better off finding a private pay suboxone doctor for like $150 a month. I went from this office to Addiction Navigators and not only did they give me the medication dosage I asked for - I was able to get off the medication within a matter of months with zero issue. The difference between private pay and using insurance is enormous! Overall: two stars because I received excellent care under Dr. Ellison but since he isn't there anymore YMMV. read more

Worst physician ever...gave them insurance info when I made the appt. got to my appt. on time, filled out all of the paperwork. Submit it to the staff only to have her tell me they don't accept my insurance. Then she says I can pay for the exam and they will submit the cost to my insurance company. I leave, go home, get on my member's plan and WOW look who is on it, this doctor. Thank you for wasting my time! read more

These people are awful. They do not pay attention to insurance providers and left me with a $3,000.00 lab bill. They could not get my prescriptions right and did not appear to care that they did not get them right. They declined my prescriptions and would not tell me why they would not allow refills. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

We've been patients for over 15 years...checking in today, we were turned away. The lady said we were late! We were supposed to be there 15 minutes prior. They rescheduled my mother for later that day...get this...when we went back, they told me I was supposed to check in at 12:05 for a 12:20 appointment. I asked what they were talking about, and was I not loud enough when I replied, when I was there earlier, "so, I need to be here at 1:45 for my 2:00 appointment...will that make everyone happy?" She just snickered, like she remembered now, but still denied it, and even the staff said they heard me say the 12:20. They proceeded to tell me they were going to squeeze us in...wonder why??? Could it be because how I responded during the first visit, about making everyone happy? I wonder...already looking into a different Dr. The practice has really gone down since all the old staff was replaced. They don't let you know when the Dr you have an appointment with isn't coming in. We're established patients and shouldn't have been turned away just because we were there 5 minutes before our appointment...no paperwork to fill out and no copay to take care of... read more

Caution!! If you are considering being seen for pain management... Go elsewhere!! Dr Ellison when he practiced, was compassionate and suffers from back pain himself however, he's retired and now has a PA seeing his patients. Crystal the PA gives zero f@&#s about you or your pain.. she will rip off your insurance and miswrite your scripts that she will then claim was your misunderstanding. They will forget to sign them and then require a new appointment to fix it..next they'll close the office so you can't be seen for days. Just do yourself a favor and keep looking for an actual physician, a person that takes an oath to do no harm because this woman doesn't care at all and the AZ medical Board doesn't govern PA's!! My personal experience hasn't been impressive since the day she came on board and I've been a patient there for years. Now looking for alternatives is next to impossible due to DEA restrictions and I'm trapped...do NOT do this to yourself. I've been thrown into withdrawal because of her incompetence more than once and not because I take more medication than I'm supposed to. This is a rotten outfit that only wants patients with good insurance that they can over charge for below average care. Month after month, they require a form to be filled out and signed about how well the pain is managed...they don't even bother to read these forms or they would realize the lack of proper pain management is basically identical to none..those forms are there just to cover their butts! read more
