Normally I would have given Verve a 5. Nice new look, I love Dr Katherine Davis (I think it's Waltz now). But the service from the front receptionists is absolutely horrendous! They never call back or return messages, they never answer the phone. It rings for a second and then boom, music goes on and you could sit there for a long damn time, if you wanted to. I started going to Verve because one of the best doctors I've ever had started working there. She was amazing, so I called to get back on her patient list. Since it was a "new patient" visit, it was tricky to schedule, but eventually, I got an appointment. While Dr. Haynes was there, things were good. After a bit, it was harder and harder to get an appointment, so I started seeing the NP more often than Grace. I didn't mind, Katherine Davis was excellent, personable, and really listens. Gradually, more and more practitioners left, and now, I don't think there's a single MD or DO on staff. For most situations, that's not a crisis, but they're SO understaffed, it's difficult to get an appointment. I'm on regular medication, and it has been a challenge getting in for refills and checkups. Absolutely FORGET the thought of going in for a quick appointment when you're sick. They're 3-4 months out for scheduling. This winter, if I had waited, I probably would've died of pneumonia. Twice this year I have had to pay large copays to go to the emergency room and urgent care for appointments that would be considered routine (one was COVID -- I had tested and everything, but they wouldn't so much as have a prescription phoned in). The receptionist said, "if you're having breathing issues, I've been told to recommend you go to the ER." (Great... $200 copay... cool. Why do I even HAVE a doctor?) The second time, I caught the flu, and it quickly turned into a major respiratory issue. Remembering the last time, instead of taking the ER advice, I went to urgent care instead ($80 was still out of my budget, but I didn't really have an option). We've had issues with refills, communication with the pharmacies, returning calls, etc. At one point, they MOVED THE OFFICE and didn't notify me before an appointment that was scheduled 4 months earlier. I showed up for my appointment and had to get back in my car to find the new location. The only reason I'm still going there is because I need continuity of care for my medications -- otherwise, my work performance will suffer (and I need my job). Frankly, I almost walked out when the receptionist got snarky after I asked her to turn the lobby music down (I had a migraine, and it was NOT quiet background music). 1/10 do NOT recommend. I'm considering switching to One Medical... even with the membership fee, I've spent more this year in ER and urgent care copays than the cost of the membership -- and at least there, they guarantee you get treatment the same day if you're sick. What even IS medical care these days? Good grief! I SWEAR, we were always able to get appointments within three days when I was younger. What the hell happened?! I don't need bells and whistles. I just need a doctor to monitor my chronic illnesses, provide treatment when my standard preventative and recovery measures aren't enough, and to keep on top of my medication refills in a timely manner. I will run out of my medications before this week is out, and I have NO IDEA if the pharmacy has the refill information yet... once, it took almost a week and a half to get the office to send my refill request to the pharmacy. I'll give them a 2 only because Katherine Davis, NP is such a good provider. It takes at least 2 weeks to get an appointment with Ms. Davis, which is not good. They can't seem to keep providers. The current issue is something I have written a review about in the past. They absolutely do not return calls left on the scheduling line, and very rarely answer calls. After 3 weeks, I received a call to go over labs. The MA left a message to call back. On my 3rd try I got a live person to answer the phone who transferred me to the MA line, and of course, 2 days later, no call back. read more

In Dr. Warkentin's chiropractic clinic (Verve), masks are not required or worn by most staff and practitioners, which horrified me to walk into. Next, during the first 2 minutes of intake, Dr. Peacock Warkentin randomly and assumptively slammed Joe Biden (who I proudly voted for), and made a phallic joke (I'm a lesbian, it's in no way what I was thinking about, Dr.). Literally, that was my greeting. Regarding his clinic Verve Wellness, the dentist was abrasive and tried to scare tactic push my wife into unnecessary work (she called and made an appointment elsewhere immediately after leaving her Verve appointment), though the hygienist was amazing. For the medical clinic portion, practitioners don't review records and seem to just wing it during appointments (so now we have to go back out and find a new doctor who will competently value our time and needs), and their front office has major staffing issues so expecting a timely callback will not happen, because no one checks messages. read more

So this is a healthcare facility that rents out space to different medical providers on different days of the week. We started at their sister facility, that is also in Mesa. They are both clean and well kept. This one has much more friendly and inviting staff and is more professionally run. If you are scheduled for a procedure, ask if there is an alternative to be moved to this one. That's what we did. read more

I love my Dr but the front office is very rude and mean! The first time I brushed it off but the second time I can't let it go. A prescription was not filled and the girl I spoke to was talking down on me like she is on a power trip and annoyed with my questions. Unbelievable. I see others have the same complaint. I went to Dr. David Warkentin almost 2 weeks ago for neck and shoulder pain. I had something fall on me from a high shelf a couple of weeks before that which left me with pain. I made this appointment early so I wouldn't be late for work however, I still was. The appointment lasted over 1.5 hours and much of that time was just waiting. Dr. Warkentin spoke a lot about himself and bragged about his country club and his power and blah blah blah ... none of which impressed me. Should it have? X-rays were taken and then I was adjusted and I thought I had been killed. I'm not kidding. I've been to a chiropractor many, many times and have never experienced anything like this before. Supposedly, my ribs were out of place and he adjusted me so hard that I couldn't breathe. It knocked the breath right out of me. I couldn't move. I couldn't talk. I screamed when it happened. It's one of the most painful things that has ever happened to me ... and I've had a baby and cancer. The pain, noise, and fear instantly made me cry. He said he doesn't warn people bc he doesn't want them to tense up. WTF?! I feel traumatized. Yah - my neck and shoulder feel better but my ribs on the right are now killing me. I can't even wear my bra because it's so painful still ... almost 2 weeks later. It hurts to take a deep breath ... to sleep ... to move. I couldn't stop crying all day. It hurt so much and scared me so bad. I went back once more and saw a different doc. Was okay but I'm just not comfortable there so I won't be going back. I hope my ribs heal soon ... This center is is not the center to go to if you are expecting any kind of human touch or kindness for lack of better words. They run the clinic (the primary care side) like a factory. From my first visit with them, having contracting covid and needing medical clearance for work, to needing to be seen unfortunate digestive issues, the CNA's or NA's I have encountered have all been robotic and and just not friendly. It's very difficult to see the same provider and the 3 I've seen have have also been robotic, all about the computer, non- personal always just a bunch of questions while looking at their computer. I am currently sitting in an exam room for over 55 minutes after arriving on time and seeing my provider at the reception upon checking in , chatting with staff, rubbing lotion up and down her arms. Lol!!!!! Can you get anymore unprofessional? After sitting down, waiting to be called I further witnessed my provider talking and chatting and walking about the clinic. I got into my exam room in a fair amount of time- 10 min or so. After a long now 60 minutes of waiting and listening to her chat outside of my exam room, I have paid my last co-pay to this insensitive, unprofessional clinic. I hope the Medical Director and Manager of this Dept. takes heed to this review. I was initially referred to this clinic, but will never refer anyone here. Caring, and friendly goes a long way... I have been Dr. Grace Haynes patient for over a year and she is the best however, the front receptionists are unfriendly and has no customer service skills. This evening, January 19, 2021, I returned a call to Verve Wellness for my test results, one person transferred me to another person and she answered "which one is this, who is this", when she realized I was obviously a patient, no apology for her rudeness at all. I hate hate hate going to the doctor. Linda Farris is awesome. She makes me feel at ease and I feel like she really listens to me. The office is beautiful and conveniently located. I've never had to wait too terribly long past my appointment time. My one gripe is with the front office/nursing staff. They are a bit unfriendly and have made errors with scheduling, prescriptions, and made me make an appointment just for the doctor to say my test came back fine. The doctor even said she'd told them to call me back and cancel it. I still come here, I'm just extra clear when I speak with them and tell them what I want. read more

When I am in Arizona I have Decompression Treatments at Verve with Dr. CHAD. He's amazing. Dr. Chad recognized (as I walked into my Treatment), something was very wrong with me. I had a Stroke the previous day. He insisted (NO Treatment today) & immediately phoned Banner Gateway Hospital located on the next street over from His Clinic. I got into the Emergency Room immediately. He recognized I was having Stroke Symptoms. Dr Chad was CORRECT.. I was in the Hospital for several days. And unlike other Chiropractors (in the past) Dr. Chad writes Test Orders for MRI imaging tests. And unlike many Chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Chad's Adjustments can be very gentle when asking him to really be gentle when adjusting you. He's kind & a Wonderful Dr. & cares about my Welfare. My family & I are forever grateful that Dr. Chad insisted I go to the Hospital becz I did have a Stroke (the day before I visited his office). Thank You Dr. Chad. My family Loves You & kind Staff. This was the nicest chiropractic/wellness center I've ever been to. I brought my dad in about 5 weeks ago due to severe lower back pain on a Saturday, which many chiropractic offices weren't opened. Dr. Wolsey was the chiropractor on duty and he was really great in helping my dad who was in so much pain. He was very kind to my dad and sensitive to the pain he was in. An ambulance and the Gilbert Fire had to be called to assist in transporting my dad from the chiropractic place to the hospital because of the severe lower back pain he was in. Dr. Wolsey was here the whole process. My dad came back a few days later and though the pain was less, Dr. Wolsey did not adjust my dad's back and just helped him with a little more mobility stuff. Unfortunately, Dr. Wolsey was not In-Network for my dad to continue to work further with, but my dad was really impressed with the care Dr. Wolsey was providing him in this short duration and his care for my dad. I go here for low-needs primary care (about 3 years now). I felt compelled to leave a review today since patterns keep repeating that I would certainly want to know about when searching for a doc.  The doctors are okay and the building is clean. No anti-med nonsense and they are reasonable. Grace and Katherine are great. HOWEVER, this office has people on the phones and at the front desk that are extremely unpleasant and evidently have zero customer service instincts/training. Please don't tolerate it if you do choose this provider. It has been this way for a while (over 3 years, prepandemic) so you just know that someone on the top of the pile is not doing their job in terms of QC or coaching. For example, every time I call and speak to "Stephanie" she begins the call with "Hello, this is Stephanie" --no verve wellness mention or a friendly greeting reassuring you that you've reached the right person/dept (after all, it is a m e d i c a l office) and a deadpan miserable tone to match her professionalism. She then makes a point to rudely interrupt you to demand your DOB (she has done this every time I have called--even if I spit the DOB before I start talking and the tone and timing are clearly meant to communicate to the caller that she is growing impatient listening to you). I can't imagine how many unsavory interactions this one woman is having with Verve's callers. Other operators conduct themselves in a similar fashion but this particular person is so jarring that I recognized their name from the last 3 times I called to complete simple, non-combative tasks or ask questions and was met with annoyance and condescension.  Shame. I hate calling them and hate going there just because I can't stand the people at the front desk and on the phones. None of them greet you or acknowledge you when you walk in. I really wish they would get their sh*t together in terms of customer service quality. Its not difficult stuff but otherwise they are an okay healthcare provider. read more

Such a creepy place. At first glance you see a serene beautiful spa atmosphere. Then you notice weird sheriffs department signs. Fake Police awards. Pics of the owner doing muscle flexs by the cappuccino machine. Fox news is on silently hanging from the ceiling. Many of the staff not wearing masks. Nor are they especially friendly or polite. The posted sign on the front door has the disclaimer, that you DO NOT have to wear a mask. Oh and they do Covid testing. Verve submits false claims to the Insurance Company to code things that are not in the best interest to the patient to receive additional money. Verve Medical Group (4824 E Baseline Rd # 110, Mesa, AZ 85206 # (480) 969-4040). I had fractured and misplaced ribs that I brought them the xray from the urgent care. They didn't care nor did they care about the amount of pain I was in. They saw how bad the report reflected ribs 8 + 9 + 10. The attending physician at the time was Grace Haynes ( Love her just not the practice ) She ordered another X-ray however SIMON took the wrong side of my ribs. I had rib fractures on my right not my left ? Why would they do that? Again to create another order to bill the insurance company again. More money. This Company is creating Fraudlent Claims to insurance companies that they should not. I only know this since I followed up on my claim with the Insurance Company. The company below has been red flagged and will be going thru a auditing process including OSHA coming out to inspect the office. When asked the Office Manger ( AMY ) she told me that they are no longer going to file the claim ? What all of sudden changed ? Why wouldn't they want to collect the money from Insurance. I am not really sure what to say here because I read good reviews on Verve Wellness in Mesa, but my experience is different. I want to say, excuse my language, but they don't give a shit about you. They rush you out cause they are only allowed 15 minutes per patient. I choice to go there cause right now I do not have a family physician. I will keep this brief. I went their to have my blood pressure checked as I ran out and needed a refill as well. Was seen by FNP-BC Tara Thompson. I was there with my wife. My Blood pressure was high as I even told her I was having daily headaches. they gave me blood pressure meds to take right there and retook the pressure, went down some but was still high. Tara I also began to tell Tara Thompson about few other concerns and she said to me, they are only allowed 15 minutes per patient so any other issues will have to be taken up at another visit as her 15 minutes was running over with me. She asked what pharmacy is use and said they will call in the prescription. I went there Thursday Morning May 21, 2020. My wife had gone to pick up the meds. She was not by the pharmacy, they have not been called in yet, so she called the center, whoever answered the phone said to her they will call Tara Thompson and let her know. Friday, May 22, I stopped into the pharmacy, NO Meds called in yet. Saturday, May 23rd, no meds called in yet. I called Saturday morning, course they were closed, I left a message I need my meds please. No one has yet to return my calls. So, what happens now, it is a holiday weekend ( Memorial weekend) the Verve center is closed. Will I now have to wait till they reopen Tuesday May 26th to wait to get my meds. I think the media love to hear about how the Mesa Verve Wellness Center cares about their Patients. So for this I'd like to give them a negative review. But I will be nicer. I broke a crown on vacation. As an 8 year customer I expected them to get me in right away to have it repaired. I was surprised when they said 3 days to get in. We did not schedule the appointment as I needed faster service. I had my crown fixed by someone else that day. Imagine my surprise when they called me to ask where I was for the "appointment" we did not schedule 3 days later This appointment was not confirmed by me either. The person was rude and hung up on my wife. I get a letter sayin that I am a bad customer and need to take my business elsewhere. I call and ask for explanation and I get the same treatment after being on hold for 12 minutes. I ask to speak to business manager. They don't call me. But I get the same treatment. If you like poor service and are a fan of Dicks last resort this is the place for you. read more

My boyfriend & I are relatively new to Verve Wellness - Medical, but we have had nothing but great experiences. The doctors are really good, and truly seem to care about their patients. I'd recommend Verve Medical to anyone. They are more than willing to work within their patients medical insurance limitations without any problem. The receptionist always, always remembers are names. Dr. Warkentin is the most compassionate person I have ever met. Not only in your medical care but also in your life events. He did awesome things for my son whom was medically fragile. He took care of him pro bono because he believed in what he was doing episode help him and he knew we were piled with other medical bills. I can't thank him and the rest of the staff for helping me get on my feet after a car accident. Everyone in that building and in every division are so kind! Worst doctors office I've ever been to. You wait over 30 minutes to see your doctor after being taken back (even if you are accompanied by a small child and are pregnant.) They don't even call you with your results, I waited over a week for blood work results and no one called me until I called and was told that I need a chest X-ray because I have TB In my blood work. They won't know what your back for even though you had a chest X-ray ordered by them that you had to call to find out about they will act like they haven't looked at your notes and the staff is all rude and and seem absolutely clueless just like the doctor acts unconcerned by not calling or coming to her appointments on time 2 times in a row. Once I confronted a nurse 2 times to ask about how much longer and no one came to tell me an eta. She complained about me to her work friends that "Davis's patient went off on me!" and I heard the whole thing and that's just unprofessional. I found the front office ancillary staff at this facility to be atrociously unprofessional and inept. Each lab procedure has gotten progressively worse (requiring more than a single "poke"). My last lab visit for a simple blood-draw was absolutely devastating . After being mercilessly poked twice by the so- called medical person, I nearly bled out by the time I reached the outside of the front door of the clinic. I noticed that I was bleeding profusely from beneath the band-aid placed over the site of the draw. I had to turn back and beg for help. Blood was flowing from my arm all over the front of the clinic, throughout the waiting area through a short hall and finally into an examination room and all over an examination table where they finally put pressure on the site of draw and managed to stop the bleeding; which would never had occurred if the so-called medical person had handled the procedure properly in the first place. I have tolerated rudeness and incompetence from this front office staff for each of my visits. I no longer wish to place my life, health or well-being in their hands and have no recourse but to seek medical care elsewhere despite my trust in and fondness for Dr. Haynes. Obviously Dr. Warkentin does not realize that his front office staff represents him. My immediate thought is that these people must all be relatives or associates of the owner. Otherwise I do not believe this type of incompetence would be tolerated in any other legitimate health facility. I would recommend that future patients might want to always check records carefully and have and ancillary lab work performed elsewhere if possible. read more

Very negative experience here with both medical and office staff. I was a patient here for nearly a year, and at first it was tolerable, but my last experience here was so negative, I will not be a returning costumer. There was one main office employee that I dealt with regularly. I had so many negative experiences with this employee, I nearly called to speak to her manager. Calling to make an was so painful as she REGULARLY would ask to put me on hold because "We are just so busy and the phones are ringing like crazy. Can I call you back?" HOURS would pass with no return phone call. SHE CONSTANTLY blamed her in ability to return phone calls or address me as a costumer on how busy the she was. It appeared more to me she did not value me as a patient or a costumer. Most of the time, I saw the NP. She was somewhat casual in her professionalism and made comments about my attire that I did not appreciate (Made me feel very inferior to her very fashionable attire), but overall listened and was compassionate and receptive. At 12 weeks pregnant I scheduled an appointment here and saw the MD. VERY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE with this man. On my first appointment with him (we had never met before and he knew nothing about me), rather than address my medical questions and complaints, he addressed my "anxiety". Within the first 5 minutes, rather than take my concerns seriously, he said "You seem like you are a very anxious individual. I think this is more a matter of anxiety than anything." I tried to explain that my anxiety was more because I hate going to the doctor at all. He agreed to run some labs, which he made it clear he was doing only to satisfy me and seemed fairly bothered by it at all. The previously mentioned office employee told me she would call me with the results, as I was moving 60 miles away. After 3 weeks, she had not called me. I even called twice and left a voice mail. Finally, I called her, and she again said "We have just been so busy. I haven't been able to call". The employee relayed to me the results, several which were abnormal, indicating I had an infection and specific allergy. After 3 WEEKS this information was finally communicated to me. Not very prompt medical care. Overall- I would not return here. MD did not address my concerns professionally. He jumped to conclusions within 5 min of knowing me and was blindsided to what I was actually telling him. Office staff/employee proved to be consistently disappointing, costumer service skills were just awful. NP was the best of my experiences here. read more

From the front door receptionist to the caring medical staff-you are treated with respect, integrity and an old fashioned 'we care about YOU' attitude. I love Dr Grace Haynes, Linda Ferris, Bethany, Lourdes, Crystal and the entire medical group. I received a knee treatment that has given me a better quality of life and believe me, I will praise this establishment forever.
