He listened to samples of my playing, discussed with me my goal of how the piano should feel depending on my repertoire, and was able to provide the top 5 things that he can do to the piano so it can be closer to that goal, which includes restoring the mechanics to the manufacturers specification since it has been decades. I have used a few piano tuners in the past. Tin To is easily the best one so far. The pricing for…read morehis services were very similar to the others, but he went above and beyond. Not only did he spend almost 3 hours to tune the piano multiple times to make sure it was just right and stayed just right, he disassembled most of the parts, so he can get into the crevices to vacuum out the dust. He reassembled the parts making sure everything was even more secure than before to eliminate all the subtle unwanted "noise" from the piano. Lubrication was also used to make sure all the keys moved smoothly like they are supposed to. I am definitely going to stay with Tin for all future piano tunings.

I should have went with my gut feeling when he did not show me any proof of previous work on repairs that he's done. There are tons of black spray paint specs all over my keys. The repair was NOT sanded smoothly prior to paint as you can see in my photos. The top part is still a dent but painted over. This is not results of a professional. I will have to find someone else to clean up his mess! I would not recommend him to anyone and surprised at the review he has.
