I mean, Freeport Bakery has been around…read morefor decades, and places like this tend to sit on their laurels or have outdated tastes that don't keep up. Freeport is definitely still bringing fantastic cakes. The service was prompt and professional, and the ordering process online was easy and efficient. I brought the lemon cooler to Land Park to celebrate my mom, and I don't think I've ever seen her that happy over a dessert. She then told my aunt in the Bay Area about the cake, and on our next trip, we brought it to her. All have agreed this is a stellar cake and will be making our way down the menu until we've tried each cake.

This is one of Sacramento's most tried and true bakeries. It has been around for a long time and…read moresurvived all the "trends" because it is NOT trendy. Just solid old fashioned excellent bakery. The shop might not look that big but it packs a mighty punch! Known for it's legendary treats, there are always a lot of different options available for immediate consumption. Cake slices, cupcakes, cookies, you name it. The store is a feast for your eyes, and stomach of course! It's also the go to place for custom made cakes. No, they are not cheap, but they are superb in quality compared to some other cakes. Their cakes come in many different sizes and flavors. They are very busy so make sure you order well in advance for custom orders. Recently, my 50th Bday cake was from there. Salted Chocolate Caramel. It was decadent and delicious! I even had leftover slice the next morning with my coffee. We also customed ordered a Fruit Basket Cake for my sister's Bday (which is the same week as my bday). It's her favorite cake flavor and it didn't disappoint. They use butter cream and it is smooth as can be. In my opinion, it is truly the BEST bakery in Sacramento. It will still be here when all of the trendy places come and go.

I found this place online, liked what I saw, and so I came down for lunch. It's in a very large…read moreAsian, mini mall, which has things such as a shipping store, plenty of places to eat, a water store, a barbershop, things to buy, etc. It was a nice place. Large, very clean. All of the employees were friendly. It has a little bit of everything. It has a bakery, sandwiches, soups, stews, other items as well. They even serve an afternoon tea. I decided to go for the chicken and mushroom congee. (rice porridge.). I also got a green onion hotdog roll to take home with me. To drink, I had a green tea with lemon. The congee was amazing. A rich complex flavor. It had a little bit of ginger in it, you could definitely taste the ginger, but it did not overwhelm the rest of the porridge. The chicken was good, and for the mushroom, they used black mushrooms, which have a deeper flavor than regular mushrooms. So very good. It looked like a small bowl, but I couldn't finish it. Some came home with me, and it reheated very well. It also came with Chinese donuts to put in the porridge. Chinese donuts are a little bit different. They definitely taste like a doughnut, except they are not sweet at all. They are savory donuts, and are perfect to use as a crouton, so to speak. The green tea was very good, and they didn't overdo it with the lemon, and that hotdog roll that I had later, the pastry was delicious with just a little bit of a "chew" to it, they were definitely high-quality hot dogs, and it wasn't just green onion. They had something mixed in, I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't taste raw like green onion can. Just a great lunch. I'll be back. Thanks.

The cakes here are always a yummy treat. Never too sweet like their sponge cakes and their specialty fruit cakes . Would def come here all the time if I didn't fear being obese or diabetic
